Denna studie avser att undersöka och analysera fyra verksamma lärares uppfattningar om det vidgade textbegrepp som uttrycks i kursplanen i svenska 2000 och vilken betydelse deras uppfattning om det begreppet får för elevers undervisning i svenskämnet. Studien ska dessutom undersöka och analysera deras uppfattningar om hur ett vidgat textbegrepp kan förstås och relateras gentemot styrdokumenten i svenskämnet. För att fånga fyra lärares uppfattningar om ett vidgat textbegrepp och vilken betydelse deras uppfattning får för deras elevers svenskundervisning, har intervjuer genomförts i grundskolan med fyra lärare i år 6-9. Förhoppningen var att dessa intervjuer skulle ge en bild av verksamma lärares uppfattning om ett vidgat textbegrepp och hur det gestaltas i deras undervisning. Secondary schools have for decades debated whether they promote social reproduction which is considered to generate the homogeneous student compositions. The gap between the academic programs and vocational education programs is considered to increase. What in recent years has appeared in research is that the gap is increasing most tend to be in the specific academic program, particularly in science. This paper's intention is to describe the science program at a local level and the pupils who were admitted to the science program autumn 2009 on the basis of an educational sociological perspective. The survey consisted of a census in which all students were given the opportunity to answer a questionnaire.

Det pågår en skolpolitisk debatt om andelen kärnämnen respektive karaktärsämnen inom gymnasieskolans teoretiska och praktiska program. Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det finns en skillnad i studiemotivation bland gymnasielever i kärnämnen respektive karaktärsämnen beroende på om de går ett teoretiskt program eller ett praktiskt program. Deltagarna i undersökning var elever på ett gymnasium från den sista årskursen dels från ett teoretiskt program, Naturvetarprogrammet (NV) och från ett praktiskt program, Omvårdnadsprogrammet (OP). Metoden som undersökningen använde sig av var en enkät som tog upp området motivation till kärnämnen och karaktärsämnen. Resultatet visade att motivationen hos elever på det teoretiska programmet var högre för kärnämnet än vad det var för elever på det praktiska programmet, de hade en högre motivation i sitt karaktärsämne.
