Managementläran har en lång historia med olika idéer för hur organisationer bäst styrs. Idagens samhälle är hållbarhet en stor trend, alla aktörer måste arbeta för en hållbar utvecklingoch ett resultat av detta är intresset som uppkommit för hur företag kan använda sig avhållbarhet som managementidé. Som en del av samhället måste även landets kommuner tahänsyn till trenden och det är vanligt att offentlig sektor kopierar managementidéer frånprivata sektorn. Med hjälp av en kvalitativ studie var syftet att jämföra managementmodellenutformad av Galpin et al. med delar av Uppsala kommun för att se om modellen, utformad förprivat sektor, har relevans för offentlig sektor.

Our employer, Gaddad, is a tattoo and piercing community that was created in 2006 with the basic idea to make it easier for people to get in touch with the tattoo artists and piercers from all over Sweden. With the homepage?s popularity at 2009 they decided to expand with the news page Inkzine. 2011 they contacted us with a plan to expand the homepage to Europe and then merge their two sites under the name Inkzine.The goal of this project was to create design suggestions for Gaddad / Inkzine that both the administration and the current users liked and would consider implementing on the website. In order to evaluate the current design and our suggestions we decided to use two questionnaires .

Flooding events are no longer rare, floods occur all over the world. Accordingly, it is vital for the society and different authorities to work with flood mapping. To meet the goal of Uppsala kommun to map the risks of floods in Uppsala län, a map of the different areas around Funboån which are inside the area of risk for flooding have been developed.In the work, cross sections and the water flow have been measured. Moreover, an echo-sounding have been carried out in Funboån to map the bottom topography. From the bottom map and laser scanned data covering the study area, a terrain model was created.

This thesis has been carried out in autumn 2009 at Uppsala University for Boliden Mineral AB. Physical modelling has been used to model a comminution circuit. The model has then been linked to a PLC.When a concentrator is about to become operational Boliden Mineral AB have been looking for a way to test the PLC. The purpose of this report has therefore been to develop models for the subprocess in a concentrator and link these models to the PLC. The subprocess was a comminution circuit in Aitik36.

Because of among other things the globalization and a focus on core competencies knowledge has become very important for the companies of today, especially for research-intensive companies. The problem is that the companies become more sensitive to how knowledge is created and spread, that is, how organizational knowledge is created. Especially sensitive are companies who are small, young and research-intensive. The purpose with this thesis is to explore how organizational knowledge is created in small, young and research intensive companies.The theory is based on a five-phase model of organizational knowledge creation and four modes of knowledge conversion described by Nonaka and Takeuchi (1995). These concepts constitute the foundation of the analytical model used in the thesis.The study is carried out by qualitative, highly structured interviews with low standardization.

Bakgrund: Dagens samhälle är i förändring, vilket av forskare har kallats att det gått från det moderna till det postmoderna samhället (Löwendahl & Revang, 1998). För företag har denna förändring bland annat inneburit att de måste internationaliseras, det vill säga starta engagemang på utländska marknader, för att överleva. Syfte: Uppsatsen syftar till att ge ett bidrag till nuvarande forskning genom att undersöka huruvida Uppsalaskolans internationaliseringsteori har ett tillfredsställande förklaringsvärde, eller om en uppdatering av denna vore att föredra.Avgränsningar: Vi avgränsar vår studie till att omfatta ett företag inom tillverkningsindustrin eftersom Uppsalaskolan bygger på en studie av tillverkningsföretag och är därmed applicerbar på denna typ av företag.Genomförande: För att kunna undersöka Uppsalaskolans förklaringsvärde, har vi utfört en kvalitativ studie av ett företags internationella engagemang genom att studera dess etablerings- samt internationaliseringsprocess. Resultat: Studiens resultat visar ett visst mönster av engagemang likt en stegvis etableringskedja i enlighet med Uppsalaskolans teori. Det förekommer dock avvikelser i form av att fallföretaget bland annat har snabbat på etableringar genom att inleda engagemangen med högre resursåtagande än vad som hävdas i teorin.

Arbetet är ett förslag till ett nytt konstmuseum i Uppsala. Förslaget delar upp det givna programmet för museet i en del med Uppsala Konstmuseums nuvarande samlingar och en utställningshall för temporära utställningar. De två utställningshallarna ligger på vardera sida av Fyrisån och binds samman av en gångbro. I anslutning till bron och de två entréerna ligger café, shop, restaurang och bibliotek. Arbetet har inneburit studier av omkringliggande stadsrum, dess färg och skala, av kommunikationen mellan museets olika delar och ljusföringen i utställningsrummen..

This master thesis encompasses an inventory and risk classification of four disused landfills within the municipality of Uppsala, Sweden. The model of the classification; ?Method of Surveying Contaminated Sites? is developed by the Environmental Protection Agency and can be used as a framework to investigate and describe the environmental damage and the level of risk for each object. The risk classification model has a rating from 1 to 4, where 1 represents a very high risk while 4 is a small risk. Risk class depends largely on the type of land use that exists on the object, and hence, various benchmarks must be taken into account.

The thesis deals with three document retrieval models based on logic: the Boolean model,the fuzzy model and the Van Rijsbergen model.In Chapter 1, the author presents the purpose of the thesis. This is to give the logical foundationof the models, to describe them and to examine them critically. In Chapter 2, some importantnotions in document retrieval are presented. Chapter 3 is devoted to the Boolean model, Chapter4 to the fuzzy model and Chapter 5 to the Van Rijsbergen model.These three chapters are organized in the same way. First, the logical foundation of the modelis given.

Uppsatsen är en pilotstudie. Syftet är att undersöka om det går att urskilja en skillnad i konsumtionsmönster ur Uppsala auktionskammares auktionsprotokoll från åren 1783 och 1820. Studien ingår i ett forskningsprojekt omfattande olika aspekter av andrahandskonsumtion i Sverige. Undersökningen presenterar vad människor konsumerade under perioden och saluförde via auktionsväsendet. I analysen studeras protokoll för att se om det går att urskilja en förändring i konsumtionen mellan de aktuella åren..

2007 gjorde Uppsala studentkår en enkät om cykeltrafiksäkerhet riktad till sina studenter. I enkäten framkom att studenterna var missnöjda med ett antal korsningar och även med underhållet av stadens cykelnät. I mitt kandidatarbete har jag samtalat med ett antal berörda tjänstemän, upprepat enkäten samt bedrivit litteraturstudier. Därefter har jag resonerat kring hur man skulle kunna underlätta för studenter att färdas med cykel i Uppsala. Resultatet är en sammanställning av hur Uppsala kommuns arbete med några cykelrelaterade frågor är upplagt och hur det fungerar i dag samt ett antal förslag till förbättring.
