I en globaliserad värld möts olika kulturer och etniciteter ständigt och kan ge upphov till en ojämlik maktfördelning. Rester av kolonialismen syns i vårt samhälle i den norm som den vite mannen representerar. Skolan är en mötesplats för människor oavsett kön, kultur, klass eller etnicitet. Utan att medvetandegöra kategorisering ur ett maktperspektiv blir skolan endast en reproducerande institution där den strukturella diskrimineringen får råda. Vi har för avsikt att uppmärksamma skillnadspraktiken utifrån etnicitet med avseende på synliggjorda normer.

The purpose of this Master's thesis is to examine if stereotype gender patterns are showing, and how they are showing, in the picture books that have the highest number of loan in Sweden?s three biggest cities. It is also a purpose to show if these gender patterns can be compared to the outlook on gender in the curriculum. The method used is a qualitative text analysis. 13 picture books are analyzed on the basis of Yvonne Hirdman?s theories on gender and Maria Nikolajeva?s theories on children?s literature.

This study is about how an organization, Femtastic, works for equality and diversity in the field of music, how they experience their positions and their possibilities. Also how they relate to the cultural policy objectives. Femtastic is trying to create a structural change in the male-dominated music industry.

AbstractDue to the success of the Populist Party Sverigedemokraterna in the Swedish election of 2006, the daily paper Sydsvenska Dagbladet published a number of columns written by well-known academics, writers and debaters. Their aim was to address the question of why this happened in the election and what it is in the Swedish society today that brought forward these trends. The first and the last word was given to the writer Fredrik Ekelund, and therefore the debate was named Ekelunddebatten.The debaters are fighting to present their view of the world as the only option when categorizing different societal groups and appointing themselves as group representatives. My aim is to unravel these different conceptions of the world and to do this I use the Dicourse Analysis as a method. I discuss the results with Critical Discourse Theory as a theoretical base and also from the view of the current societal discourses: the working class discourse, the multicultural discourse and the discourse of political correctness.I mainly observe four different conceptions of the world with different posing of problems.

Undersökningens syfte är att vinna kunskap om hur barn på två utvalda förskolor resonerar kring genus. Kvalitativa intervjuer med barn i åldrarna 4:9-6:6 år har genomförts för att se om barnen eventuellt bryter mot de traditionella könsmönster som finns i samhället eller om de följer desamma. De genomförda samtalen har främst berört leken på förskolan samt barnens uppfattningar om och förväntningar på att vara flickor och pojkar. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att de könsmönster som framträder på förskolorna följer den traditionella syn som finns kring flickor och pojkar, men att det även finns tillfällen då barnen bryter mot denna syn. Barnen väljer i stor utsträckning att leka lekar som kan anses tillhöra det egna könet även om det finns barn som är mer gränsöverskridande i val av lek. Då barnen diskuterar hur flickor och pojkar är framträder även här ett mönster där barnen i stor omfattning följer de traditionella könsmönstren, samtidigt som vi kunnat utläsa att de vid vissa tillfällen bryter mot rådande norm. .

Purpose: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to explain how advancement factors affect men and woman to advance in their careers in the accounting profession.                                Methodology: A positivist approaches and a deductive approach, with a quantitative method was used to obtain the results of the analysis. Theoretical perspective: The theory describes the career stages, audit assistant, approved auditor, registered auditor, manager and partner. Their responsibilities and what it takes to get there is explained. Theory section also describes the different advancement factors from a gender perspective. Empirical: The empirical material is based on a survey conducted in respondents who represent the five career stages. The collected data is then analyzed using statistical tests. Conclusion: The analysis shows that the identified career advancement factors that limit and stimulates the male and female auditors? career ladder.

Purpose: The purposes of the current study were to investigate whether there were any differences in the perceptual ability between professional and non-professional ice-hockey players and whether professional players are better at distinguishing, paying attention to and concentrating on what is important during intense physical activity. Method: Twenty male ice-hockey players (10 from both the Swedish first and third divisions) participated in the study. Wingate test were used for physiological measurements while three psychological tests were presented in front of the participants. Stroop, Flanker and Fast counting tests were used to measure perceptual and coping abilities during intense physical activity and the differences between the two groups. Results: Fast counting and Flanker word 2 tests showed a significant difference between the two groups, whereby the professional groups was faster and more accurate than the non-professional group in answering.

The purpose of this Masters Thesis is to explore the impact of spare time reading fiction on the identity of teenage boys, and what it really means to them. To investigate this, we have focused our investigation on how teenage boys relate to and what they search for in their reading. The data collection is based on 8 interviews with boys in the age between 14 and 15 and on literature on the subject. The theoretical framework focuses on the reading theories of Joseph A. Appleyard, the transactional theory of Louise M.

Our society is based on a heterosexual norm. This may lead to the fact that LGBT-persons have a poorer health status than the heterosexual population. The nurse education lacks information and courses that highlights sexual identity. This is defective since healthcare staff needs knowledge on the subject to be able to treat patients in a professional and respectful manner. The purpose of this study was to illustrate how heteronormativity influences the treatment of patients within a healthcare context.
