Denna uppsats ger sig på att analysera förekomsten och representationen av maskulinitet och manlighet i den tecknade serien Tintin. På vilket vis kan Tintinalbumen påverka de unga läsarna när de under uppväxten skapar sig en bild av vad maskulinitet och manlighet innebär? Hur representeras norm och praktik, och vad framställs som gott och vad är ont?.

Gender equality and gender equality work is relevant for today's working life, and previously male-dominated occupations may be increasingly under pressure to become more equal. This paper aims to explore and understand how the firefighters at a station are experiencing gender and gender equality in rescue services.Using theories of how sex is done, how a power perspective and a structural approach can show men's and women's different conditions in an organization, and theories that are more specific to gender and change management the firefighters talk about gender and gender equality are analyzed. Essay results were collected through interviews with seven firefighters and then analyzed and interpreted with the help of theories.The analysis shows that there is a perception among the firefighters that men and women are biologically different and that required physical strength legitimizes the exclusion of women. Inequality is seen as something natural and by pursuing an active gender equality women are given unwarranted benefits. When physical strength becomes a legitimate reason for exclusion, the responsibility for gender inequality is put on women and that women don?t have what it takes.There is also a resistance against gender equality analyzed in the paper, and it's stated opposition seems to be directed against the management's way of recruiting women.

Media has a big impact on our lives and is one of the main channels for people to recieve information. When recieved, the messages creates a meaning for the people that read, hear or see them. In other words, media could be seen as a source for people on how to perceive the world and it gives a certain picture of what is ?normal?. We chose to do this study to get a deeper knowledge of how men and women are being portrayed in a Swedish lifestyle magazine and what messagest that sends out to the readers.In this study we have examined how men and women are being portrayed in the Swedish magazine Café, both in photographs and in text.

The purpose of this study is to examine, from a gender perspective, Utbildningsradions TV-program Hej Litteraturen! in the light of feminist literature studies conducted during the last twenty years. I want to examine if the feminist literature studies have had any impact on contemporary teaching material regarding the question of how much space in time is given to men versus women and which female authors are included in the literary canon. Hej Litteraturen! is a TV program produced in 2010 intended for high school teaching of literature history.   By conducting a content analysis in which I divide the study in a quantitative and a qualitative component, I have investigated how much space and time is given to female writers and how they are presented. My analysis draws on use Yvonne Hirdman?s theory of the gender system.   The result shows that the female authors get 37 percent of the total reference space and 42 percent of the time-space. The program has sought to describe male and female authors equally and gives them weight and relevance to the sections in a similar manner.    In conclusion, Hej Litteraturen! is a tutorial which embraces parts of the criticisms that have existed in historical literature review papers in general and literary history textbooks in particular. Hej Litteraturen! has worked on gender aspects of the program and by picking up contemporary authors as reference points for literary history in the present, the program contributes not only not only in renewing the literary canon, but also in balancing out the dominance of male writers in the history of literature..

The aim of this paper is to elucidate and analyze history teacher's didactic choices in the conflict between unequal educational materials and the requirements of equality in the curriculum of Swedish secondary school. The empirical data consists of interviews with five secondary school history teachers, observations of their lessons as well as analysis of their tests. The starting point was to investigate teachers' didactic work in the role as a bridge between the non-equal historiography presented in textbooks in history and the curriculum?s demands for equality. Three different approaches have been observed in the teachers' didactic work when considering gender perspective into their teaching: that women become extensions in a male-dominated historiography; that another part of the story is presented when a gender perspective is considered; and that the gender perspective is included in history teaching and becomes an integral part of all the content of the subject.Several of the teachers acknowledged that gender equality is less prioritized than the courses core content and related assessment criteria.

The purpose of this study is to see a display on how family, gender and sexuality are produced in four same-sex parents? stories about their children?s pre-school start. The question formulations that have been used were aimed to find out what expectations and concerns parents may have on the pre-school organization, if the parents have any saying regarding the organization, if the pre-school have worked with equality and how they have been treated as a family. The method used is a qualitative study based on interviews. Four lesbian women have been interviewed on their experiences of their children?s pre-school start and after finishing the interviews the content has been analyzed from different viewpoints found in the material.

During the last ten- fifteen years the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) population in southern Sweden has increased considerably. This area has a high density of both people and roads and have a higher roe deer (main prey of lynx) density than the rest of the country. Movement patterns such as how long animals utilize their kills and how far they travel from their kills between revisits is unknown for lynx in southern Sweden. The aim of this study was to examine how different factors affected the time lynx used their kills and the distances they travelled from the kill between revisits. The data was prepared and calculated using ArcGIS and the study is based on 98 ungulate kills and 12 lynx individuals.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the influence that aristocrats in Sweden had on the Swedish movement for the prevention of cruelty to animals, and why especially aristocrats started it. The sources I have been using are speeches and texts written by persons who were involved in the movement. I have also studied rapports from the three largest societies for the prevention of cruelty to animals. In the sources I looked for terms, expressions and opinions that can be paralleled whit the aristocratic ideal and opinion. Things that can relate to aristocratic urban people.

Vår studie är en jämförande studie mellan två förskolor, där vi undersöker hur pedagoger i en flerspråkig förortsförskola samt en relativt icke flerspråkig centrumförskola förhåller sig till interkulturalitet och flerspråkighet i verksamheten och hur/om de arbetar för att stödja den. Detta har vi utfört genom en etnografisk inspirerad fältstudie där vi observerar och utför sex kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer. Vi har valt att intervjua tre pedagoger från vardera förskola, för att se om våra observationer stämmer överens med pedagogernas uttalanden i intervjuerna. Vi utgår ifrån vår teori för att hitta svar på våra frågeställningar i empirin. Våra resultat visar att pedagogerna på båda förskolorna uppfattade sin egen roll som viktigt i barnens språkutveckling, men ingen av pedagogerna på förskolorna hade några strategier att lyfta alla modersmål.

Syftet med studien är att genom diskursanalys lyfta fram exempel på medias bild av kvinnan. Materialet för analysen består av artiklar som berör skönhet, kropp och hälsa i tre nummer av tidningen Amelia samt bilder på tidningens omslag. Samtliga omslags bilder visar stylade, leende kvinnor som visar hur en kvinna kan, läs ska se ut, vilket följs upp inne i tidningarna där vi får förslag på val av handlingar för att uppnå samma (själv)bild. De funna resultaten kopplas till socialpedagogikens; det sociala arbetets arena, som handlar om mänsklig tillväxt, relationer, kommunikation samt tilltro till individen som kapabel att välja och förhålla sig till rådande explicita och implicita normer i den samhälleliga kontexten. Normerna bygger på mönster av makt, som kan relateras till uppfattning och attityder gentemot individers delaktighet i samhället utifrån hur avvikande val kring skönhet, kropp och hälsa bestraffas.

Den svenska skolan är, framförallt i de tidigare åren, en könssegregerad arbetsplats. På gymnasial nivå synliggörs en del av segregationen i ämnet idrott och hälsa, där det arbetar ungefär dubbelt så många män som kvinnor. Historiskt sett har killar dominerat ämnet både när det gäller betyg och inflytande över innehållet. Syftet med detta arbete är att försöka belysa eventuella kopplingar mellan könet på läraren, könet på eleven och betyget i kursen idrott och hälsa A för att sedan jämföra det med resultatet från estetisk verksamhet A, ett annat ämne där lärarna är överrepresenterade av män.Arbetet har en kvantitativ ansats, där empirin är hämtad från Stockholm stads betygsdatabas ?Hanna?.

The purpose of the essay is to by means of a quantitative method investigate what the portrayal of GLBT-people looks like in a selection of Swedish and New Zealand newspapers. The essay focuses on aspects such as the gender ratio between GLBT-people who are mentioned and also those who are allowed to speak out in the newspapers. Also in what proportions the newspapers portrays the different fractions of the GLBT-term, what subjects are covered and what types of sources are used are areas of interest.The analysis is conducted through a quantitative research method where two Swedish newspapers (Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter) and two New Zealand newspapers (The Dominion Post and The New Zealand Herald) were selected. Three periods of 15 days were selected for each newspaper and electronic databases were used in order to try and collect all articles with relevance for this study.The theoretical background consists of Tiina Rosenberg?s theories about media?s role in the individuals? identity shaping, Nina Björk?s feminist theories connected to gender and power, and the patriarchal structure of society, and also Anders Sahlstrand?s accounts of journalism?s use of sources and their effect on the audience?s perception of the news presented.The main results from the analysis points towards preponderance in the occurrence of male homosexuality and male homosexuals.

AbstractThe purpose of the present study was to clarify and describe what image men and women present and communicate in their profiles on an online dating site. Further has been investigated if traditional gender roles and stereotypes are as pronounced on this online platform or if it offers a space to go beyond traditional formations. The theoretical framework of this study consisted of a social psychological idea and understanding of identity as well as a gender theoretical perspective. The methodological points of departure were hermeneutic and the data consisted of ten male and ten female member profiles on match.com. The results of the study was divided into three themes, the emphasis on positive qualities, the attractive body and project manager to one?s own life.

I denna kvalitativa intervjustudie har sex syskon till personer med diagnos inom autismspektrumtillstånd intervjuats för att få ett inifrånperspektiv på familjens situation. Syftet var att se huruvida stämplingens effekter påverkade familjemedlemmarna för att kunna dra en slutsats kring om familjen kunde betraktas som medstämplade. Resultatet visade att interaktionen med myndigheter i många fall upplevdes som tärande vilket skapade oro hos respondenterna, utöver detta upplevdes ofta omgivningens reaktioner mot syskonet som smärtsamt. Resultatet ställdes i analysavsnittet mot norm samt avvikelseteori, där kunde det faktum att familjen blir påverkad utav stämplingen bekräftas. Vid analys mot normteori uppvisade resultatet tecken på ett eget utvecklat familjärt normsystem som användes för att syskonet med diagnos inom autismspektrumtillstånd ej skulle uppleva sig exkluderad.

Background: Prostate cancer is the fourth most common cancer disease in the world and affects mainly older men. While having prostate cancer the treatment can be both medical and surgical and both these treatments can give side effects like erectile dysfunction, lost libido and hot flushes. Sexuality among elderly is often associated with taboo, but sexuality exists among elderly and is important for their wellbeing and quality of life. It is common that nurses don?t address and discuss questions concerning sexuality with patients, even though they know that sexuality often is affected while having a disease or experiencing illness.
