The purpose of this essay was to find out if it is possible to:? Detect different groups of gender among children in grave materiel and church art and if that was the case, in what way?? What different groups of children can be seen in these two categories?? What does the material say about children's position in society? The time span is from early Christian time to 17-th century and the geographical region is Sweden and Denmark. I got my information from published literature and different pages on the Internet. This study contains the search of knowledge about the deacons of the Swedish church, if they actually feel an increasing pressure and in what way, how they are handling the possible pressure from people in need, if that pressure is too high and if the deacons feel that they can assist the people seeking their help. The study also aim to provide more knowledge about the deacons experiences of the opportunities and boundaries (or obstacles) they meet in their line of work and how they handle the boundaries when/if they can?t provide the help that the people need.

Western scholars have long sought to grasp the essence of and explain Buddhism. Western representation of Buddhism has been in a manner that reflects their concerns and interests. In addition to this it is also known that Buddhism in Sweden is seen in a favorable way. This study tries to locate where this positive attitude toward Buddhism stems from and if it is represented in this manner in Swedish textbooks. Therefore three textbooks of upper secondary class of religion are to be examined, not only to see if there is a positive attitude towards it, but to see in what manner Buddhism is depicted in Swedish schools on the whole.

Syftet med mitt arbete var att öka min förståelse för hur barn tänker kring kunskapsbegreppet generellt samt specifikt inom historia och religion.Jag läste litteratur i ämnet för att ge en bakgrund till hur forskningen sett och ser på kunskap och inlärning. Martons m.fl. "Inlärning och omvärldsuppfattning" samt Pramlings "Barn och inlärning" har varit till stor hjälp. En viktig del i arbetet har även Pramlings metodbok för barnintervjuer haft. Jag har intervjuat åtta barn i en årskurs fyra om vad de uppfattat att de lärt sig generellt och specifikt på lågstadiet och jag har via enkät bett fyra lågstadielärare svara på frågor om vad de tar upp inom ämnena historia och religion samt vilka mål de har med sin undervisning däri.Med detta material som grund fann jag att det i denna grupp fanns en tydlig tendens att det som barnen i första hand uppfattar som kunskap var det som vi betecknar som grundläggande färdigheter inom matematik och svenska.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera hur utvalda läroböcker i engelska för grundskolan uppfyller läroplanens krav på jämställdhet och likabehandling samt hur förekomsten är av respektive kön, av människor med olika utländsk bakgrund, sexuell läggning, religion eller med funktionshinder. För att undersöka detta utfördes en kvantitativ granskning av fyra läroböcker i engelska för år 9, där såväl bild som text granskades. The aim of this essay is to do a queer reading of the early Swedish pentecostal movement, with a special focus on the women within the movement. The main empirical material is Gustaf Emil Söderholms Den svenska pingstväckelsens historia part I and II, published 1927 and 1928, in addition to this a selection of articles from the Swedish pentecostal magazine Evangelii Härold has been used. The theoretical framework consists of Judith Butler's concepts of heterosexual matrix and performativity, as well as interpellation, and of Adrienne Rich's concept of a lesbian continuum. The analysis shows that the evangelist role, as well as the charismatic practices of the movement, made it possible for women to take the position as leader and teacher of congregations, and thereby take up a male subject position. The role as evangelist also made possible a life outside of the heterosexual norm, within the lesbian continuum..

Right-wing populism has through the past decades flourished in several countries in Europe. Research has shown that right-wing populism is, with its political starting point in ?the people?, focusing on the majority and is sometimes excluding the minorities from the politics. Since human rights regulations are mainly a protection of minority rights, the aim is to examine if the politics of the Sweden Democrats, as a case of a growing right-wing populist party, is a threat to human rights and in that case, in what respects. The thesis is supposed to answer the question in what respects the politics of the Sweden Democrats contravene with the European Convention?s protection of minority rights.

The purpose of this study was to gain understanding of orthodox Christianity in Swedish educational material. The aim was to compare the presentation of orthodox Christianity towards pupils before the new curriculum and after. This study discusses and examines the alternative teaching materials in religion class amongst seven teachers in Stockholm region. As religion is a complex subject to both learn and to teach it may be beneficial to use alternative texts to show the diversity of the subject. The aim of this study was to examine why teachers use news articles and other articles from daily magazines in their religion class. I also examined how the teachers motivated their choices of teaching materials. The study is qualitative and the empirical work was done by interviewing seven teachers in religion.
