Religion i historieböckerna, utmaningar och möjligheter : En didaktisk analys av läromedel i historia
Swedish students in the upper secondary school will recieve informaition regarding religion from multiple sources. If we look past the students surroundings like the family, friends or multimedia school is still the primary arena for religous education. Discussions about religion will take place in other lessons than just the subject religion. History is in my opinion the subject closest related to religion and the two makes up for a lot of the values work in swedish schools. Textbooks is still one of the most important tools for education and that makes them important as objects to study.
Improvisationsundervisning i olika musikgenrer? - Fyra pedagogers undervisningsmetoder i improvisation
Title: Teaching improvisation in different musical genres My curiosity for teaching improvisation in different genres emerged when I started playing with musicians who had another musical background than my own. I wanted to acquire a better understanding of what improvisation means to them and how improvisation is taught in their genre. The aim of this study is to gain insight into four pedagogues' methods of teaching improvisation. The four pedagogues represent the genres of jazz, blues, organ music and folk music. I chose these four genres for two reasons.

AbstractThis essay is based on a qualitative and quantitative study. We have compared history textbooks on an upper secondary level and how the books handle the Soviet Union. This study is done in Växjö as a region. Furthermore we also made interviews with upper secondary teachers and forms with upper secondary students. Our study of the textbooks has been ranges within the period from 1917 until 2009: we choose the year 1917 because the Soviet revolution started at the former date.
Film som en resurs i historieundervisningen : Film as a resource in history education
Abstract: In this study, I have searched for answers to whether teachers use pictures in their teaching with the purpose of making education easier. Can we use the pictures with a pedagogic purpose? In this study, I have interviewed middle-school teachers concerning this subject.My results show that teachers actually use pictures in order to make the education easier for pupils but they do not do it very often. They think that they do not have the time to look for the good pictures that go with their subject and that they can show in the classroom. They also think that the pictures in the textbooks are good enough and they do not discuss the pictures very much.
Sju husmödrar berättar : en etnologisk studie om husmödrar under mitten av 1900-talet
This thesis is about how ideology affects the way leadership literature measures good and bad leadership qualities. The paper argues that ideological influences in leadership literature, from a teacher perspective, complicate the understanding of leadership in its practice and theory. The methodological tool used in this thesis is an idea- and ideology analysis approach applied on leadership literature that is used in teacher education. A theoretical discussion about the definition of leadership and its possible ideological connotations sets a frame for measuring ideological influences in the texts. The analysis from the textbooks showed clear signs of ideological influences when talking about leadership.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not there has been a change in the use of democratic values in textbooks in social science for classes 4-6. The focus lies on democratic values from two different theoretical perspectives, Dahl?s theory of democracy and Habermas deliberative democracy. The method used is a text analysis based on a model made by Lennart Hellspong. The material we?ve analysed consists of four textbooks in social science from different decades, with a range from 1981 until today.

AbstractThe purpose of this study has been to find out what attitude fifth graders have towards mathematics. This is done to get a better understanding of student?s feelings regarding about mathematics and what it is that makes mathematics fun or boring. My questions have been: What do the students think is fun, boring and difficult about mathematics? How do students think that a good mathematics teacher should be? Do the students see a difference in the mathematics teaching in easy compulsory school years?To find answers to my questions I have looked into prior research on students attitudes towards mathematics.

This study investigates the teaching strategies of four teachers, and determines which teaching strategies give better results in mathematics at the middle school level? Result here means the knowledge level of the students. The result has been measured through leave out a mathematical test, which I leave out designed. Teaching strategies have been assessed through interviews with teachers and observations of their lessons.My study shows that to go through the lessons thoroughly in the traditional way, and open discussions with the whole class are best for students achievements.The information available, however, is too limited to draw some general conclusions, but my study can be seen more like a counter-example to the general praxis that is short lectures and individual assessment with one to one communication when teaching mathematics..

This paper is about finding a set of unwritten rules pertaining to the teaching of history in an exclusively Swedish college. I want to know if truancy among immigrants has anything to do with SO teachers? choice of content or their teaching methods. Unwritten rules are a complex phenomenon but by applying different perspectives and teaching methods a pattern will emerge. It is possible to discover different influences in the way the teacher chooses their material and work plan.
Folkhemmets husmoder i en strid för yrkesarbete och jämställdhet : Kvinnans förändrade roll i samhället under 1950- och 1960-talets första hälft i tidningen Damernas Värld
Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka hur allmänheten fick sin första bild avHIV/AIDS från massmedia. Jag valde därför att undersöka hur Dagens Nyheter ochAftonbladet rapporterade om HIV/AIDS under senare delen av 1980 ? talet. I minundersökning sker en analys av hur tidningarna granskade makthavarna i sin rapportering avHIV/AIDS, hur tidningarna gav de mindre grupperna i samhället en röst i sin rapportering avHIV/AIDS och hur tidningarna lugnande men samtidigt varnande sina läsare i sittrapporterande om HIV/AIDS för att sedan jämföra resultatet mellan de två tidningarna. Jagvalde även att undersöka hur rapporteringen i de tidigare nämnda områdena skiljde sig mellanåren 1986 och 1988.
Lika inför vården? en litteraturstudie om västerländska sjuksköterskestuderandes attityder till HIV-positiva patienter
HIV och AIDS förknippas fortfarande, mer än 20 år efter de första fallen, med fördomar och skam. Syftet med föreliggande litteraturstudie var att undersöka vilka attityder till HIV-positiva patienter som fanns bland västerländska sjuksköterskestudenter, samt hur dessa attityder påverkade sjuksköterskestudenternas omvårdnad av dessa patienter. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades och resultatet visade att positiva åsikter övervägde, även om negativa också förekom. I många fall berodde sjuksköterskestudenternas attityder på hur patienten hade ådragit sig smittan. Resultatet visade även att det fortfarande fanns alarmerande brister i kunskapen om HIV/AIDS.

English is an international and global language that students, regardless of mother tongue, encounter in their everyday lives. In Sweden, students are introduced to English teaching in year 1, 2 or 3, and in some cases, year 4. English teaching can sometimes be problematic when the language of instruction often consists of Swedish, which for second language students becomes a challenge to acquire new skills in a week language.The study aims to examine, with a qualitative study, how pedagogues plan and implements English teaching in first grade with students whose mother tongue are other than Swedish. Further, the aim was to examine how pedagogues say they relate to the fact that second language pupils participating in English lessons and if they think it affects their English teaching.The conclusions is that the pedagogues has probably not been problematized the phenomenon examined and say they do not adapt their teaching. In the interviews reveals information about the teaching method which, in my opinion, indicates that, unconsciously, adapting their teaching when they have second language students.
En komparativ studie av matematikböcker i grundskolan 1842-2006
This paper is a study of some of the mathematics textbooks that were used in Swedish public schools from 1842 to the present. During this period several revisions of the curriculum took place and led to a change of contents in the various books. The first part is a description of the books chosen and highlights from each are given and compared with the corresponding curriculum. Also social and political change and the role of men and women can be studied in the examples presented. A comparison between similar topics and how they were accounted for in the older versus the newer books follows suite.
Äntligen kvinnan i centrum! Eller? : En studie av nyandlighet och genus i läroböcker i religionsvetenskap för gymnasiet
The aim of this essay is to examine how gender is described in pictures in textbooks used in swedish upper secondary school. The research question is: How is gender being potrayed in the pictures of new age in the textbook in relation to traditional dichothomy, hierarchy and detraditionalization? The material used in this study consists of five textbooks in religion used for education in upper secondary schools in Sweden. In total, 18 pictures from these books that describe new age, constitutes the subject of analysis. The method used is picture analysis.
Makroekonomiska följder av HIV/AIDS - teoretisk diskussion och simulering av Botswanas ekonomiska tillväxt 2002-2050
Sedan 1996 är HIV/AIDS den främsta dödsorsaken i Botswana och skapar stora sociala och ekonomiska störningar i landet. Trots att sjukdomen i sig inte är ett ekonomiskt fenomen utgör den stora omfattningen ett allvarligt hot för landets ekonomiska utveckling de kommande årtiondena. Den ekonomiska utvecklingen i Botswana var fram till mitten på 1990-talet en av världens snabbaste. Från att ha varit ett av de tio fattigaste länderna i världen utvecklades landet till ett av Afrikas rikaste och klassas nu som ett medelinkomstland. Denna uppsats ska försöka reda ut vilka några av de makroekonomiska konsekvenserna är för ett land där en av fyra bär på den livshotande sjukdomen.
