Uppsatsen bygger på en studie av hur texttyp och genre förklaras i läroböcker inom gymnasieskolan. Syftet är att kritiskt granska hur begreppen förklaras i läroböcker för Svenska A och B. Som utgångspunkt för studien görs även en granskning av hur vetenskaplig text förklarar dessa begrepp. Det sker genom en kritisk närläsning av ett texturval från både det språkvetenskapliga och det litteraturvetenskapliga fältet. Granskningen utgår från distinktion, komplexitet och samband.

The purpose of this study is to understand how the school manages to question norms, and in doing so might prevent its students from being subjected to discrimination and other degrading treatment. This has been done with a focus on how gender related norms are represented, reproduced and questioned in children?s fictional literature. Two methods have been used; a survey and an literary analysis. The survey was conducted on primary school teachers with the intent to collect information related to their thoughts when choosing books to use in their classrooms, and also to source commonly used fiction.

The purpose of this masters thesis is to examine how librarians work in a literary educational role with literary circles for adults and youth, in public libraries and at school. The study also examines whether participation in book discussion groups has any effect on participants and librarians regarding changes in reading habits and in personal development. Another aspect investigated was how participants experienced the atmosphere in the group. We have conducted qualitative interviews with five librarians who have lead different literary circles and with two participants from each literary circle. In all 13 interviews were conducted.

In a Swedish classroom today there will be students with different ethnicities, world views and religious beliefs.  The students will be taught religion through a non-denominational education, where as a teacher you are meant to be objective, open-minded and fair in the representation of different traditions. This representation is colored by the outsider-perspective and the students then learn about religion from a party which is not involved in the religion being taught.
