AbstractMany pupils struggleto read. Teachers must therefore know how to motivate these pupils. In this qualitative study the aim is to investigate what some teachers do to motivate pupils to read. Data were collected through interviews with four teachers from two schools. The teachers said that the choice of book was extremely important for making pupils interested in reading, and that reading aloud and cooperation with parents and libraries are of great importance.

The essay explores nationalism in the curriculum of the swedish school from 1878 to 1994. The text has been undertaken an analysis in three levels of discourse based on Norman Faircloughs critical language analysis. The first level is the text, the second is types of discourses and the third is order of discourse.The nationalism in the curriculum has been related to three nationalistic types of discourses, derived from earlier studies on Swedish nationalism. They are conservative nationalism, ?folkhemsnationalism? and contemporary nationalism.

By using contemorary work-theory this thesis aim to show how Yarden. The aim of this essay is to give a picture of the extension work at Partille Public Library, asit is today, as well as to investigate if there is a need to reconsider the way of working at thelibrary.Qualitative interviews have been made with the extensive librarians and certain local governmentpoliticians, borrowers and personnel at hospitals as well as other institutions.The extension work at Partille Public Library corresponds quite well to the intentions whichare stated for the work in certain important investigations made by the Government. Theborrowers and the personnel are quite satisfied with the work and are only pointing out a fewviews on changes. The politicians mean that the aim of the extension work of the library ison one hand to give service to certain more or less neglected groups and on the other handto reach new book readers..

Idag finns dataprogram för bearbetning av texter på svenska i syfte att skapa lättlästa texter. CogFLUX är en modul ingående i EasyReader som används som verktyg för att skriva om texter till lättläst svenska. I detta arbete testas CogFLUX förmåga att underlätta läsbarheten och vara informationsbevarande. Sedan tidigare finns mått utarbetade för att mäta om texter är lättlästa. Mått som LIX och OVIX används för att mäta i vad mån en text är lättläst, där man mäter antalet ord per mening, långa ord samt unika ord.denna studie har en grupp personer fått genomgå ett test där de svarar på frågor med utgångspunkt från utvalda texter.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate and discuss the current state of game research and its potential usage in didactic situations. The essay is divided in two parts. Part one consists of an attempt to comment preceding contemporary game research and address possible myths that have been established. Part two aims to discuss games narrative capacity and function in education using the theories and terms laid down by Wolfgang Iser and Gérard Genette.Contemporary game research tends to focus on classic retro games, trying to form theories for a general understanding of the media. This is a useful method as long as the purpose of the study is to define how game mechanics and layout are formed.

Sammanfattningen är skriven på lättläst svenska. Denna uppsats handlar om hur svenska myndigheters webbplatser fungerar för personer med annat förstaspråk än svenska. Denna målgrupp kallar jag för ?andraspråksläsare?. Jag undersöker vilka förenklingar som fungerar för andraspråksläsare och om andraspråksläsare väljer lättlästa texter.

This paper addresses the question about what role typography plays in the interpretation of a text. From three different handbooks in typography arguments are gathered and categorized in to three categories: roman types, san serif and others. Interviews with people from the graphic design area are also a part of the paper and are accounted for in the discussion part of the paper. Areas of theory are a broad hermeneutic view based on Hans-Georg Gadamers thoughts, which have sub categories such as: Michel Foucault?s theory about discourses, John Swales genre theory and Anders Björkvall?s thoughts on typography and multi-modal texts.

Syftet med studien har varit att introducera den kognitiva receptionsteorin om textvärldar (Text World Theory) samt undersöka utifrån vilka textvärldar barnen på en förskola i Mellansverige interagerar med upplästa texter.Studien har genomförts på avancerad nivå inom Högskolan Dalarnas lärarprogram där huvudområdet varit pedagogiskt arbete. Detta är en kvalitativ studie i vilken två observationer samt två samtal med barngrupp med åldersintervallen tre till sex år har dokumenterats och därefter analyserats i relation till ovan nämnda teori.Av analyser framkommer att öppna frågor i större utsträckning leder till ett byggande av föreställningsvärldar och även en mer avancerad dialog med den diskurs författaren utgår från, än då givna ingångar är utgångspunkten. Studien visar även på att barnen redan tidigt har en avancerad förmåga till textrörlighet samt att de är multimodala i sitt tolkande av texter beroende på vilka textvärldar de relaterar till..

Klientbeteendens relation till behandlingsutfallet av psykoterapi på internet är ett underbeforskat område av klinisk vikt. Studien undersöker vilka skriftliga klientbeteenden i beteendeaktiveringsbehandling mot depression på internet som korrelerar med symtomförändring och slutförda moduler. Totalt 29 randomiserade deltagare med mild till måttlig depression ingick från forskningsprojektet Actua. Innehållsanalys med 8 deduktiva och två induktiva beteendekategorier genomfördes på samtliga mejl och modulsvar skickade från deltagare till internetterapeut. Signifikanta korrelationer återfanns i förhållande till symtomförändring för Observerar positiva konsekvenser (r=.49) och Allians (r=42).

Mitt syfte är att analysera hur ett urval läroböcker behandlar genus i avsnitten om judendomen jämfört med avsnitten om kristendomen, i både text och bild. De värderingar och normer som framkommer ska dessutom sättas i förhållande till Lpf 94. Metoden jag använder mig av för att analysera texterna och bilderna är Norman Faircloughs kritiska diskursanalys. Till Faircloughs modell har jag även tillfogat två av Raewyn Connells fyra dimensioner av genus för att på ett enkelt sätt kunna se om genus exkluderas i text och bild. Jeanette Sky bok Genus och religion spelar en central roll i uppsatsen.

In this text I will work on three situations from my daily work as a pedagogue at preschool. The situations are about how pedagogues at preschool relate to children in difficult situations, e.g. when they pee in their pants or long for their pacifier. Those are situations which occur frequently at preschool, but they are still rarely coming up for discussions. The problem in the situations is difficult to describe which makes the essay a suitable form for me to explore and discuss it.

The smartphone is part of our daily life. Smartphone users type on a screen area that is no larger than the palm of a hand. To help with this endeavor the software known as AutoCorrect was created. However little is known about how AutoCorrect actually change the language and if AutoCorrect users at all perceive the impact it has. This study aims to find out if our test subjects are aware of AutoCorrect?s presence and how much it influences them.

A study about Masada as an Israeli national myth during the 20th century? by Sara Tibblin. This essay is about the Israeli national myth of Masada, a cliff in the Negev desert that was the setting of a collective suicide in 73 AD, at the end of the Jewish uprising against the Romans. This story has later been rediscovered and has during the 20th century become a national myth in Israel. This essay will examine how the national myth of Masada has been used in different contexts in Israel during the 20th century and which part it has played when it comes to the national identity of Israel. My findings have afterwards been explained with help of Eriksens theory regarding national myths from the book Historia, myth och identitet (History, myth and identity) (1996).   .
