Utgångspunkten för undersökningen som presenteras i den här uppsatsen är Bengt Sigurds studie av textbindning i elevtext, Tre experiment med text: Att presentera Buffalo Bill (1977).   Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka textbindning i elevtexter, skrivna utifrån samma uppgift (Sigurd 1977) för att se hur eleverna löser textbindningen i en satsatomuppgift. En satsatom är minsta möjliga informationsbärande sats, t.ex. Flickan går och Bollen är rund. Elever från ett yrkesförberedande och ett studieinriktat program fick en satsatomuppgift om westernhjälten Buffalo Bill.

This essay examines middle school students? understanding of a text read aloud to them in English and the connection between the degree of listening comprehension and the expected increase of vocabulary throughout middle school. The same listening comprehension test was carried out in grades 4, 5 and 6 in a middle school in order to survey differences in English listening comprehension in regard to the ability to reproduce the content of an oral text. The result shows that there was a progression from level to level when it comes to comprehension and the number of words reproduced and that this progression was most noticeable between grades 4 and 5..

The aim of this paper has been to examine to what extent it has been possible for Patricia Crampton, translator of Ronia, the Robber?s Daughter, to capture and cling to the very personal style in which Astrid Lindgren writes. I also wanted to find out if any adaptations of the text were made and, if any, how they have affected the tone of the book. To fulfil this purpose a thorough comparison of the original text and the translation has been made. The first chapter consists of an introduction presenting the background to my choice of topic and giving a short presentation of Astrid Lindgren and her career as an author.

In this essay there will be four text books from grade 1 studied, the first one are from the year 1976 and it will be going forward to the year 2012. The aim of this study is to see how the genders are depicted and represented, as well as what roles the genders are given. I do also want to see if there is a notable change in this over time. I will be doing a study based on the quantity of the contents, and I will also be doing a critical discourse analysis.The result of the study showed that there were more gender-based constructions that referred to women in all of the four books, which indicates that women are represented more often in these reading books. It is most common to portray the genders in their stereotypical roles, which again are present in society, but sometimes these roles are depart from what?s present in society.

Boken som ett helhetsobjekt, berättelsens kronologi, text ochbildtekniker, symboler och färgval analyseras för att ge svar på frågeställningarna. Analysenstöder sig till stor del på den metod och teori Ulla Rhedins utarbetat i sin avhandling:Bilderboken. På väg mot en ny teori. The project group is participating in a measuring project that is a cooperation between CIT EnergyManagement AB, the Measuring unit of Chalmers and College of Dalarna.The results from the measurementswill be put together and presented in a brochure.When designing the brochure a great deal of planning has been made how to attract the targetgroup.To make the contents of the brochure more attractive, which mainly will contain text, a lot of imageswith a symbolic substance have been used. To keep the brochure together it has been divided into fivechapters that each has been given one specific colour. The colours are consistent on initials, headlinesand images.At the moment the results of the measurements are not yet ready and the text for the brochure is notpossible to complete now. In this essay, I make a queer feminist analysis of Mats Strandberg?s and Sara Bergmark Elfgren?s teenage novel ?Cirkeln?, which is about six teenage girls who learn that they are witches with a mission to save the world from demons. Using Judith Butler's theories, I examine the norms of sex/gender, ethnicity, class and sexuality found in the text and how these standards are created. I also analyze whether, and if so how, these standards may change when the magical elements enter the text.I also discuss the fact that older Gothic novels with magical elements often have been regarded as queer through history. .

I denna studie studeras tio barnbilderböcker ur ett genusperspektiv. Denna studie syftar till attundersöka i barnbilderböcker av Elsa Beskow och Gunilla Bergström hur flickor och pojkar gestaltas.Syftet är att studera och jämföra om det finns likheter eller skillnader i hur de gestaltar flickor ochpojkar och i så fall vad för likheter och skillnader det finns.Undersökningen genomförs genom en kvalitativ text- och bildanalys för att besvara syfte ochfrågeställningarna. De studerade böckerna av Beskow är skrivna i början av 1900-talet och de studeradeböckerna av Bergström är skrivna i slutet av 1900-talet.Resultatet av denna studie visar att det finns många skillnader på hur flickor och pojkar gestaltas ochatt de traditionella könsrollerna som är tydliga i Beskows böcker inte är lika framträdande i Bergströmsböcker. Både text och bild som undersöktes och jämfördes kan även visa skillnader på hurkönsstereotyper inte är lika förekommande i Bergström..

The aim of this Master thesis is to delineate the ideology behind the public library politics in Gothenburg, during 1945-50. The study is an archive survey. To be able to account for the public library politics in Gothenburg during the period, the author has studied documents in the archive of the public library board in Gothenburg. The description of the politics is the source for the research papers analysis. The thesis principal issue, is on what ideological basis the public library politics has been formulated in Gothenburg, during the period of interest? The concept of ideology is defined as a coherent system of norms and values.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze Martti Ahtisaari?s comprehensive reportfor Kosovo, CPS, based on theories about democracy, democratization andmulticulturalism. The essay is a way to make a contribution to research on howthe international community can contribute to democratization processes ingeneral, as the CPS gives the expression and democratization of contextscharacterized by multicultural problems in particular. In this paper, we implementa qualitative text analysis of our main material CPS. Studiens syfte är att förstå hur statens fokus för att utbilda rektorer har ändrats över tid. Arbe-tet består i att studera två skilda statliga texter som talar om rektorsutbildning. Den första texten är Lärande ledare ? Ledarskap för dagens och framtidens skola (2001) (Text 1) och den andra texten är Tydligare ledarskap i skolan och förskolan ? förslag till en ny rektors¬utbildning Ds 2007:34 (Text 2). Mellan de båda texternas tillkomst har det gått sex år.Undersökningsfrågorna är: Vad uttrycker de två texterna om skolledare och den utbildning skolledare behöver? I vilken tidsanda skrevs respektive text? Vilka förändringar/förskjut¬ningar i synen på rektorns roll och utbildning kan iden¬tifieras?Metoden som använts är diskursanalys.

I arbetet med uppsatsen har en medicinsk text översatts och den teoretiska bas somanvänts är Nords modell för källtextanalys. Den typ av översättning som eftersträvatsär en instrumentell typ, vilket innebär att mottagaren ska läsa måltexten som ettoriginal och inte som en översatt text. Utifrån det valet analyseras de extratextuellafaktorerna: textfunktion, mottagare, tid och plats, medium samt motiv. Analysenvisar att källtexten och den kommande måltexten skiljer sig åt vad det gäller tid ochplats medan de övriga faktorerna kan anses vara likvärdiga. Därefter analyseras deintratextuella faktorerna: ämne, presuppositioner, komposition, icke-verbala elementsamt lexikon.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the narrative in You are a bad man, mr Gum! to be able to understand and explain the intermedial aspects of the work. I assume an intermedial, narratological and reception theory perspective in my analysis. The method of close reading is used combined with a reader-oriented perspective. I examine the medial aspects of the chosen work through the pictures, the text, and the iconicity of the typographical pattern of the text. To reach my goal, the following questions are dealt with: What is the character of the narration? How do the various media interact in the production of meaning? What is the relationship between the text and the implicit reader? What is the narratological difference between reading the book aloud and silently? The theoretical framework f the paper consists of narratological and intermedial theories.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att göra en kritisk diskursanalys av begreppet brottsoffer i internationella, nationella och vetenskapliga dokument. Utgångspunkten i analysen är Norman Faircloughs tredimensionella modell. Analysen leder till en redovisning av brottsofferdiskursen och dess konsekvenser för samhället. De huvudsakliga slutsatserna är att brottsofferdiskursen är en del av en större diskursordning och underordnas en diskurs i vardera typen av text, internationell, nationell och vetenskaplig typ av text. Synen på brottsoffer och brottsofferdiskursen är avgörande för hur brottsoffer bemöts och vilket stöd de får.
