The mission was to create a prototype of a menu system for the companySystem Andersson AB. The instructions were that it has to be as interesting andmodern now as in 20 years. We had to look at technology from the cutting edgeof development to make our prototype survive in the future. WindowsPresentation Foundation (WPF) was the technique we focused on. There areonly a few applications that take advantage of WPF today, but it is predictedthat WPF will be the next generation method for developing applications to theWindows platform.To make our menu visually appealing, easy to use and at the same timefunctional, we followed the clear path and guidelines that are available ininteraction design.

Organisationer står inför ständiga förändringar och det medför att organisationers IT-system behöver anpassas därefter. För att besvara dessa förändringar investeras det i nya IT-system. Dock prioriteras oftast inte hantering av de föregående systemen, så som systemavveckling. Systemavveckling behandlas ytterst lite i befintlig litteratur, till exempel hur en systematisk avvecklingsprocess skulle kunna genomföras. Utifrån detta utformades uppsatsens syfte att belysa ämnet systemavveckling och kartlägga centrala begrepp. För att uppnå syftet har två fallstudier genomförts samt en genomgång av befintlig litteratur.

The SAB-system (Klassifikationssystem för svenska bibliotek) was created almost a hundred years ago and has often been viewed as insufficient among many academic libraries. KB (Kungliga Biblioteket) has therefore decided to change to DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) which means that the Swedish libraries are now facing a challenge that involves a change to a new classification system. This is a comparable situation that occured when the SAB-system was created. The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine the Swedish library sector´s approach to a new classification system, first to the SAB-system and then to DDC.

The purpose of this thesis is to explain one aspect of how and why the development in the third world is lagging behind. The precondition is that development through an agricultural revolution is necessary and that all countries benefit from trading. But these two conditions are not met today. By using the urban-bias and the world system theory I have analysed how the situation appears to be according to the precondition. It appears that both the urban-bias and the world system theory are essential to understand how and why the situation in third world still has not reached the same development phase as most other countries.

Examensarbetet handlar om ett uppdrag från tekniska förvaltningen som i sin tur har från Kommunfullmäktige erhållit uppdraget att utreda och kvalitetssäkra investeringsförslaget avseende Pontus Arena. Jag har deltagit i samarbetet mellan Tekniska Förvaltningen, Fritidsförvaltningen och arkitektbyrån Monarken. De tillsammans studerat sex förslag på om-och tillbyggnad av befintlig hall. Jag har använt mig av all information och fakta från olika möten i olika skeden av projektet och har tagit fram ett eget förslag för om-och tillbyggnation av Pontus Arena i Luleå. Förslaget krävde hänsyn till flera önskemål och dessutom hänsyn till de begränsningar som berodde bl.a.

Under de senaste åren har kurser och utbildningar på Sveriges högskolor och universitet utsatts för granskning och genomgått stora förändringar. Vi har benchmarkat några företagsekonomiska kurser vid Luleå Tekniska Universitet med ett antal utvalda högskolor och universitet i Sverige. Vårt syfte var att se om det fanns skillnader mellan kurserna på de olika högskolorna och universiteten samt att komma med implikationer till möjliga förändringar. För att uppnå vårt syfte undersökte vi vad de intressenter, som vi ansåg vara viktigast, hade för synpunkter på kurserna för utveckling av förmågor till framtida yrkesuppgifter. I och med de intervjuer och det diskussionsforum som vi genomförde med de valda intressenterna fick vi fram kriterier som vi sedan använde vid benchmarkingen.

In this essay we discuss how the decentralisation of the Swedish school system affects the concept of ?equal opportunity school?. We investigate the development from both a historical and contemporary perspective, in order to identify changes over time. The central question of the essay is how the decentralisation of the school system affects the teacher?s perspective and experiences of the government?s framework about ?equal opportunity school?? The analysis is based on four qualitative, semi structured, direct interviews with respondents both active in municipal schools situated in the Malmö council and with more than thirty years of experience in their profession. Our analysis of the interviews show that both respondents experience the overall situation in the schools has deteriorated from an equal opportunity aspect since the decentralisation of the school system.

The purpose of this master thesis is to construct a steering transmission, for a trackedvehicle, containing two hydraulic circuits which are connected. The steeringtransmission should be mechanical to avoid steer-by-wire.BAE Systems Hägglunds has in an earlier study examined a system with two hydraulicpumps and one hydraulic motor, but the safety of the system wasn?t sufficient.To achieve sufficient redundancy there must be two hydraulic motors, which arecontrolled separately. When the two systems are connected in one point, this point is acritical part of the system because it directly affects both circuits. If one of the hydrauliccircuits fails the other should be able to operate independently as a steeringtransmission.

Denna studie syftar till att se på hur barn tar sig an konstruktionsritningar i jämförelse med fritt byggande i en lekfull gruppmiljö. Tidigare forskning visar skillnad mellan mängden män och kvinnor i tekniska yrken och även män och kvinnors inställning till de tekniska ämnena. Vissa forskare visar också på åldersskillnader mellan hur barn lär sig tekniska ämnen. Tar fyra- och femåringar frivilligt sig an konstruktionsritningar, följer dem och färdigställer de konstruktionen? Studien har särskilt tittat på om det fanns skillnader mellan flickorna och pojkarna när de byggde? Hur påverkar barnens eget intresse hur de bygger? Om barn, fyra och fem år gamla kan följa bygginstruktioner?Resultatet av denna studie, i viss mån, stödjer tidigare forskning om att det finns en genus aspekt redan i förskoleåldern, pojkarna var mer försekomna och hade lättare för att följa lego instruktioner än flickorna, men frågan kvarstår; varför finns denna skillnad? Förutom genusaspekten fanns det också ett tydligt resultat som visade på skillnad i byggkunskap mellan fyraåringar och femåringar.

IT exist and are needed in larger organisations today, this creates possibilities for new applications. It has become more frequent with IT within HRM which has developed new concepts like e-HRM and HRIS which links IT and HRM together. We have through qualitative content analysis of interviews investigated how IT-tools affect HR-workmanship. The purpose is to create a basis for describing how employees experience their work with HR within a PA-system. The basis of the PA-system will then answer if it contributes or limits the employees and their activities.

Från att IT tidigare varit en stödfunktion till framförallt produktion inom främst tillverkandeindustri har IT sedan 90-talet övergått till att ses som en grund för affärerna. Samtidigtkarakteriseras många organisationers IS/IT miljöer av låg interoperabilitet. Tillsammans har detföranlett ett behov inom både privat och offentlig sektor att investera i integrationsplattformarför att bli mer agila. Då det råder en informationsbrist kring vad som påverkar beslutsfattare vidbeslut om att investera i integrationsplattformar har det varit uppsatsens primära syfte att bidratill att skapa en ökad förståelse och dokumentation för dessa investeringar. Ett sekundärt syftevar även att undersöka om det fanns kategorier av faktorer som har en större påverkan än andravid dessa beslut och om dessa kategoriers påverkan skiljer sig åt mellan privat och offentligsektor.

Detta arbete är en magisteruppsats i Systemvetenskap med inriktning data och systemvetenskap, 10 poäng, vid Luleå Tekniska Universitet. Uppsatsen klargör vilka faktorer som avgör en användning eller icke-användning av Case-teknologin. Case-teknologin möjliggör ett ingenjörsmässigt närmande till mjukvaruproduktion och systemutveckling genom att tillföra nödvändig systematik, standardisering, automation och kvalitetssäkring. Ett stort antal undersökningar är gjorda genom årens lopp med syfte att förstå och förklara varför det som teoretiskt borde vara lösningen på problemet med undermåliga system inte tycks ha blivit detta. Resultatet av undersökningen tyder på att de variabler som Prekumar och Potter kom fram till i sin forskningsmodell ? relativa fördelar, kostnad, komplexitet, kompabilitet, produkt förespråkare, stöd från ledningen och operativ expertkunskap har störst påverkan på användningsbenägenheten av Case-teknologi..

The aim of this thesis was to investigate the possibility of integrating an item tracking systemwith a monitoring system currently under development at Fifth Generation Technologies (P) Ltd.A literature study of RFID technology and the networks ZigBee and MiWi was done. Based onthe literature study a concept for a distributed system was developed.The concept is to have several RFID readers placed in the area where tracking is to be performedand allow them to communicate with each other through wireless communication. The RFIDreaders shall be able to form zones and filter the data that is forwarded from the zones to theservers and thus perform some of the work that the server would normally have to do. Theconcept has been evaluated by prototype development and testing. The prototype uses an ultrahigh frequency RFID reader and a MiWi network.The test indicated some limitations with the selected technologies.

Systemutvecklingsmetoder har funnits för att utveckla system ochprogramvaror sedan vattenfallsmodellen gjorde sin introduktion på dentiden då IT kallades för data processning. Sedan dess har det funnits ettantal metoder, vissa av dem används än idag. Gemensamt för de flestametoderna är att de är anpassade till mycket komplexa system som användsinom stora organisationer. Inom det Svenska samhället så fanns det år 2005över 890 000 småföretag (0-49 anställda) enligt statistiska centralbyrån.Det är lätt att förstå att småföretagen är viktiga för Sverige. För att Sverigessmåföretag skall kunna överleva i en allt tuffare konkurrenssituation så ärdet viktigt att de hela tiden effektiviserar sina verksamhetsprocesser medexempelvis innovativa IT lösningar.
