A piezoelectric injector was modeled, in this Master Thesis Project which was carried out at Scania CV AB in Södertälje, in GT-Fuel. GT-Fuel is simulation program from Gamma Technology.The simulation model for the piezo injector was divided into a hydro-mechanical system and an electrical system (Piezoelectric element). First the hydro-mechanic model was duplicated from Advance Continuous Simulation Language model (ACSL). The simulation results were then compared to the ACSL, to verify that the hydro-mechanical system was modeled correctly. The simulation results for the electrical model were also compared with a Simulink model.

Due to increasing international competition and new technology IT-consultants has been forced to oversee their business models lately. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the process and consequences of a shift in business model for a consultant by using a methodology based on action research. The empirical foundation consists of a field study with observations, notes, interviews and business related documents. The case describes a consultant?s process of shifting business model from profits based on man-hours to selling a standardized system.

Technology evolves quickly, with innovative ideas growing everywhere. Still, no technology is anywhere near challenging the mouse and keyboard for navigation of your standard computer. This study focuses on comparing the traditional technologies of mouse and keyboard with the new technology of gestures - in this case Leap Motion - in purpose of finding how the usage differs and what the potential users want from the competing technology. The experiment was executed in a controlled environment, with as few external factors as possible. We found that although the test subjects found Leap Motion fun, the test subjects do not want to surf the web with gestures.

This report describes a synchronous machine model with magnetic saturation in d-axis, neutralconnection and electrical exciter interface for the transient simulator PSCAD/EMTDC. It hasbeen designed and verified in comparison to the regular machine model in EMTDC.The performance of the model is very good when incorporating a linear as well as a saturatedmagnetising inductance. The dynamic deviation is only thousandths to ten thousandths perunit. By using a cubic interpolation of the saturation curve, the model gives a good representationof the saturation effect. The open source code implementation of the synchronousmachine model gives the possibility to easily adapt the model to specific requirements.The derived model makes it possible to simulate a synchronous machine with its excitationsystems, e.g.

The aim of this master thesis was to create a dynamic model for the processes in a solid fuel boiler of the moving grate type. Another aim with the model was to keep it as simple as possible but still able to catch the dynamics of the processes in the bedplate of the boiler. The creation of the model had its origin from drying and combustion equations used in earlier modeling work of boilers. The represented model has been used to simulate different kinds of disturbances in a boiler and different ways to control the boiler. These tests show that controlling a number of parameters in the bed of the boiler is an effective way to keep the grate stable during disturbances.

I takt med att informationens värde för organisationer ökar, ökar även behovet att skydda den. Ett sätt att göra detta är att använda sig av biologiska identifieringstekniker. Genom användandet av biologisk identifiering kan organisationer stärka skyddet av sina informationssystem. Introduktion: I denna studie undersöks 450 konsumenters acceptans för tre, på marknadenbefintliga rågbröd utan rågkärnor (Aktiv råg, Rågkusar, Rund & God) modifierade i två nivåer(1, 2) med olika mängd hela rågkärnor.Bakgrund: Råg och fullkorn har flera goda hälsoeffekter. I Sverige äter vi för lite fullkorn men den mängd som konsumeras är huvudsakligen i form av bröd. Ur ett folkhälsoperspektiv vore det intressant att undersöka svenskars acceptans för rågbröd med hela kärnor för att se om de accepterar ett hälsosammare bröd.Syfte och frågeställningar: Syftet med undersökningen var att ta reda på konsumenters acceptans för olika rågbröd, och undersöka effekten på gillande vid tillsättning av hela rågkärnor, samt se om det fanns någon skillnad mellan kön eller olika åldersgrupper.Metod och material: De nio brödtyperna bakades av Fazer Bageri AB och konsumenttestet genomfördes i Uppsala. Bedömarna fick smaka på bröden och fylla i sin acceptans på en niogradig skala i en enkät där skalsteget 1 representerade lägsta nivån av gillande och 9 den högsta.Resultat: Signifikanta skillnader fanns i acceptans för Rågkusar som accepterades lägst av alla prover, samt för kön där Aktiv råg 2 accepterades högre av kvinnor. Äldre accepterade Rågkusar 1 och 2 i högre grad än den yngsta åldersgruppen.

This is a final thesis done at BT, considering one of their forklift truck models called Reflex. The first part of this report is about a preliminary investigation investigating what kind of diagnostic systems BTwants to use, and also which demands there are to meet all expectations on such system. Secondly a diagnostic system, which will show if the drive wheel is worn out, will be presented. In the preliminary investigation, two kinds of diagnostic systems were mentioned. These were Model based diagnosis and Predictive analysis.

Syftet med vår uppsats är att bidra till en bättre förståelse av teknisk förändring genom att undersöka och analysera hur anställda handlar vid införandet av ny teknik. Uppsatsen bygger på kvalitativ ansats och vi har använt oss av intervjuer och observationer som metod för att samla in empiri, som senare analyserades med hjälp av meningskategorisering och meningstolknings metoder.Vi anser att det är viktigt att behandla motstånd och acceptans tillsammans, för de samverkar och existerar i relation till varandra. Både de positiva och negativa reaktionshandlingarna bör betraktas som helhet för att få hela bilden av organisationsförändringen. Motstånds- och acceptanshandlingar är inte homogena hela tiden utan ändrar sin karaktär under förändringsprocessen. Information till de anställda vid förändring minskar inte nödvändigtvis motståndet.

Mobile telecom and the Internet are converging, which opens new possibilities for market actors to create business through the mobile handset. At the same time market experts are predicting that mobile operator?s existing dominance in the telecom market will in the future decline as new technology such as VoIP and services will erode the operator?s traditional revenue model. This implies that mobile operators will need to rethink their dominant business logic to create new value for their customers. Mobile operators are aiming to expand their existing revenue model through advertising in the mobile handset and are searching to create new business models that evolve advertising sales.

Denna uppsats behandlar acceptansen av vindkraft ur ett svenskt perspektiv. Uppsatsen syftar till att besvara vad det är för problem som ligger till grund för brist på acceptans, och hur man kan förebygga dessa. Den syftar även till att belysa hur man i Sverige jobbar politiskt för ökad acceptans för vindkraft.Det finns många bevisade negativa effekter av vindkraft såsom visuell störning, besvärande ljud, skuggor och reflexer. Det är dock endast den visuella effekten som spelar stor roll i frågan om acceptans. Experter har länge trott att bristen på acceptans för vindkraft har grundat sig i NIMBY-syndromet, men på senare tid har man kommit fram till att så inte är fallet.
