Den traditionella förväntade nyttoteorin har kritiserats för att inte vara realistisk i sina förutsägelser om hur beslut tas vid risk. Eftersom de flesta situationer innefattar någon form av risk är det viktigt att utreda ifall man bör söka efter en alternativ teori. I denna uppsats undersöks hur väl nyttoteorin och en konkurrent till denna, prospektteorin, kan förklara riskbeteendet hos Black Jack-spelare. Detta görs genom en studie av fem individers spelbeteende på en krog i centrala Jönköping. Materialet analyseras både grafiskt och statistiskt genom att undersöka om individernas beteende förändras beroende på utfallet dels i de fem senaste händerna och dels under hela spelomgången.

The purpous of this master?s thesis is to explore how the swedish public library evolved between 1890-1911, before the state implemented the library reform in 1912. The material used to cunduct the study concists mainly of texts published during the time frame of the thesis in the form of books, booklets and articles from Folkbiblioteksbladet, a journal dedicated to the subject of the swedish public library.Drawing upon Habermas theory of the structural transformation of the public sphere and Bourdieus theories about taste as social distinction and symbolic capital, the thesis seeks to show how the public participated in the evolvement of the public library and which aspects of society that contributed to the public library?s establishment as an institution. The findings are also discussed in relation to previous research of the history of the Swedish public library.

The purpose of this literature study is to provide an overview of current knowledge about the physioloical functioning of androstenone. There are several studies showing androstenone´s function as a pheromone, and that it is an important part of communication and mating behavior between pigs. Androstenone is produced in the testes of the boar and transported via the bloodstream to the salivary glands where it is excreted with the saliva. Sows sense the pheromone, not via the vomeronasal organ as previously considered, but via the olfactory mucosa.

This work is about popular culture in leisure. Teachers at leisure, on the basis of Education's governing documents working with developing an activity for students when applying the students' own interests. Although these councils are posted, several teachers around the country rejects certain activities or products that the students want to do or play with during their free time at the leisure time. Therefore the purpose of this study is to try to understand what teachers in leisure attitude to popular culture is and if they integrate the popular culture in there activities. To understand this, a qualitative study of interviewed teachers in various leisure was used.

This field study examines how politically active radical feminists have reached their position in a group called Sällskapet. The aim of the study is to examine different paths, with the purpose to gain understanding of how to become a politically active radical feminist. Also, processes of social recognition on the field are examined; what is recognized and what taste preferences and behaviors gain a lower value? The different paths to the feminist position have been examined through a qualitative method consisting of a mixture of interviews and participant observations. The question if the position in Sällskapet requires specific experiences has been analyzed through Pierre Bourdieu?s theoretical framework, with a particular emphasis on the concept of habitus, symbolic- and cultural capital.

This report describes honey, its origin, properties and effects on human health. Honey has been used for a long time in most civilizations and apiculture is an important activity sector in many parts of the world. The trend is an increase in honey production but a decrease in the number of beekeepers in Sweden. Honeybees live in a highly developed society with a strong hierarchy and a well organized distribution of the tasks. They visit a broad spectrum of plants and collect nectar to store it as honey.

Ett flertal studier visar på att en stor del elever väljer att inte äta av skollunchen. Faktorer som smak, miljö, hälsa, sociala, kön och kroppsuppfattning påverkar elevernas val att äta eller inte äta skollunch. Flera projekt med förändringar, som rör skollunchen, har gjorts i olika skolor i Sverige för att få eleverna att njuta mer av skollunchen.I en låg- och mellanstadieskola i västra Sverige har skollunchen blivit ifrågasatt av en förälder och därför har rektorn på skolan bett om hjälp att utreda om skolan har ett problem i frågan. Tillsammans med ett antal aktörer på skolan har vi bedrivit aktionsforskning för att på så sätt inventera eventuella problem kring skollunchen samt undersöka förslag till åtgärder som kan leda till förändring. Aktionsforskning kan ses som en process med den nuvarande kunskapen som utgångspunkt och vi har medverkat till att starta denna process genom definition och inventering av problemen.Resultatet blev att aktörerna inte upplevde maten eller den miljö som den serveras i som ett problem.

It has also been suggested that regulations such as quotas should be imposed, in hopes of getting the gender balance on the board of directors. Measures such as these have been presented when this problem attacks our democratic values about how a society should look like. The aim is to study and analyze whether there is any connection between the return on assets and the proportion of women on company boards.Method: The paper is made from a quantitative with a deductive approach.

The aim of this study is to examine a number of Swedish working public librarians and compare them with some popular standard images of librarians. In this project we have been working in line with these three questions: How do the librarians describe themselves and how can the descriptions be interpreted? What images are the most common and repetitive, according to earlier research? What differences and similarities are there between the images of the librarians and the working librarians? To answer the questions we have performed seven qualitative interviews with working librarians and collected relevant literature that presents various portrayals of librarians. To interpret the interviews we have used Pierre Bourdieus theories of social space, social fields, habitus and the cultural, academic, social and the economic capitals, as well as the connection between individual taste, class and social power. The conclusions of the collected material of earlier research and the interpreted material from the interviews have been compared and discussed.

Today´s debate in farming is being focused on tourism, outdoor life and hobbies in the rural areas. This is of interest also for the general public as a way of counteracting the depopulation of the rural areas. Within the last years, the farming has become more technically advanced and hence efficient. This has led to increased production volumes and wider selection of products with lower margins for the farmer as a consequence. When the profitability is reduced, the farmer is faced with the choice of either increasing efficiency or diversification of the business.
