AbstractThe purpose of this study is to see how technology is presented in different fictional picture books that are available in preschool. Six fictional picture books that have connection to technology in picture and text have been analysed. In order to show how technology can be made visible in fictional picture books, the relation between picture and text has been analysed through a technology perspective. Furthermore, the pictures and the texts have been analysed separately in order to show what they show respectively in terms of technology. The fictional picture book has a potential to be a basis for making technology visible in preschool, which is a step in a new direction.

This thesis was rendered for the client HAGS Aneby AB that is a global leader in playground equipment. The goal of this project was to develop a seesaw that is available for children aged 5-12 years; both with and without disabilities. The project has aimed to develop a seesaw that fits everyone in the target group without looking specially adapted.Children with disabilities have difficulty using today's seesaws because they consist of only a seat and a handle on each side. It requires that the user has strong arms and legs and can sit up without support. HAGS Aneby AB would like to change this.To gain knowledge of the target group and on the different types of disabilities information was sought for on the internet including the RBU's and UNICEF's websites.

Genom min förstudie som bestod av kvalitativa intervjuer med verksamhetsledarna, en enkätundersökning med målgruppen, en omvärldsanalys och två textanalyser kunde jag svara påföljande frågeställningar: Vilka brister finns det i nuvarande medlemsbrevet gällande text, innehåll och form? Min teoriinsamling har utgått från följande frågeställning: Hur kan jag använda mig av de tre principerna för god informationsdesign (läslighet, läsbarhet och läsvärde) för att uppnå harmoni? For example there were only insignificant differences regarding how much of the person?s body that was included in the advertisement, the body position and the activeness of passiveness of the person in question.

The present MA thesis analyzes how body and blood functions as historical and narrative elements in Yu Hua's novel Chronicle of a Blood Merchant (1995). In the novel, the story and the plot can not be regarded as disparate items; the two levels of the text are tightly interwoven by what the thesis introduces as a sangvinolent narration. The term conceptualizes the use of blood as a structural element and the thrust of the text, in this case how the ability to sell blood is a prerequisite for the story and the plot.Close readings reveal the structural correlations between the blood-selling main-character Xu Sanguan in the plot on the one hand, and in the story on the other, which can be detected to have, inter alia, an effect on the temporality of the narrative. Themes linked to identity, belonging and survival (performativity, mimicry, reification and alienation) permeate the text. The aim of the study was to examine how Swedish tabloid journalism presented the contestants in the Swedish version of the reality show Idol 2009. We wanted to see which approaches tabloid news papers use when constructing the public identities of them. We have used text analysis to examine 37 articles and nine front pages with focus on the words, propositions, comparisons and parables that describe four of the contestants. In addition we have looked at myths and connotations shown in the pictures by using a semiotic analysis. The results show that the Swedish tabloids tend to describe the contestants in relation to their performances and personalities.

Uppsatsen ?Vad finns i en bild?? utforskar frågor kring vad som krävs för att bli illustratör samt vad man kan behöva tänka på när man illustrerar någon annans text, sett ur en hobbytecknares perspektiv. Projektet har genomförts genom studier av såväl klassiska bilderböcker som tidigare publikationer på ämnet bilder för barnböcker samt genom en hel del praktiska studier och övningar. Resultatet blev en samling reflektioner omkring skillnaderna mellan att teckna utan krav jämfört med att beskriva någon annans vision, hur man kan använda bilden för att expandera textens betydelse, vad man kan göra när man kör fast, och vilka för eller nackdelar det kan finnas i att välja en tidigare illustrerad text.Illustration är ett stort ämne som är svårt att begränsa och greppa i en kandidatuppsats, icke desto mindre är detta en bra introduktion..

Den här undersökningen handlar om hur flickor respektive pojkar i en årskurs fem använder värderande uttryck i sina narrativa texter. 22 elevtexter, 11 skrivna av flickor och 11 skrivna av pojkar, har analyserats enligt Appraisal framework. Jag har undersökt hur många och vilka typer av värderande uttryck eleverna använder och även hur de har fördelat uttrycken över texterna i förhållande till den narrativa berättelsestrukturen. Resultaten visar att flickorna använder värderande uttryck i större utsträckning än pojkarna. Fördelningen över de olika typerna av värderande uttryck liksom fördelningen av uttrycken över texten är dock ganska likartad för flickorna och pojkarna.This study concerns the use of evaluation in narrative texts written by pupils in fifth grade.
