Ett genomtänkt databassystem består av en väl utformad databas samt lättanvänt användargränsnitt. Brister i dessa punkter kan orsaka irritation och illvilja mot användning av systemet. Syftet med detta uppdrag var att åtgärda dessa brister för vår uppdragsgivare och skräddarsy en lösning utifrån användarnas perspektiv. En webbaserad lösning valdes för att främja mobilitet och tillgänglighet bland företagets anställda. Resultatet blev ett system som bättre stödjer användarna i vardagliga arbetsuppgifter..

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine how the gender system is described in chick lit. The analysis is based upon seven chick lit novels. The primary theoretical point of departure is Yvonne Hirdman?s theory about the gender system, the hierarchical order and the separation of the sexes.

Lantmäteriet använder idag ett verktyg för fastighetsvärdering, detta verktyg består av ett system med spridd arkitektur för att lagra fastighetsdata och geografisk information. Studien syftar till att undersöka vad det finns för alternativa tekniker och lösningar för att integrera spatialdata och fastighetsdata i samma databas. För att finna svar på detta analyseras litteratur, svar från enkäter som besvarats av slutanvändare samt resultat från djupintervjuer av systemexpter. Resultatet visar att tekniker som t.ex. ArcSDE och Oracle Spatial kan lösa det angivna problemet.

The aim of this study is to look into the correctional system?s work with parent ship of incarcerated mothers and fathers from a gender perspective. It is a qualitative study and two interviews have been done with employees from a prison for women and one interview from a prison for men. Two interviews have been done with two former incarcerated parents, one mother and one father. One interview has also been done with an organization which gives children with incarcerated parents support and an opportunity to meet other children in the same situation.

This thesis was developed as an assignment from Ludosity Interactive where the goal was to develop a copy of the Xbox Live Indie Games-marketplace from the Xbox 360. Ludosity Interactive had a necessity to easily test a game's attractiveness to potential customers using testing people from outside the company in a simulated Xbox Live Indie Games test environment; excluding this developed system there is no other way to do such an analysis without actually releasing the game on the Xbox Live Indie Games marketplace and then analyze the resulting sales from the product.The finished system had to be similar to the original system to the degree that a user could see past the interface itself and use the system just as he/she would have used the real marketplace. It also had to be easy to change and add games to the system so that Ludosity Interactive easily could show the games and the data that they deemed interesting for their tests. A well known optimization-problem of multiprocessor system is scheduling of tasks. In this paper I use a variant of previous known algoritm, (Fast Critical Path) for scheduling real-time tasks on a multiprocessor system. This is made in a simulation study in MATLAB. The system architecture is assumed to be a MIMD- machine, (Multiple Instruction stream Multiple Data stream) with bus-typologi and message-architecture. Scheduling was made on this system where the number of processors varying from five to ten.

Syftet med arbetet är att söka förstå och beskriva hur formgivare förhåller sig till begreppet hållbar utveckling och hur det påverkar val och riktningar i formgivningsprocessen. Som formgivare finns det skäl att ifrågasätta motiven till nyproduktion i en tid då konsumtion och produktion ökar, samtidigt som miljöhot, ekonomiska och sociala orättvisor är påtagliga. Hållbar utveckling är målsättningen för Förenta nationernas globala arbete och handlingsplan Agenda 21. Svensk lagstiftning har sedan 1999 hållbar utveckling som målsättning i den så kallade Miljöbalken.Genom att intervjua tre formgivare om deras förhållningssätt till begreppet hållbar utveckling och ringa in yttre villkor för hållbar utveckling söktes syftet uppnås. Resultatet visar att begreppet rör sig i många olika former och det uppfattas personligt.

The objective of this work was to evaluate and implement a number of energy saving functions for a specific embedded system. The functions were then grouped into a number of energy levels with known properties in terms of functionality, energy consumption, and transition time between the levels.The embedded system consisted of an AT91 ARM9 processor, GSM/GPRS modem, display, Ethernet and other peripheral units. Some energy saving methods that were considered were suspend to RAM, suspend to disk, frequency scaling, and methods for saving energy in the modem, Ethernet, USB and display backlight. The functions were grouped into levels and an interface was specified for controlling the energy level.It proved possible to get known properties within the defined energy levels, even though the paritioning of functions into these levels proved to be sub-optimal in a typical application usage scenario because it was designed for mainly energy consumption, not usage.The final result is a number of energy saving functions grouped into levels, which are controllable via an application interface. The company Sound Precision has developed a new Line Array loudspeaker system (VHA-40). When using this system, their customers need computer aid to get the best possible sound-quality and control of sound levels for the whole audience. The aim of this thesis is to develop a truly useful sound quality simulator for the VHA-40. The system will help the sound engineers to position the loudspeakers for optimal sound by simulating loudspeaker configurations and visualizing the resulting sound quality and quantity. To solve this a human-centered design (HCD) approach is taken to implement a system that is truly useful for the users, meaning that they will use it more and hence deliver better sound for the audience.

Everyone can help to counteract the enhanced Greenhouse effect by reducing the amounts of energy they use and by not consuming more products then they need.Schools are some of societies many consumers and therefore contribute to the Greenhouse effect. The School also has an important task; to teach and disseminate knowledge and information about the climate and the environment. According to the Swedish National Agency for Education, Skolverket, must all schools regularly consider the environment and sustainable development throughout the entire education process. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many schools in Sweden today.One of many tools that can be used to coordinate environmental work and initiatives, and also to make it more efficient, is environmental management systems.
