Möjligheter till ökat utnyttjande av fosfor genom grödan med mineralgödselmedel

The objective of this thesis is to explore opportunities to enhance the phosphorus use efficiencyof inorganic fertilizers in crop production, with techniques available today and in thefuture. Phosphorus is a finite resource of declining quality; therefore a phosphorus use efficiencyin crop production of only 15-30 % is unacceptable. The main reason for low efficiencyis the retention by Ca and Mg in calcareous soils and Fe and Al in non-calcareoussoils. Due to the low mobility of phosphorus, plant uptake is mainly dependent on root growthrather than diffusion. Therefore, measurements need to be taken that benefit contact betweenroot and fertilizer, before fertilizer phosphorus becomes unavailable to the plant.

GPS som verktyg vid gatudrift

Luleå kommun funderar på att införskaffa ett GPS-baserat kvalitets- och uppföljningssystem för gatudrift. Detta för att få en bättre kontroll på vilka aktiviteter inom gatudrift som har utförts samt när och vart de har utförts. Detta arbete åt Luleå kommun syftar till att utvärdera hur ett GPS- baserat kvalitets- och uppföljningssystem kan användas inom kommunal gatudrift. Vilken data som kan genereras från ett sådant system och hur den ska användas. Arbetet har genomförts som en fallstudie med uteslutande kvalitativt material.

Misslyckade IT-projekt : Vilken fas i systemutvecklingens livscykel är mest bidragande

Many IT projects that have been developed in recent years are often considered to be unsuccessful. According to a study by Exido up to the 72% of all IT projects are considered to be failed. A failed IT projects means that the organizations that have ordered the new system may have higher costs or/and the system will not be ready in time. If costs are too high the new system might not be installed in the organization or if the system is not completed within the specified time frame the organization can become stagnant.In this paper we conduct an investigation of the failure of IT projects there we will examine where, in the systems development lifecycle four different phases, projects fail. We will conduct an empirical study of each phase, where we describe the key steps in the process; we will also investigate failed IT projects that are linked to the current phase.

Arkeologi som kulturarvsförmedlare och kulturarvsturism ? ett möjligt samarbete?

For some time now, there has been a debate concerning the relationship between the Cultural Heritage of Sweden and the public. It is said that mediation has been, and still is a, one-waydialog between the two. As a result, people have found a new way to interact with our heritage, thru cultural tourism. This area has been blamed for commercializing our CulturalHeritage, but also ignoring the great problems concerning fragile monuments and sites, which can be destroyed by tourism. Is it possible to find a solution regarding these problems, andcan these two areas benefit from each other?.

Energikartläggning inom kvarteret Körsbäret i Växjö

I studien jämförs värmeförluster och vattenförbrukning mellan ett horisontellt och ett vertikalt varmvattencirkulationssystem (vvc-system).I studien ges även ett förslag på hur en energikartläggning kan utföras med hjälp av mätning.Resultatet tyder på att man sparar vatten genom ett vertikal vvc men att systemet har högre värmeförluster och elanvändning än ett horisontellt system.

This thesis is the result of the investigation and solution of a mechanicalproblem regarding flywheel malfunctions. A flywheel is, in short, a devicethat relies on a rotating object?s moment of inertia to store energy overshort time spans. This project is part of the development of a fourthflywheel prototype at the division for electricity at Uppsala university,which uses magnetic levitation to keep a hollow cylinder rotating at veryhigh speeds inside a vacuum chamber. Should the magnets fail however, orsome other error occur that leads to an uncontrolled state of rotation, thecylinder needs to be stabilized mechanically by a device usually referredto as ?back-up bearing?.

Kommunikation med hjälp av mock-uper

In several cases, systems that have been developed have been very time consuming and cost a lot of money, but they still do not fulfil the users requirements and requests. To make new systems better, you have to find a way to communicate that allows the developers to understand the needs of the user. The aim for our thesis is to highlight the importance of communication in system development. To investigate this we have choosen to do a study of the real-estate system. The work methods that have been used include mock-ups and informal conversations with the user, who is employed by the Church of Sweden in Ronneby.

Viktiga strategier vid implementering av beslutsstödjande system

I denna studie har vi undersökt vilka strategier som är viktiga att beakta vid implementering av beslutsstödjande system. Vi har utgått från Alters (1980) teori, där han beskriver ett antal strategier som delas in i olika kategorier, och jämfört denna med empirin som vi undersökt vid tre företag. Vår undersökning visar att de olika strategierna inte beaktas och tillämpas i lika stor utsträckning. I vår undersökning har vi funnit att strategierna som ingår i kategorin utveckla en tillfredsställande grund är särskilt viktiga att beakta. Vi har även funnit grund för en kompletterande strategi som behandlar vikten av att identifiera, möta och säkerställa informationsbehovet hos intressenterna..

Business Intelligence : Vilka av de utlovade fördelarna motsvaras av högskolor och universitets förväntningar?

Det första systemet som skapades för att integrera alla affärstransaktioner var ERP-systemet som skapades 1960. Detta system samlar verksamhetens data i olika databaser och för att kunna hantera och analysera denna data har utvecklare skapat ett BI-system. Detta system extraherar data och omvandlar den till användbar information som kan bidra till en underlättad och förbättrad styrning. Författarna av viss litteratur påstår att information är viktig för alla verksamheter då det är avgörande för ett beslutsfattande. Med hjälp av ett BI-system kan verksamheten få denna efterfrågade information samt att chefer med hjälp av systemet kan fatta taktiska och strategiska beslut. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva högskolor och universitets förväntningar på ett BI-system och jämföra dessa med de fördelar som viss litteratur utlovar.

DDC:s avdelning 150 : en analys av psykologins klassifikation under perioden 1932-2011

This master?s thesis focus on Dewey Decimal Classification during the period 1932 to 2011, where the classification of the psychological knowledge domain is analyzed and discussed. In the light of the recent swedish switch from the swedish classification system SAB to DDC, this research area deserves prominence. The aim of this study is to investigate how DDC represents the historical development of the psychology subject with its underlying epistemology, to identify and analyze values and prejudice, and to analyze problems with DDC?s classification of psychology in relation to three other classification systems.

Effekter av ett informationsintensivt material- och produktionsstyrningssystem

We were assigned to do this master thesis by Husqvarna AB who at the time for this thesis just had implemented a new material and production planning system called Replenishment system. Husqvarna AB wanted us to examine the effects of their new planning system to see if it was profitable or not. Husqvarna AB had for a time considered their delivery and supplier service to bee their biggest problem and they wanted to solve this problem by improving the communication with all involved actors in the logistic chain, which they hoped would result in a better mix of products in their warehouses. The aim of this report was therefor to analyze eventual effects for Husqvarna AB when changing from a traditional material- and production planing system to a more information intensive one. The result of this report showed effects on decreasing administrational routines and improved flexibility and lead-times.

Laboratory adjustment to the new regulation on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures.

The United Nations has, during many years, developed a model for a globally harmonized system for classification and labeling of chemicals, with the aim of it becoming a global standard. This system is implemented in the European Union through the CLP-regulation and is now working parallel to the existing directives until 1st of June 2015, when all the new classifications of substances and mixtures must be completed. The aim of this project was to adjust the laboratory to the new legislation, through inventory of stored chemicals, update the list of chemicals and perform self-classifications of mixtures. The work included handling of about 650 different chemicals with varying hazard classifications and search for information in corporate websites and chemical databases. This resulted in a new and complete list of chemicals stored and used in the laboratory and, in addition, an example of how to make a self classification of a mixture.

Comparison of three IVC systems for mice, with focus on growth and nest building in juvenile mice

Today the individual ventilated cage system (IVC-system) is the most commonly used system when housing rodents. IVC systems are designed to control both supply and exhausted air at cage level, as well as temperature and relative humidity in the cages. This creates an optimal environment for the mouse and at the same time a protection against the risk of cross-infection between cages and the outside environment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the health and welfare for two different strains of laboratory mice (NMRI nude mice and C57BL/6NCrl mice) in three different kinds of IVC-systems; Arrowmight, Allentown and Tecniplast. 108 mouse pups from each strain (in total 216 mice) were selected after weaning at an age of three weeks and tested during 5 weeks.

Utsikten : Hållbara uppvärmningsalternativ för vandrarhemmet på Finnhamn

Finnhamn is a small group of islands in the Stockholm archipelago. At Stora Jolpan, the biggest island, there is a hostel. The main building was built in 1915 and is called Utsikten. The purpose of this project is to on behalf of the Archipelago Foundation (Skärgårdsstiftelsen) find alternative systems that can replace the existing heating system of Utsikten (an oil-fired boiler and electricity heaters) to a system with renewable energy. The alternative system that this project focuses on is a system of solar collectors combined with a wood chip boiler.

Mätning av abrasivflöde för vattenskärningsmaskiner

The content of the following report is the summarized result of three students thesis at Blekinge Institute of Technology in co-operation with Water Jet Sweden AB. This report will give the reader a description of principles how to measure the abrasive mass flow in a waterjet cutting system. The work began with a visit to Water Jet Sweden AB to get a closer look at the problem. When the analysis of the problem was done the criteria were defined in the form of demands and desires. The main task of the criteria was to guide the search for the solution.
