In the dog breed Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (NSDTR) several dogs suffer from joint pain and possibly pain from the muscles. This diffuse disease is called Immune-mediated Non- Erosive Arthritis in Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. The disease is most likely of autoimmune nature where the etiology still is unknown. The musculoskeletal symptoms of stiffness and shifting lameness are intermittently seen. Some dogs also have dermatological changes and some dogs suffer from pain when opening their mouth. The study included 20 diseased and 20 healthy NSDTR. The purpose was to describe immune-mediated arthritis in NSDTR based on symptoms, results of analysis and effect of treatment. Among the diseased dogs 65% had serum positive for antinuclear antibodies by indirect immunofluorescense (IIF) ANA-test.

Septic tenosynovitis involving the digital sheath is a relatively common problem in the horse and the prognosis has been considered as poor. However, there are only few studies confirming this. The purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge about the prognosis for septic tenosynovitis in the digital sheath. The literature indicates that half or a bit more than half of the treated horses will return to previous use. The recommended treatment is debridement of the wound, lavage and sometimes application of drains and broadspectrum antibiotics. The prognosis is considered as worse when the infection is established.

Det har lÀnge funnits ambitioner att förbÀttra rörelse genom ökad medvetenhet. Feldenkraismetoden Àr en metod för att förbÀttra rörelse genom förhöjd rörelsemedvetenhet och Àr förenlig med nutida vetenskap men förhÄllandevis lite empirisk forskning stöder metodens effektivitet. De flesta tidigare studier har varit pÄ nÄgon form av dysfunktion och ofta subjektiv upplevelse snarare Àn objektiva vÀrden. Det har varit svÄrt för Feldenkraispedagoger att finna rÀtt mÀtmetoder för att utvÀrdera metoden.Syfte: Studiens syfte Àr att utvÀrdera effekten av trÀning för ökad rörelsemedvetenhet enligt Feldenkraismetoden pÄ rörelse hos friska personer genom kvantitativ mÀtning.Metod: Friska kvinnor i en experimentgrupp (n=4, 30±7 Är) och en kontrollgrupp (n=4, 26±2 Är) testades med fem kvantitativa rörelsetester; one-leg standing balance, one-leg standing long jump, standing triple jump, star excursion balance test och upper quarter Y-balance test, innan och efter en intervention ledd av en auktoriserad Feldenkraispedagog dÀr experimentgruppen genomgick tio trÀningsfÀllen enligt Feldenkraismetoden under fem veckors tid.Resultat: Signifikant förbÀttring (P?0,05) i förhÄllande till bÄde förtest och kontrollgrupp sÄgs vid star excursion balance test för vÀnster ben.Slutsats: TrÀning för ökad rörelsemedvetenhet enligt Feldenkraismetoden verkar kunna leda till förbÀttring i kvantitativt mÀtt rörelse hos friska kvinnor.

The aim of the present study was to estimate the correlation between Euro NCAP pedestrian rating scores and injury outcome in real-life car to pedestrian crashes, with special focus on long-term disability. The study also surveyed most frequently injured body regions and risk differences for specific elements of pedestrians hit by cars. Another aim was to determine whether Brake Assist systems affect the injury outcome in real-life car to pedestrian crashes and to estimate the effect in injury reduction of a high Euro NCAP ranking score combined with Brake Assist.In the current study, the Euro NCAP pedestrian scoring was compared with the real-life outcome in pedestrian crashes that occurred in Sweden 2003-2010. The real-life crash data was obtained from the data acquisition system STRADA, which combines police records and hospital admission data. The medical data consisted of International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD) diagnoses and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) scoring.

Nowadays technology offers highly insulating windows, which is why there is an interest to investigate the indoor climate with only underfloor heating. The research in this area is limited, and few empirical methods are available.
