In many regulated rivers, authorities have stocked hatchery salmon to compensate for loss of wild populations. However, hatchery fish have not always behaved as wild fish do, and stocking them has not always fully compensated for the loss of wild fish. The purpose of this study was to compare swimming behaviour in the river before spawning, the choice of spawning areas and body size between wild and hatchery-reared salmon in the river Klarälven. Salmon behaviour in the river before spawning was analyzed using radio telemetry. The salmon were caught at Forshaga power plant, radio-tagged and returned to Klarälven at Ekshärad, 107 km from the river?s mouth.

The study examines the massacre of the garrison of the castle of Kalmar in 1525 and its causes. The goal of the investigation has been on the one hand to elucidate the most probable sequence of events, and on the other to identify as many different plausible explanations to the massacre as possible. For this end, four contemporary sources have been examined and compared in their details. To enable a broad basis for interpretation, the author has consulted various works on the themes of warfare, soldiers and violence in the late middle ages and the sixteenth century. Apart from political aspects, the study highlights social and cultural conditions as important factors in explaining how the massacre could be carried out without provoking any single part of society.

AbstractThe aim with the study was to describe and to compare nurse students' views about importantcaring behaviors in order to give good caring. An empirical comparative study wasimplemented on a college in the middle of Sweden. Nurse students in the beginning and at theend of their education sorted and prioritized 50 caring behaviors (CARE-Q). The result showedthat the students' description of important caring behaviors has many similarities. However, theresult also showed that there were significant differences between the student-groups where thestudents at the beginning of their education rated several caring behavior as significant moreimportant than the students in the end of their education.

Purpose: To evaluate how a treatment period on four weeks in a warm climate influences physical function, condition and the patient's experience of the climate effect of patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Method: 10 persons with a diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis went through four weeks of treatment on Centro Forestal Sueco, Marbella. The treatment consisted of both physical and theoretic lessons given of a rehabilitation team. All patients were examinated measured for physical function and condition before treatment, after two weeks and at the end of the treatment. To measure physical function, Timed-Stands Test, Timed Get Up and Go, The Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index, Index of muscle function and functionestimitation of shoulder/arm were used.

During the last Century a tremendously technical advancement has taken place and brought a change in society, which has affected workplaces in a monumental way. Many heavily and moveable physical working tasks at the work placement have been replaced with much easier and sedentary tasks.Two of the major reasons for sick absence in Sweden are illness in the locomotive organs and pain, which can be treated and prevented with physical activity on a large scale. Many employers offer their employees? subsidized exercise cards, which can be used during their free time. A health care exercise hour is one benefit that employers can offer their employees and normally takes place once a week during fully paid working time.

The avowed aim in this project was to see how the Swedish egg production is today. My first question was if the Swedish egg producers egg production turn a profit. I have done five after calculation at five different egg producers with different systems from case to case. The difference has been the living system, the fodder and the egg price. They made a report in Uppsala, Sweden (Hoffman & Andersson, 1996), where the look forward to a Swedish cage ban and made calculations after that coming ban. After that they lift the Swedish ban of cages and the egg producers could invest in new cages who called the decorated cage.

Inledning: Mycket diskussion har förts kring nedskrivningsprövningen av goodwill och de tydliga element av subjektivitet och bedömning som den präglas av. Då mer subjektivitet kännetecknar värderingen av goodwill än andra tillgångsposter leder det till att ledningen kan påverka nedskrivningen i större utsträckning än vad gäller nedskrivningen av andra tillgångar. Syfte: Studien syftar till att jämföra en teoretiskt framräknad diskonteringsränta och företagens egna diskonteringsränta, och en eventuell skillnad mellan dessa diskonteringsräntor. Ett antal förklaringsvariabler kommer undersökas för att se om dessa kan förklara en eventuell differens.Metod: I studien har en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod använts där redovisningsmässiga siffror har hämtas in samt studerats med hjälp av CAPM-modellen.Analys och slutsats: Analysen fastställer att det förekommer en skillnad mellan redovisad och teoretisk diskonteringsränta. Studiens slutsats är att det som är mest bidragande till de kraftiga skillnaderna mellan diskonteringsräntorna är utformningen av IAS 36. Detta beror till största del på att värderingen av goodwill baseras på osäkra antaganden och bedömningar. Förslag till vidare forskning: Förslag till vidare forskning är att göra en liknande studie men över en längre tidsperiod eller undersöka andra faktorer i nedskrivningsprövningen än diskonteringsräntan.

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka ifall vinstmanipulering förekommer bland företagen på Nasdaq OMX Nordic samt att analysera ifall att VD-byte är kopplat till detta fenomen. Metod: Studien har använt sig av Den Modifierade Jonesmodellen som är en periodiseringsbaserad modell för vinstmanipulering. Undersökningen är en kvantitativ studie och har utgått från årsredovisningar mellan åren 2007-2011 från börsnoterade bolag på Stockholms Mid Cap lista, totalt 295 observationer. Fyra hypoteser blir statistiskt testade. Teori: Denna del tar upp flera teorier som är kopplade till uppsatsens undersökning, bland annat genom Agentteorin och Designad redovisning.

In this study potential health risks for employees in connection with handling of bottom ash and bottom ash water at a Municipal Waste Incineration (MWI) plant have been investigated. Air surrounding the bottom ash and the bottom ash water has been examined. MWI is one of the primary ways to manage solid household waste, and bottom ash is the main solid residue produced by the incineration process. Bottom ash constitutes about 15-20% of the original waste. The bottom ash is extinguished in a water bath (bottom ash water).The study was carried out in a MWI plant in Karlstad, Sweden.

Syfte: Vårt syfte är att analysera svenska bolags goodwillpost för att ta reda på vilka faktorer som driver nedskrivningar av goodwill och hur bolagens ägare skyddar sig mot earnings management.Studieunderlag: För att undersöka vårt syfte kommer denna rapport undersöka hälsovårdsbolag som är noterade på Nasdaq OMX Stockholms Large Cap-, Mid Cap- och Small Caplista. De år som kommer behandlas är från de nya reglerna trädde i kraft fram till den senast publicerade årsredovisningen (2005 - 2013).

This report will show the energy usage of Hotel Princess in Sandviken, Sweden. When the hotel changed owner an examination of the hotels heating, ventilation and sanitary systems were done. The report showed flaws in the ventilation system, and is why the new owner wanted a closer look at the energy use of the hotel. The original building was built in the 1930s and two major extensions have been built, one in the 1950s and the most recent in the 1980s. An assumption made is that the building parts were built to the restrictions during the time. Activities on the hotel include sleep over, conference, night club, massage and swimming in the hotels pool section.

This Master?s Thesis aims to investigate and assess the methods used to decrease the discharge ofmetals, primarily copper, from the water purification plant at Assa Industries plating factory inEskilstuna.Literature studies of the purification methods precipitation, ion exchange, evaporation, reverseosmosis and electrolysis has been done to appraise the adequacy of the technique. Thesetechniques are commonly used for purification of industrial waste water.Assa has four plating lines: the Trumline, the big Zinkline, the new Zinkline and the Decorativeline. The new Zinkline is the most modern of the four lines and purification is done byrecirculation over an ion exchange unit. The demand for fresh water is thereby heavily reduced.The Trumline, the big Zinkline and the Decorative line all use older techniques.
