Uppsatsen handlar om hur genus görs på barn genom film. Sju olika filmer har studerats, samtliga filmer går att låna från MediaCenter vilket gör det troligt att de kan komma att visas i klassrummet. Jag undersöker om filmvisandet förstärker eller rekonstruerar könsroller, om de bryter mot läroplanens vilja att motverka traditionella könsmönster. Vilken roll kan filmerna tänkas ha i görandet och dekonstruktionen av genus? Hur görs manlighet? Hur görs kvinnlighet? Hur representeras de olika könen? Jag blandar mina observationer med genusteori.

Dagens film och spelkoncept inom genrerna science fiction och fantasy börjar likna varandra mer och mer och för oss känns inget längre annorlunda. Genom att basera dem på historiska samhällen och kulturer hoppas vi på att bryta normen. Vi hoppas att med detta som grund kunna skapa realistiska och trovärdiga folkslag som skiljer sig från det som funnits tidigare. Detta examensarbete handlar om konceptutveckling av en fiktiv värld och tre fiktiva folkslag. Konceptet skall kunna appliceras på både film och spel men även litteratur eller andra medietekniska områden.

Detta är en studie kring hur filmer framställer olika grupper som risker, till exempel muslimer som terrorister. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie av tre spelfilmer, nämligen Rambo III, Belägringen och The Kingdom samt en dokumentärfilm; Det svider i hjärtat. I dessa filmer har vi tittat efter hur muslimer framställs. The background to the work bases on the consumers view around Swedish and foreign meat products, and how the attitude around the meat products is pursued in the shops. The consumers request high meat quality and security . Many consumers value local produced and ecological meat products but the price is too high. We have done verbal interviews with consumers on three different shops, where we asked questions and had dialogues around Swedish meat products where the consumers have told us their arguments and opinions about Swedish and foreign meat. The result shows that the majority of consumers consider that it is important to know that meat is produce in Sweden.

The aim of the study was to examine how Swedish tabloid journalism presented the contestants in the Swedish version of the reality show Idol 2009. We wanted to see which approaches tabloid news papers use when constructing the public identities of them. We have used text analysis to examine 37 articles and nine front pages with focus on the words, propositions, comparisons and parables that describe four of the contestants. In addition we have looked at myths and connotations shown in the pictures by using a semiotic analysis. The results show that the Swedish tabloids tend to describe the contestants in relation to their performances and personalities.

This study highlights the stereotypical depictions of journalists in film using a narrative analysis of four major Hollywood productions, starting with All the President?s Men from 1976 through The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo from 2011. Its purpose is to highlight traits given to journalists in the movies and re-occuring themes in the portrayal of the media and the journalistic occupation. Differences and commonalities between the films are concluded in a discussion of ethics, personalities and the media?s self image.

The aim of this paper is to examine the American movie trailer particularly its history, marketing and functions, presented as an historical overview from the serials of the early 1910s to the trailers of today. A trailer from each decade of the twentieth- and twenty-first centuries is selected which represent typical trends and shows how trailers historically functioned, including their formal, generic differences.The introduction focuses on the market in which the trailer operates, and raises the issue of the entertainment value of art or marketing, how the film industry works and to role of advertising. The second part of the introduction focuses on the development of film stars, and their importance in trailer campaigns. This brings in the question of the growth of Hollywood and new media forms/technologies. Denna avhandling tar upp filmmusiken i Fantastic Mr. Fox.Syftet är mer specifikt att ta reda på vad musiken har för funktion i filmen, hur man använder musiken för att hjälpa till att föra fram handlingen och varför använder man sig av både egen komponerad musik och redan befintlig musik.Urvalet av låtar är grundat på hur stor betydelse de har för samspelet mellan musik och bild.Metoden som är använd är ett närstuderande, eller snarare ett närlyssnande, av musiken i filmen med hjälp av teoretisk grund i tidigare forskning och litteratur.Texten behandlar dels de låtar som är specifikt komponerade för filmen och dels de som är tagna utifrån, det vill säga redan befintlig musik, som har använts i filmen.Genom en diskussion utrönas också det olika musikala beståndsdelarnas viktigare element där diskussionen utmynnar i en jämförelse mellan de två musikala huvudgrupperna, det vill säga de sammanställda (de redan befintliga) låtarna och de sammansatta (de speciellt komponerade) låtarna.Avhandlingen slutar med att diskutera olika metoder man kan använda sig av för att studerna musiken i Fantastic Mr. Fox och även att förklara resultaten i analysen mer djupgående..

Denna uppsats undersöker hur samma historiska händelse kan ha olika betydelser i film. Idag är människor mer benägna att se en film om en historisk händelse än att läsa en historiebok, och detta innebär att vi måste lära oss att förstå de konventioner som används för att placera historia på film. Historiefilmen kan sägas besitta en palimpsestisk historiskt medvetenhet där lager av fakta och myt smälter samman, hellre än att skiljas åt. Men för att en historisk händelse ska passa in i filmens tidsram måste den bearbetas och detta resulterar i att vissa människor, händelser och rörelser prioriteras, medan andra utesluts. Därför undersöker denna uppsats vad som lagts till / uteslutits och effekterna på sammanhanget och trovärdighet, hur filmen hävdar sin autenticitet, och hur upphovsmannen påverkar trovärdigheten.

The purpose with this essay is to get a deeper insight into why there is a lack of male educators in Swedish preschools. I also want to know which role the male educators have in comparison to the female educators. This essay builds on four questions, which covers:The cause of the lack of males in Swedish preschoolsIf there are any gender bound expectations on male educators in the Swedish preschoolsWhat the woman educators perceive about the roles of the male educators in the Swedish preschoolsHow the male educator experience his own work in a workplace dominated by womenThe method I have used is a qualitative interview study in which I have interviewed four male educators and two woman educators from three different preschools. The result of this study shows that male educators gave different reasons to why there is a lack of male educators in Swedish childcare. According to the male educators the reason for this situation is that there is a worry to be seen as a feminine person, get singled out as a pedophile and that the childcare sector has low status.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate if there was a difference in the tear film?s osmolarity before and after drinking coffee. 'Method: All subjects in this study were asked to fill in a questionnaire to diagnose factors in their subjective symptoms, the questionnaire TERTC-DEQ. The subjects with a total graduated points of over 17 were not allowed to participate in the further measurements. In the study there was a total amount of 38 subjects, were 5 participated twice for both measurements, coffee and water.

 The purpose of this case study was to view if there were any differences and similarities between Swedish and American female leaders, with focus on the Swedish female leaders. We also wanted to find out if the American female leaders had problem whit the classcelling.Our case study is a quality method, because we wanted to reach the dep't that quality methods can reach. We interviewed four Swedish female leaders and tried to get in touch whit American female leaders but whit out any success. So instead we analyzed already existing research about the American female leadership. Our result showed that there were some differences between the two countries; in the same time we also found similarities. The classcelling tends to exist more in Sweden than in the US.   .

The aim of this two-year masters thesis is to look for the Swedish public library´s core business, using theories about competence. The approach is qualitative. It is done by studying the Unesco Public Library Manifesto, the Swedish library legislation, the education in library and information science, two important Swedish library related journals and by asking public librarians about their work and point of view regarding competence.The research shows mainly two sides of the core competence of public librarians: information technology competence and literature knowledge. The conclusion is that the two meet in the idea of mass education, which could therefore be called the Swedish public library´s core business..
