Ett företags värdeskapande aktiviteter kan indelas i operativa, investerings- samt finansieringsaktiviteter. Företagets framgång avgörs i hög grad av kvalitén på de beslut som fattas med avseende på de värdeskapande aktiviteterna. Finansieringsbeslutet innefattar sammansättningen av kapitalstrukturen dvs. andelen eget kapital och skulder som finansierar verksamheten. Inom corporate finance finns ett antal teorier som förklarar denna sammansättning och mest känd är Miller & Modiglianis teori om kapitalstrukturens irrelevans för maximering av bolagets värde.

Year 1996 a new law was introduced in Sweden, the law of corporate restructuring, what purpose was to help companies in financial distress. Now, nine years later the procedure hasn?t been successful. This is what this thesis is trying to find out.This thesis main question is: What distinguishes the companies that have filed for a corporate restructuring, according to the financial position?The purpose of this thesis is to find out if key ratios can be used to distinguish the companies that filed for corporate restructuring.

Syftet med vår uppsats är att undersöka och analysera hur en koncern via Corporate Branding integrerar och implementerar ett redan existerande koncept i ett förvärvat företag/kedja. Då Corporate Branding handlar om att bygga upp, förstärka och förmedla ett affärskoncept till både interna och externa intressenter, har vi, för att ge en heltäckande bild av processen, valt att undersöka och analysera båda dessa aspekter. Vår problemformulering bestod bland annat av följande frågor; Vilka förändringar har uppstått vid förvärvet? Vad händer med ett företags organisationsstruktur, kultur och identitet inför och efter ett förvärv? Hur har det förvärvande företaget använt sig av Corporate Branding för att implementera ett existerande affärskoncept i vårt fallföretag? Vilka reaktioner har uppstått internt och externt i samband med förvärvet? Hur skiljer sig de båda affärskoncepten från varandra? Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ fallstudie, samt en kvantitativ studie i form av enkätundersökning. Teorikapitlet är uppdelat i fyra delar och består av organisationsstrukturer, förvärvsteorier, intern samt extern Corporate Branding.

Today, there is no uniform definition of what an ethical fund is. Fund management companies choose themselves what they believe is ethical and not. The lack of the definition makes it difficult for consumers to understand why these funds are special compared to other funds. The purpose of this study is to examine three Swedish companies; KPA Pension, Swedbank Robur and Folksam, to obtain a clearer picture of the concept ethical funds and its definition. The study describes each company's view of Ethics and how they may affect other companies to work for a more sustainable world.

Background: Theoretical, it?s been questioned why dividends exists in companies based upon the fact that there is a separation between ownership and control. According to the agency theoretical perception, dividends is used as a manner to unify the interest of this separation, which in turn lower the agency cost, and increase the efficiency of companies.Purpose: The aim of this master thesis is to scrutinize and analyse the association between Swedish firms? owner structure and owner types and their inclination to dividend.Method: We attack the problem with a hypothetical-deductive research method by using the existence of a universal theory, the agency theory. From our theoretical framework we propose a set of hypotheses.

Interest deduction limitation rules have an important function as the regulations prevent the Swedish tax base to decrease. However, the restrictions must not be at the expense of the business environment. Interest deduction limitation rules that do not work in a satisfactory manner are likely to make Sweden a less favourable country to establish in. The first Swedish rules which were aimed to restrict interest deduction threaded into force in 2009. The rules were applicable to intercompany loans related to acquisitions of part ownership rights and the aim was to reduce tax avoidance through corporate group-loans. The rules proved to be ineffective since the avoidance continued and the Swedish rules could not tackle the problem.

The real estate industry is a sector where the companies generally have a capital structure which is high leveraged. The financing? with the related terms ? is therefore specifically of high importance for the companies in the sector. Traditionally, the way of obtain financing is by borrowing from the bank. Lately, due to new bank regulations, the banks have become more restrictive in their lending which have lead to a growth of other financing alternatives.

In this study we have focused on the operational management of the public pre-school in Sweden. We have studied how the governance system is designed, why it is designed this way and what impact it has on the operational management. This has been analyzed from a theory stating that there are two types of organizations: pay-driven and function-driven. Through a case and document study we came to the conclusion that the pre-school is a function-driven organization but is nowadays acting on a market and have adopted characteristics of a pay-driven organization. We connect this change to the phenomenon New Public Management.

Abstract   This degree project comprises 30 credits, i.e. 20 weeks of work. The work mainly deals with the energy balance for a multi-family house in Västerås and the requirements for energy conservation in the Swedish building code, BBR. Calculations of the energy balance are supplemented by a number of interviews. Energy conservation in general has become more important in recent years and the subject is in line with increased public awareness. This importance and attention is explained by environmental problems in general and global warming in particular, but also by rising energy prices.

There are several ways of conducting software testing where some may include users and others may include personnel whose work task is to execute test on systems. Although most developers and project managers understand the point of testing the system, it is not always being done and the most common reason is that there is no time for it. However, this is a false assumption as it may instead cause some bugs in the system that would not have been there in the first place if tests had been there to prevent bugs in the code.My purpose for this thesis was to find suggestions for changes in the development process in an ongoing project used by Acino and Svenska Försäkringsfabriken in order to increase the quality of the system used. In this thesis, I have approached the purpose by pursuing a case study of the two companies through observation and interviews. By doing this I acquired the relevant information to make suggestions for change.

Bredbandsutbyggnaden i Sverige sker med rasande fart och på landsbygden sker den med hjälp av lokala krafter. Den här kandidatuppsatsen inom ämnet landsbygdsutveckling syftar till att undersöka hur en fiberförening i Värmland har organiserat sig och hur människor har upplevt och påverkats av etableringen. För att uppnå detta görs en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning med sex personer i Västerrottna, som har varit mer eller mindre engagerade i projektet. Materialet analyseras med fokus på socialt kapital och governance. Resultaten visar att drivkrafterna bakom varför man väljer att mobilisera sig skiljer sig åt, samtidigt som tillit, nätverk och mötesplatser är viktiga delar i bredbandsetableringen..

This thesis discusses the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility, which means that companies are taking a voluntary accountability towards the society with a view to improve it. Today's stakeholders and people in general have higher demands and expectations on businesses and its products or services than before. This is driving more and more companies to consider questions like voluntary responsibility so that they can maintain public confidence. Confidence towards the banking sector is particularly important to avoid financial crises. Our study focuses on leadership impact on CSR.

Inom Svensk hälso- och sjukvård sker en stor förändring i IT-infrastruktur. En nationell tjänsteplattform som ska möjligt delning av information mellan vårdgivare i olika regioner har implementerats. Flera landsting och regioner har implementerat liknande arkitekturer lokalt för att uppnå samma effekt även internt, men också för att underlätta uppkoppling till den nationella lösningen.Genom en kvalitativ fallstudie undersöker denna uppsats implementationen av en regional tjänsteplattform i Stockholms Läns Landsting med fokus på styrning. I en teoretisk undersökning behandlas teorier gällande IT inom offentlig hälso- och sjukvård, IT-governance, SOA och SOA-governance.Syftet med studien är att analysera och utvärdera teorier gällande SOA-governance i relation till styrning av en regional tjänsteplattform inom offentlig hälso- och sjukvård och på så sätt bidra till utveckling av aktuella teorier genom en diskussion gällande dess användbarhet inom en specifik sektor. Jag syftar också att bidra till utveckling av den studerade verksamheten genom att identifiera/prognostisera möjligheter och problem med aktuella styrningsstrukturer.Resultaten indikerar att utmaningar för att etablera SOA-governance inom offentlig hälso-och sjukvård främst härstammar ur organisationens natur.
