Cirkulationsplatser ? estetik och design :
The purpose with this final thesis has been to study the aesthetics and design of roundabouts and to ascertain important factors that influence the experience of them. The investigation was carried out through literature-, field studies and interviews with persons that in different ways have participated in the formation of roundabouts. Furthermore, six roundabouts have been explored in more depth so that the survey would get a more practical link. These six roundabouts all occur in the rim of a city and do thereby have an important role as a gateway. The environments in such contexts are often complex which adds additional difficulty in achieving a visually appealing design, especially when taking into account the usually high traffic intensity.

To be able to find this out, we have used constructivism and sociocultural perspective on learning. We have gathered our empirical data for the study through participant observations and a focus group interview.
Normföljare eller normbrytare? En studie av mangaserien Ranma ½ ur ett genusperspektiv
The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how Ranma ½, one of the most popular Japanese Manga series, reflects the gender system in society. We have chosen to make use of two different gender theorists to determine if Ranma ½ follows the gender norms of society or not. The theoretical framework is based primarily on Yvonne Hirdman's theory of the two basic principles: the principle of dichotomy and the principle of hierarchy. Judith Butler's theory of performative gender is used as a complement.

This bachelor thesis aimed to perform an analysis and make a design proposal for the environment Surrounding the water tower. ?And so they lived happily ever after?? : en diskursanalytisk och queerteoretisk bild- och textanalys av läroböcker i engelska för gymnasiet
This thesis consists of a discourse and queer theoretical text and image analysis of school books in English used in the Swedish upper secondary school. The whole content of two school books have been analysed from a norm critical perspective but one chapter in each of them has been analysed more thoroughly than the rest. These two chapters form the major part of the analysis. The thesis? problem formulation and objective derive from a personal experience of being a teacher student and part time teacher in Swedish schools. This experience shows the prevalence of a strong heteronormativity both in the schools? every day life and in the used school books.
Synen på psykisk ohälsa i en mansdominerad organisation
In this paper we examine the view of mental illness is in a male dominated organization and what strategies are used to handle mental illness by the organization and the individual. We conduct semi structured qualitative interviews with persons who have in some way been in contact with mental illness within the organisation, we then encode our material from a themed analysis. We analyze the material and illustrate our problem area on the basis of Erving Goffmans theories of interaction and on R.W. Connells theory of hegemonic masculinity. We also show how previous studies of how men seek help for mental illness can help to enlighten our research area.

Referenstaktiker : högskolebibliotekariers sätt att överbrygga kommunikativa gap
The aim of this master thesis is to study how academic librarians can overcome the gap between themselves and the user. The gap, as we see it, is generated by the user's deeper knowledge Surrounding her subject in comparison to the librarian. This knowledge gives the user possibilities to handle certain discourses attached to the subject and a knowledge how sub-subjects relate to each other within the main subject. At the same time the user is in need of help to find information within her subject, this need needs to be explained to the librarian as a search expert. The scope of this master thesis is to find how the librarian, tactically, can reach the users need despite lack of subject knowledge.
Ett svenskt landskap i Australien : svenska kyrkan i Melbourne
As a Swedish landscape architecture student living in Australia for five
years, I have often wondered if my memories and my associations
with the landscape and the nature in Sweden, are the same as other
Swedish people living in Melbourne.
Most of the Swedish people who live here in Melbourne remember
and associate Sweden?s nature and landscape with where they grew
up or where they used to live.
The plants that most of the Swedish people I asked missed from
Sweden were associated to special feelings or activities. The general
type of landscape people remember from Sweden is that of a
landscape covered in forests, which you can walk freely through.
With these memories as a foundation and with inspiration from the
Swedish landscape architect Thorbjörn Anderson?s way of creating
places, by letting a few strong changes play against the existing
elements,2 but also with consideration of the climate and the severe
shortage of water that is current in Melbourne, will I create a design
concept for the garden Surrounding the Swedish Church in Melbourne.
A design concept that will generate memories and associations to
Swedish landscapes..
The Beautiful Boy, The Destroyer : Sexradikalers förhandlingar om tidskriften Destroyer ? en intervjustudie om anständiga bögar, fula gubbar och sexualiserade barn
Through the collection and analysis of negotiations Surrounding the gay magazine Destroyer, the intention of this paper is to identify norms of sexuality within a contemporary sex-radical discourse. These negotiations are collected from interviews with individuals whom, at the time of the inter-view, consider themselves or their politics sex-radical. In order to allow for a more general under-standing of the context in which these negotiations have come about, material about Swedish law is also included in this text, together with the interview material, and serves as a base for analysis through the application of Gayle Rubin?s theory on the hierarchical value system of sexuality.Following, are the main themes throughout the paper: The meaning of the context; Sexualized children; The possibility to (not) participate: differences of power; The decision whether or not to sell the publication and The position of the pedophile and crossgenerational love/sexuality within the LGBTQ community.Key words: sex radicalism, pornography, boy-love, kiddy porn, pedophilia, Destroyer, Gayle Rubin..
En plats - En identitet
We live in a society where we are not bound to one place. We are encouraged to be mobile and constantly moving between different locations. The life in a convent is a contrast to this; nuns live at a specific place they are bounded to by vows and can not leave. The sisters in the convent of St. Birgitta, Pax Mariae have promised to stay at the same place and live by the rules of the convent.
