Alternativ till tvångsåtgärder : erfarenheter och reflektioner av sjuksköterskor inom psykiatrisk slutenvård
BackgroundThe lifeworld describes the experience of being a humanbeing, how we experience life and how we live our lifes. When a disease, such as depression occurs, the whole lifeworld can be filled with suffering. Depression is an affective disease, which means it involves the emotions. The patient gets dejected and the emotional devotion abates. Broken sleep, anxiety, pain, concentrations difficulties, fatigue and reduced appetite is some of the symptoms.
?Jag känner mig frustrerad och otillräcklig? - Sjuksköterskans upplevelse av vården kring den suicidnära patienten
Självmord, eller suicid som det också kallas, är i vårt samhälle ett tabubelagt ämne där en känsla av utanförskap har belysts hos den suicidnära patienten som ibland upplever sin vård som otillräcklig. Syftet med följande studie är därför att belysa sjuksköterskans upplevelse av att vårda den suicidnära patienten och för att genomföra detta har en litteraturstudie genomförts på fyra kvalitativa- samt fem kvantitativa artiklar där resultatet visar att sjuksköterskans syn på patienten, på sig själv samt på sin kompetens i stor utsträckning påverkar patientens upplevelse av vårdandet. Vidare beskrivet är att sjuksköterskan tycks vara benägen att sätta etiketter på patienten där vissa grupper upplevs som svårare att vårda. Sjuksköterskan uppfattar vårdandet som tungt, då den vård som förmedlas inte upplevs ge önskad effekt. Eftersom relationen mellan sjuksköterskan och patienten är av stor vikt för att främja en framtida patienthälsa anses det att en bredare utbildning bör erhållas den grundutbildade sjuksköterskan för att underlätta förmågan att sätta sin förförståelse åt sidan och därmed öka förutsättningen för den psykiskt sjuka patienten.
Riskfaktorer för depression och självmordsbeteende - En kvantitativ studie om människor med missbruksproblem baserad på ASI-intervjuer
The aim of the study was to examine how background factors, such as abuse earlier in life, affect depression and suicidal behavior, amongst persons who abuse alcohol or illicit drugs. The study was performed at the Social Service Center, Södermalm, department for adults. The data used in the study is based on Addiction Severity Index interviews (ASI) and includes 560 observations. The statistic methods used to analyse the data is chi² test and the result is presented in cross tables and charts.
The main findings were that experiences of psychological, physical, or sexual abuse, earlier in life increase the risk for major depression and suicidal behavior later in life.
Att som missbrukare inte vilja leva mer - om samband mellan missbruk av alkohol och droger och suicidala handlingar
The purpose of this study was to explore the connection between substance abuse and completed/attempted suicide. Central questions were who the substance abusers who commit suicidal actions were. The study also tries to find out which factors that contributes to this behaviour and why it is so common amongst substance abusers. All from the point of view of three scientist and three persons working with treatment of addicts who were interviewed. The results of these interviews were analysed on an individual level with a psychological theory.
PATIENTENS DELAKTIGHET : En förutsättning för god vård
Today patients are more aware of their rights regarding their own care. They are more informed, more engaged and have more and individual requirements, which leads to increased demands for information and participation increases. The Health Act sets out the patients´ right to participation. Participation increases patient satisfaction with care, promotes healing and increases adherence to health care advise. The patient doesn´t always experience participation in their own care to the extent they wish, which suggests that nurse?s does not always succeed in getting the patient involved.
Akuta hjälp- och stödinsatser inom psykiatrin : Vad är det som påverkar psykiatrins selektering och bedömning av de individer som söker akuta hjälp- och stödinsatser?
In this paper the authors are focusing on people that work in psychiatric acute care. How do they identify the individual that is in most need of acute care? How do they judge in this kind of cases? The foundation in this study is in the qualitative method. The material to this study has been collected by doing qualitative interviews with six people in different professions and positions in psychiatric acute care. The material that we collected from these six qualitative interviews has been analysed with help from Sherif?s and Hovland?s (1961) Social judgement theory.
SJUKSKÖTERSKANS MÖTE MED SUICIDALA UNGDOMAR - att använda både hjärta och hjärna
Suicidalitet, självskadebeteenden och psykisk ohälsa hos ungdomar är ett ökande problem. Antalet suicid i Sverige har minskat sedan 1980-talet. Men i åldersgruppen ungdomar 15-19 år har suicidantalen istället ökat markant. Suicidpreventiva åtgärdsprogram har införts för att på detta sätt försöka stoppa denna oroväckande utveckling. Syftet med detta fördjupningsarbete var att belysa ungdomars suicidalitet samt sjuksköterskans yrkesroll och förhållningssätt vid vårdandet av dessa ungdomar.

Background: Every day patient´s get isolated in hospitals as a consequense of infection control purposes. Physical isolation can result in lack of human contact and a new unknown environment for the patient. Those two factors can easily cause stress within the patient and create anxiety for the future. Aim: The aim of the study was to describe patient´s experience of being nursed in an isolation room. Method: The method that was used was a literature research, where earlier research findings were read and put together.

Background: More focus has been placed towards autonomy when it comes to care and in special towards palliative care. The purpose with palliative care is to relieve and support at the end of the life. When the patient has difficulties to communicate to those around him due to his illness it is hard to preserve the patients right of self-determination. It is very important to consider the patient as autonomous during the course of the illness. Different alternatives have been developed to preserve the patient?s autonomy such as dedicate a deputy or plan the care of the patient in advance.Aim: The aim of this study was to describe, from an ethical point of view, how the patient?s autonomy could preserved at palliative care.Method: A general literature study where 11 scientific articles have been analysed from a qualitative checklist whereof the result has been discussed based on the principles of ethics.
Aspekter på sjukgymnasters bemötande av patienter: intervjuer med tre patienter och en sjukgymnast
The aim of the study was to investigate the importance of the interaction between the physiotherapist and the patient. Semistructured interviews were carried out with three patients and one physiotherapist. A qualitative design with content analysis was used. The data analysis led to classification of four categories. These were communication, confidence, expectations and participation.

Relations in palliative care
AbstractBackground: Relation means the relationship between two parts. By creating a good relation between nurse and patient you can conduce a better caring. Aim: The aim of the study was to illustrate the relation within palliative care from nurse- patient perspective. Method: The study is a literature review where ten articles were analysed with qualitative content analysis. Results: The findings showed that knowledge, communication, continuity, silence and availability were the most important thing for the nurse in the relationship.
Vård av suicidala patienter : Sjuksköterskans attityd och faktorer av betydelse
I vården av suicidala patienter ställs sjuksköterskan inför många utmaningar samtidigt som den suicidala patienten är i behov av ett omsorgsfullt bemötande som skapar trygghet och känslor av acceptans. De attityder som sjuksköterskan har mot patienterna är därför av stor betydelse. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka vilka attityder till suicidala patienter som förekommer hos sjuksköterskor samt att utforska om det finns faktorer som har betydelse för sjuksköterskans attityder. Metoden var en litteraturstudie där resultatet från tolv vetenskapliga studier har analyserats och sammanställts i olika teman. Resultatet visar att sjuksköterskor utifrån kognition, affekt och beteende, uppvisade både positiva och negativa attityder mot suicidala patienter.

Background: Patients with leg ulcer suffers often of woundpain. Healthcare professionals will strive after having knowledge and understanding for how woundpain influences the patient's quality of life. Aim: The aim is to elucidate the patient's experiences of pain at venous leg ulcer and the effects on their daily life. Method: The procedure has been a systematic literature overview with a systematic search in different databases. The search resulted in nine scientific articles.
Sjuksköterskans/Vårdpersonalens bemötande av patienter som tar emot svåra besked
Background: Health care is a strange place for the patient. To make this enviroment as good as possible, would the patient be well informed. The patient has right to know if it is a bad mews and often he/she needs caring after the information. Nurse´s basic responsibility is caring, for her/him it´s important to prevent the shock for the patient that can appear. Aim: Describe the nursing staff responses to the patient, using the patient´s perspective in relation to bad news. Method: A litterture review has been made with nine articles. Current research materials that meet the study´s purpose has been applied in databases and analyzed.
