Background: Cancer is the most common cause of death among children in Sweden. The disease and the treatment cause suffering among the children, which also affects their parents. Research has shown that parents of children with cancer have poorer health. It is the nurse?s responsebility to help, not only the child, but also the parents in their difficult situation.

In this essay, I have examined and discussed the similarities and differences between christology in the thought of Cyril of Alexandria and Martin Luther, and further, to what extent Luther may have been influenced by Cyril in his doctrines of christology and Christ?s presence in the Eucharist. By reading texts written by Cyril as well as by Luther, I have tried to describe the position of each of the theologian?s. In the next step, I compared the thoughts of Cyril and Luther, and tried to show on both similarities and differences.

Aim: To describe nurses' experiences providing end of life care to patients. Method Descriptive literature study, 15 articles were included. The search was made in PubMed, CINAHL and by manual search. The articles were reviewed, analyzed and summarized. Results: For newly graduated nurses? experience in end of life care proved to be something new, developing, difficult to manage and frightening, but expected in the profession.

Infection with intestinal parasites can in many cases be the reason for decreased performance or production. The gastro-intestinal nematode, Ostertagia ostertagi, and the lungworm, Dictyocaulus viviparus, are the most pathogenic nematodes of cattle and severe infection can lead to death. They have both a direct lifecycle and on the pasture the parasites spread as freeliving worms. The parasites are mainly a problem for the first season grazers. They have not developed immunity against the parasites and are therefor more sensitive to parasite infections.

This work is about euthanasia and how to use it on horses, dogs and cats. A description for each animal is done, about when it is time, why, which methods can be used and who is allowed to use them, how and where it shall be done. The methods we have concentrated on are: - Chemical destruction and the most common drugs for euthanatize horses, dogs and cats. - Physical disruption of the brain activity by a captive bolt, only for horses. The captive bolt only makes the horse unconscious and must always be followed by cutting off the vena jugularis. Then the horse dies because of loss of blood. No matter which method used for euthanizing, the animal must be declared to be dead by the operator before other measures. The testing criteria for death: muscle relaxation and cyanosis, cessation of reflex activity and pupillary dilatation, cessation of respiratory activity and cessation of all cardiac activity.

The purpose of this study is to examine what motivates people to help others at risk to themselves. The focus is on international aid workers, which in their work put themselves in situations of risk. Earlier research shows that international aid work involves risks such as infectious diseases, violence, death threats, assaults, constant insecurity and risk to be traumatized etc. There is not much research done on what motivates to help others in spite of risks, hence we find this an interesting area. We have interviewed six respondents about the content and character of their motivation and factors that are important for the maintenance and development of this motivation.

This thesis falls within the realm of social studies, specifically social studies in literature, and attempts to establish whether the sub-genre of fantasy literature known as sword and sorcery contains elements which resemble the tenets of fascism. Robert E. Howard is considered the progenitor of the sub-genre and his stories have an influence on the nature of sword and sorcery literature today, 70 years after his death. Background The aim of palliative care is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and her next of kin during the patient?s end of life. Palliative care rests on the four cornerstones managing symptoms, communication and relationship, teamwork and relative support. The nurses? task is to assess the patients? physical, mental and spiritual needs according to these four cornerstones.Aim To assess nurses? experiences of treating patients at the end of life.Method Eleven academic journals that respond to the aim has been analyzed and synthesized in a literature review in order to summarize current research on the subject.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva vilka behov närstående har vid nära anhörigs dödsfall. Litteratursökningar gjordes i databaserna Medline och Cinahl. Sökningarna resulterade i 19 artiklar med ett bortfall på 3 artiklar. Studiens resultat grundades på 16 vetenskapliga artiklar som granskades och analyserades. I resultatet framkom sex kategorier.

Enligt Statistiska Centralbyrån [SCB] föddes det år 2008 109 301 barn i Sverige. Utöver dessa föddes det cirka 600 barn som dött i livmodern innan förlossning. Intrauterin fosterdöd innebär att barn föds döda efter graviditetsvecka 22. Tidigare forskning belyser vikten av att barnmorskor har ett individuellt synsätt vid mötet med par vid intrauterin fosterdöd. The aim of this master?s thesis is to study librarians? views on children and young people as Internet users in Swedish libraries. It examines what types of problems and possibilities the librarians see with children?s and young people?s use of the Internet, how these problems might be solved, and what they think about regulations and filters. Qualitative interviews were conducted with nine librarians, and their statements were analysed with David Buckingham?s After the death of childhood as a theoretical foundation.

Denna uppsats behandlar publiceringen av bilder av döda på sociala nätverk. Forskningsfrågan är vad som karakteriserar publiceringen av dödsbilder på sociala nätverk vad avser just framställningen av bilderna. Den teoretiska bakgrunden är i huvudsak David Campbells teorier kring hur publicering av bilder av lidande och död styrs genom tre etiskt normativa regulatorer. Metoden är semiotisk analys och i tre fallstudier fastslås att publiceringarna är otypiska främst för att de förekommer medan det är mycket ovanligt att se publiceringar av denna typ i traditionella medier. Bilderna uppfyller inte rådande standard i medieindustrin vad gäller smakfullhet och anständighet.

The purpose of this study is to examine how the identity of teenagers is affected by the loss of a parent as well as what coping strategies support identity development. The reactions the teenagers exhibit, in such circumstances, will also be examined. To accomplish this,  a theory package was created, comprising theories in developmental psychology, identity work, coping and theory of grief reactions of children and teenagers. This package provided a broad perspective, which facilitated the analysis. Furthermore, it made it easier to address the purpose and the issue of the analysis.

Bakgrund: Passiv eutanasi innebär ett undanhållande eller tillbakadragande av livsuppehållande behandling och är både lagligt och etiskt godkänt i de flesta länder. Sjuksköterskan spelar en stor och avgörande roll vid passiv eutanasi då hen har en viktig roll gällande vårdandet av personer i livets slutskede och för att ge stöd och tröst åt deras anhöriga.Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att delta vid passiv eutanasi.Metod: Studien är en litteraturöversikt med induktiv ansats baserad på tio artiklar där en manifest innehållsanalys utfördes.Resultat: Analysen resulterade i fyra huvudkategorier; att ta ansvar, innefattar sjuksköterskans ansvar och dess konsekvenser, att vara en del i beslutstagandet innefattar sjuksköterskans behov av att få dela med sig av sin kunskap, att bli emotionellt påverkad beskriver hur vårdandet påverkar sjuksköterskorna och att ge vård vid livets slutskede, ger en bild av hur man ger ett värdigt avslut. I dessa kategorier återfanns även tolv underkategorier.Slutsatser: Den mest centrala delen av passiv eutanasi var att ge ett värdigt avslut. Detta kunde göras genom att få vara en del av beslutstagandet samt att se till de anhöriga och inkludera dem i vården..

This essay will deal with how media?s picture perception of Ludmila Engqvist has changed by analysing articles from the Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen from 1996 to 2001. Why and how the media?s picture has changed will be analysed through the perspectives of Ludmila Engqvist being an elite athlete, immigrant and woman.
