This paper investigates the autobiography of Damien Echols. The autobiographical subject, Echols, depicts his life as a marginalized youth during the nineteen seventies and nineteen eighties in Arkansas, USA. It also explores the years that Echols spent on Death Row after having been arrested along with two other youths for the murder of three eight-year-old boys; a crime all three of the accused denied having committed. In 2011, after eighteen years of incarceration, the three now grown up men were released from prison. The author of this paper discusses biography and especially autobiography as a genre and explores to what extent memories represent the actual life the autobiographical subject, Echols, has lived and if memories are or can be truthful.

I en stadsmiljö som innehåller stora mängder geografisk information på en begränsad yta finns det flera faktorer som ställer till problem vid kartläggning och positionering. Målet med detta arbete var att skapa en dynamisk stadskarta för webben med visualisering av byggnader i flera plan, att skapa ett användarvänligt gränssnitt med möjlighet till relevanta dataurval samt att undersöka vilka metoder som är användbara för positionering där en GPS-mottagare inte har täckning. Den metod som främst var av intresse att undersöka är en teknik benämnd WiFi Positionering, vilken med hjälp av trådlösa accesspunkter beräknar användarens position.Ett system för datalagring och tillhandahållande av data via ett webbaserat användargränssnitt dimensionerades och implementerades. De programvaror som användes till detta var PostGIS (databashanterare), GeoServer (kartserver) och OpenLayers (kartapplikation). Systemet installerades i en testmiljö som tillhandahölls av Compare Testlab.Användargränssnittet är ett webbaserat program vilket utvecklades med en teknik som stöds av webbläsare i smartphones samt till datorers dito.

En generell uppfattning om mellanchefspositionen är att den är svår att hantera i och med de krav som ställs både från överordnade chefer och underordnade medarbetare. Vårt syfte med uppsatsen har därför varit att öka kunskap och förståelse för den situation en chef i mellanposition befinner sig i. Vi har valt att intervjua mellanchefer inom kommunal sektor för att ta del av hur de upplever sin roll, position och uppgift, relationer till medarbetare samt vilka situationer som upplevs som svåra och problematiska.Vi ville ta del av mellanchefers subjektiva upplevelser och valde därför en kvalitativ metod i form av en intervjuundersökning. Resultatet visade att många av deras upplevelser var likartade men vissa mindre skillnader kunde vi på visa. Mellancheferna upplevde att de har en bekväm position, men att det ibland kan uppstå situationer då motstridiga förväntningar ställs från överordnade chefer och underställda chefer eller underställda medarbetare..

Abstract. The trade in prostitution/sexual services is regarded as a major social problem in Sweden. The prostitutes are seen as a group of passive, neglected and exploited victims, subject to repeated and forced outrage. However, there exists a network of sexworkers who claim their free will in selling sex as a trademark. They describe themselves as active subjects with a business of selling sex out of free will.

With this study we intend to investigate and analyse three different preschool?s holdings of toys and discuss the result in relation to the creation of subject. The investigation in this study consists of an inventory of the holdings of toys at three different preschools. We have used an already existing system for classification which is composed by Nilsson and Nelson (2002). The results give a detailed survey of collected material in the form of tables in which we indicate the comparisons which are relevant to our purpose.

We have written this paper about gambling problems with the purpose to give us and all of our readers a sense of understanding. With the term understanding we mean that we all know what type of activity gambling is but not a lot of us know how it feels for individuals that due to their addiction play almost every day and sometimes several times a day. By somehow trying to explain what kind of experiences people who engage in gambling feel, we hope that we somehow can increase our knowledge towards these persons and towards gambling. We are well informed that the content of our particular subject that we?ve chosen is massive and that more research needs to be done about or subject since there are no simple answers that can explain gambling behavior so easily.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to find out how the after-school teachers can work with children diagnosed with ADHD on the after-school center, study the given conditions as well as the links between the two earlier mentioned. Four interviews, with four different after-school teachers, from four after-school centers in one municipality was made. The interviews consisted of seven questions, six of the questions gave the respondents the opportunity to own interpretation of the question and thereby answer the question after what they considered as correct.The result shows that work with ADHD diagnosed children can differ widely based on the conditions the after-school teachers have. Examples of conditions are knowledge and education on the subject, the after-school center environment, the number of teachers in the business and more. Based on the four interviewed response, and the information that previous research shows about the subject, the work with ADHD diagnosed children at the four different after-schools is not good enough.

The purpose of this essay is to analytically review and discuss architecturalcompetitions, mainly through the general views of a few selected workinglandscape architects, architects and scientists. I have studied the moral and workethicalaspects of using graphical presentations as a mean to draw attention,rather than trying to meet the set program points.My results are derived from e-mail interviews, literature studies and studies ofthe competition entry Stockholmssfären from the competition Stockholmsportenwhich was held in Sweden early 2011.The literature studies have shown that the available literature on architecturalcompetitions and research on the subject is biased towards architecture ratherthan landscape architecture. Worth mentioning is also that there is not a lot ofavailable literature, mainly due to lacking research on the subject.The informants for the interviews were selected based upon their academicmerits and/or experience of working with or doing scientific research onarchitectural competitions. The landscape architects? opinions regardingarchitectural competitions turned out to be in many ways alike ? they seemed tohave a pretty relaxed view of competing in architecture.

This report deal with grades and evaluation in intermediary school, which grading systemshas been and is used in intermediary school and their benefits and disadvantages. The purposewith this report is to find out how the different grading systems has functioned since thebeginning of the Swedish intermediary school to present day and speculate what the futurewill show considering the changes the Swedish school in general is facing. My main result isthat the literature and the teachers, both retired and active, share the same view regarding thepros and cons with grading. When it comes to the matter of in which class should initiate, allthe approached teachers has different opinions. The procedure which I used to get my resultsincludes a literature analysis about grading and evaluation, covering both printed andelectronic sources, where I have compared the views of the different scholars.

På grund av ojämställdheten mellan kvinnor och män på den svenska arbetsmarknaden undersöks i föreliggande studie vem som blir chef baserat på skillnader i mängd socialt kapital. Syftet är att undersöka om det existerar ett samband mellan nätverksstorlek, kontaktintensitet i nätverkslänkar samt andelen kontakter som är män och socioekonomisk position. Syftet är även att undersöka om sambandet skiljer sig åt mellan kvinnor och män. Studiens hypoteser bygger på teorier om strukturella processer och homofili samt styrkan i svaga länkar. Studiens material består av kvantitativa data hämtat från Levnadsnivåundersökningen (LNU) 2010.

From a management point of view, enabling organizational creativity is often referred to as reducing immediate control, increasing autonomy and enhancing the access to slack resources. At the same time, the business environment of today is fiercer than it was only a decade ago, and this renders a quest for more efficient approaches to competitively run a business. This paper aims to examine creative industries and more specifically try to identify a set of elements that are common for successful companies. As this industry has not been subject to any considerable array of studies, this thesis seeks to establish a structure for how to take both organizational models and leadership theories into account when developing an understanding for the process, organization and leadership of the creative business. By studying six separate creative companies, our findings suggest that conventional theories on organizational creativity do not adequately account for all factors that contribute to these companies' creative success.

The increasing importance of human rights within the international community over the past fifteen years has raised the issue of humanitarian intervention. This concept is a complex one, and in the debate surrounding this issue can be heard arguments from and within legal, political and ethical standpoints. There is not yet a unified definition or agreement as to the nature of humanitarian intervention but it is clear that it is an important issue internationally and it is therefore interesting to see how this has affected the debate within individual countries. This study will thus examine the international development surrounding humanitarian intervention in relation to the official position taken by the Swedish government. Det här är en studie kring ämnet flexibel utformning av offentliga rum, och ett förslag på hur Båstads hamnområde skulle kunna utvecklas till en plats som på ett mer tillfredsställande sätt kan användas året runt. Idag är hamnen en plats som präglas av några månader med intensivt liv och mycket rörelse under sommaren, för att sedan bli en tom och oanvänd plats vintertid. Förslaget har föregåtts av analyser, både under vinter och sommar, av hamnens rumslighet, aktivitet, rörelse och attraktioner, en litteraturstudie kring ämnet flexibel utformning av offentliga rum, samt två studiebesök på mindre orter i Sverige som kämpar med en liknande problematik. Förslaget har också föregåtts av en inventering av området, samtal med tjänstemän på Båstads kommun och näringsidkare i hamnen samt studier av tidigare planprogram och planer för hamnen framtaget av kommunen. Med utgångspunkt i resultaten av analyserna och med inspiration från litteraturstudien och studiebesöken har jag tagit fram ett förslag på hur Båstads hamnområde skulle kunna utvecklas, göras mer flexibelt och därav mer användbart hela året.
