SammanfattningI dagens förändringssamhälle, med en ökad globalisering och en snabb teknologisk utveckling behöver företagen hänga med i utvecklingen för att de inte ska bli ikapp- och förbisprungna. För att de ska lyckas med detta behöver de ha en offensiv inställning till tillväxt, de bör hela tiden tänka framåt och se vad de kan göra för att, inte bara hänga med utan, ta ledningen och visa vägen in i framtiden. Företagarna (FR) i Bollnäs kom därför på idén att låta en student genomföra ett arbete om tillväxten bland små företag.Det finns två syften med uppsatsen. Det ena är en övergripande bild för att se hur företag inom Bollnäs kommun ser på tillväxt på företag. Det andra är att se hur företag inom kommunen ser på tillväxten för sitt företag.

Today Scania give a high priority to the continuous improvements on the quality of their vehicles. To follow up the flaws in product quality, which are recognized by the repairs at the local workshops, material requests are carried through to be able to analyze the defects at the plant in Södertälje ? in purpose to improve the product quality. The material requests are also carried through to compensate the workshop for their expenses and to check that they are working according to the company?s warranty manual.Due to local routines and different distribution structures at the different markets the lead times and the costs caused by the flow of material are hard to estimate.

Forest enterprises have always searched for ways to improve efficiency. For the past few years there has been an emphasis on stock-keeping levels. Increased demand for fresh round timber and the need to decrease the amount of tied-up capital has made the forest industry reduce its inventory levels. This has brought on a higher demand on the timber supply from the forest management districts concerning both delivery in time and assortment output. As a result, the flow of timber has fluctuated a lot with serious consequence for the timber supply during 1994.

In Sweden today so-called "prescribed nature conservation burning" is performed due to the change in silvicultural law, certification and an increased knowledge regarding the field of fire in the forest landscape. The aim is to re-create structures and qualities made by the fire regimes of the past, though on a much smaller geographical scale. The structures and qualities to be re-created are for example broad leaf stands, trees with large diameter, heterogeneous stands regarding variables such as age and diameter. If we increase our knowledge of the constitution of forests characterized by fire, then we will be able to set goals for what achievements to reach both on landscape scale and stand scale. The aim of this paper is to try to describe how a stand from the past was composed regarding mainly the spatial arrangement and compare it with the stand of today in the same place. This to be done by using relict material, that is stumps and dead standing trees.
