Today more effective computer programs are in use, regarding design of geotechnicalconstructions. There is a risk that the theoretical background of the computerprograms, its limitations and the signification of the choice of soil parameter isforgotten when the computer programs become more user-friendly.This Master thesis deals with simulation and analysis regarding three computerprograms, FEM-design, with the addition Raft, Plaxis and BE-slab. Comparisons aremade for settlement and maximum moment in a concrete-plate. FEM-design is a threedimensional FEM-program, foremost created for design engineers. Plaxis is a twodimensional FEM-program, intended for geotechnical engineers while BE-Slab is aBoundary elements program in two dimensions that is mainly used by designengineers.

This thesis has aimed to study steering process and institutionalization in the context of educational policy work. This has been conducted by using empirical material from the political decision-making process that preceded the implementation of a new national program on how principals should be educated and certified. By using an aggregated theoretical point of view containing new institutionalism and traditional Swedish curriculum theory, the process was analyzed from different perspectives. The results depict a process that contained several actors who tried to shape the principal education program differently. From the theoretical perspectives, the decision-making process could be understood as an act of both self-interest as well as trust in their own beliefs and cultural values.

Syftet med denna studie Àr att utröna hur vÀl skolan, med avseende pÄ Àmnet matematik, lyckas leva upp till tre specifika jÀmstÀlldhetsmÄl som formulerats i skolans lÀroplan Lpf 94. Data har samlats in i tvÄ steg, undersökningen bygger pÄ enkÀter som delats ut till elever i Ärskurs tre pÄ gymnasiets naturvetenskapliga program och pÄ intervjuer dÀr fyra flickor med goda betyg i matematik och fysik fÄtt beskriva sin relation till Àmnet matematik samt berÀtta om varför de inte tÀnkt studera matematikintensiva utbildningar pÄ universitetsnivÄ. Resultatet i min studie tyder pÄ att jÀmförelsevis fÄ flickor Àmnar studera matematikintensiva utbildningar. Resultatet visar ocksÄ att flickor med betygsmÀssigt goda förutsÀttningar tycker att det Àr oklart vilka matematikintensiva utbildningar som stÄr dem till buds. Mina slutsatser Àr att skolan inte lyckas leva upp till lÀroplanens jÀmstÀlldhetsmÄl i sÀrskilt hög grad och att skolpersonal i form av studievÀgledare och lÀrare bör arbeta mer aktivt med att vÀgleda elever och ge dem information..

Polisens it-forensiska avdelning har bl.a. i uppgift att sÀkra bevis frÄn datorer som tillhör personer misstÀnkta för brott. Det polisen gör Àr att anvÀnda en mÀngd olika program som producerar loggar med webbhistorik, e-post och meddelanden frÄn en mÀngd program som anvÀnds vid chatt. Det den hÀr rapporten kommer fokusera pÄ Àr framtagningen av en applikation som kan ta in alla dessa typer av loggar och rensa bort onödig information. Den ÄterstÄende informationen struktureras om för att kunna generera en rapport med enhetligt utseende.

AbstractPurpose: The purpose of this study was to see if there was any correlation between BMI and chronic pain among participants who underwent a behavioural medicine rehabilitation program at a pain clinic in the central part of Sweden. Method: The study was conducted as a quantitative descriptive study context and has used medical records with documented data from the participants who were part of a pain clinic rehabilitation programs in the years 2004-2005. Altogether there were 76 participants in these years and excluded was nine participants with BMI measurements were not included in the documentation. Main Results: Regarding the relationship between BMI and chronic pain there was no significant relationships. Participants who completed the behavioural medicine rehabilitation program, however, showed a lower value of BMI and the estimated pain in VAS from the first to the third which is the last time of measuring.

In this project the focus has been on the system for recombination at Oskarshamn 2. The recombining systems have on several occasions switched paths due to low pressure before the last ejector that?s feeding the recombiner. Of the mentioned reason, events and several measuring points have been analyzed in this report since the installation of the recombining systems.In order to prove theories and demonstrate what may be the cause of this problem, we used heat balance calculations by the program Probera. Using the program, we can demonstrate that the catalytic process does not reach the desired temperature with the amount of combustible substance.

The purpose of this study was to examine participants' experiences and descriptions of a municipal activation program, and how participants perceive their opportunities for influence on their own needs and requirements. The results are based on statements from six semi-structured, individual interviews conducted by the qualitative method. Empowerment, paternalism and social capital are among the study's theoretical frame of reference. The main results show that more participants are critical of aspects of coercion and involuntary willingness in participation. Motivation for participation seems to mainly be linked to whether the activity is experienced as meaningful, as well as to the attitude of the staff.

Electrooculogram (EOG) data was used to develop, adjust and validate a method for drowsiness detection in drivers. The drowsiness detection was based on changes in blink behaviour and classification was made on a four graded scale. The purpose was to detect early signs of drowsiness in order to warn a driver. MATLAB was used for implementation. For adjustment and validatation, two different reference measures were used; driver reported ratings of drowsiness and an electroencephalogram (EEG) based scoring scale.

The property owner, Diligentia AB, wants to lower the energy use in TĂ„ngen 2. This report consists of an energy audit which clarifies the specific circumstances linked to TĂ„ngen 2. Collected knowledge is then used, together with the results from the literature study, to decide energy measures to proceed with.

This report is a thesis work for a B.Sc. in Forestry at the School for Forest Engineers, SLU. The work was an assignment from JarltrÀ AB which is a privately owned sawmill located in southern SmÄland. The aim of the work was to investigate the economical result of different pricelists and how to adjust different parameters such as length correction to give an optimal result. The pricelists was examined through a computer program (SilviA). The pricelists was made in the program and after that a simulation was preformed with a selection of random sampled trees gathered from the area nearby the sawmill.

Chronic illness is associated with conditions that may result in psychological ill-health in the adolescence. Consequently there is a need for development of preventive psychosocial support interventions for this target group. The objective was to develop, implement, and evaluate the effect of supportive intervention group program for teenagers suffering from chronic illness - aiming at increasing quality of life and supporting mental and physical health. Method: Six different intervention groups were conducted between 2007 and 2011, age 13?17.

Syftet med denna examensuppsats Àr spegla hur det kan vara att undervisa pÄ ett estetiskt program med bildinriktning pÄ gymnasiet. Mina huvudfrÄgor har varit: Hur Àr det att arbeta som lÀrare med bild pÄ ett estetiskt program med bildinriktning? Var diskuterar lÀrarna bildens roll i samhÀllet? Vilka mÄl har eleverna? I min studie har jag intervjuat lÀrare om deras syn pÄ sitt arbete och sina elever. Intervjuerna har sedan tolkats och jÀmförts med olika teorier inom den pedagogiska litteraturen. Resultatet visar att lÀrarna ser sig som förlösare av det inneboende personliga uttrycket, de vill lÀra eleverna se och förverkliga sina idéer.
