This essay analyses the act of reading August Strindberg?s novel En dåres försvarstal (A Madman?s defence). It reveals the writer?s motif and purpose with the text and it shows how a certain interpretation of the text is crucial for the writer?s intentions to become reality. But it also shows how this interpretation is threaten by several, both intertextual and extratextual, thematically and structural, factors.

The aim of this study is to shed light on the phenomenon of destructive sexual behavior among youth from the perspective of professionals working at nonprofit organizations. To examine this, we used a qualitative method; we interviewed professionals working at nonprofit organizations. To analyze our results we used gender theory and empowerment theory. Our main results are that the professionals view this behavior as deliberate self-harm, such as cutting, as they do it to achieve relief from anxiety. Also, the professionals think that gender norms affect young people with destructive sexual behavior in that it imposes guilt and shame, which inflicts their already low self-esteem and makes them feel inferior.

In recent years there has been a growing interest directed towards focusing on the importance of clear evidence for interventions in social work. To enable the measurement it?s necessary to develop concrete models with manuals on how social work should be designed. Evaluation of the benefits is made in relation to how well the method can detect evidence of clear measurable results. When measuring the result it?s of importance to emphasis on pre and post the situation, not the situation where social work takes place.

This Master?s thesis is one of two parts of a combined project called Sustainable development around the Lake Victoria, the purpose of which is to investigate the importance of local anchoring and active participation in the work towards sustainable development. The present study aims to investigate whether men and women are empowered by the participatory rural appraisal (PRA) process promoted in their villages by the VI Agroforestry Project Masaka/Rakai. The study is primarily based on interviews with farmers within the project area and brings up a local perspective on the concepts sustainable development, active participation and empowerment. The study shows that to improve the farmers? livelihood and to create a sustainable development in the community, the farmers have to be actively involved in, and in control of, the process.

Syftet med denna studie är att ta reda på vad det kan finnas för bakomliggande orsaker till att det i dagens Sverige sker så få anmälningar gällande tvångsäktenskap bland ungdomar mellan åldrarna 15-20 år. I denna studie kommer det att undersökas om ungdomarna besitter kunskapen om vart de kan vända sig för att söka hjälp och stöd om de riskerar att utsättas för tvångsäktenskap och om familjestrukturen kan ha en påverkan på att det sker så få anmälningar. Då skolan är en central arena där individens rättigheter ska förmedlas har studien i syfte att dels undersöka om skolan belyst dessa frågor men också hur skolan kan användas som en plattform för att jobba med förebyggande insatser mot tvångsäktenskap. För att samla in den gedigna kunskapen inom ämnet har vi använt oss av olika litteratur så som böcker, studier samt tidigare forskningsrapporter.    Teorin om individ- och gruppcentrerad familjestruktur samt kulturteorin används för att undersöka om familjestrukturen kan ha en påverkan på individens val av att göra en anmälan.

Utanförskapet makt är en undersökning av hur begreppet utanförskap används inom statens offentliga utredningar, och skrivelser från regeringen, och vilka politiska möjligheter som skapas i och med hur begreppet används. Analysen visade att begreppen utanförskap i texterna används på många, sinsemellan skiftande sätt. Begreppsanvändningen karaktäriserades ofta av en vaghet, och att svårmätbara värden som ?egenmakt?, ?initiativförmåga? och ?självständighet? användes i talet om utanförskap. En polemik mellan aktivitet och passivitet kunde identifieras i talet om utanförskap, som i sin tur kunde kopplas till vad som i uppsatsen identifierades som en offer-subjektdikotomi.

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to examine attitudes among social workers, particularly their attitudes toward their clients? poverty and towards economic counseling as a method. A further aim was to study the relationship between attitudes towards poverty and economic counseling. Primary data used for the study was assembled among social workers (n = 111) with the use of an electronic questionnaire that was sent out to social welfare offices in 34 city districts in Stockholm,Gothenburg and Malmö. The findings showed that a majority of the social workers had a structural understanding of poverty and a positive attitude towards economic counseling.

The purpose of this thesis is to critically investigate how to understand the regional transformations that are occurring in Sweden and Denmark. At a higher level of abstraction the results can be generalised to a wider context and I have found that there is an ideological hegemony that explains the regional transformation. Nation states are reterritorialising due to a changing world where global capital is becoming increasingly flexible and competition between states, regions and municipalities is needed to adjust. By using Sandberg's model of structural reforms I have shown that the differences between Sweden's and Denmark's reterritorialisation are due to differences in national political culture and existing administrative systems. In fact these two structural reforms are based on the same regionalist ideology as a reaction to the changing global economy.To investigate the regional transformations I have carried out an idea and ideology analysis on the recent Swedish proposal from Ansvarskommittén, Strukturkommissionen in Denmark and the proposal by the Danish government which was carried out in 2007.

Purpose/Aim: The purpose of this essay is to see how the media, through the newspaper, "Vi föräldrar?, produces family and parental roles, and to investigate how the image changed over time.Material/Method: The material consists of a number of selected texts from the years 1968, 1988 and 2008. The method used is a discourse analysis based on the three level model by Norman Fairclough. The three levels are the text, the discourse practise and the sociocultural practise. In this study two of the levels, text and sociocultural practise, are used in analysing the texts.Main results: Family and parenting in the texts from 1968 can be linked to the structural functionalist theory in which the core family is central and women and men are assigned to specific roles.

Sweden?s District councils and Country councils are in itself to a large extent responsible for the state financed welfare. Because of this, Sweden has a contribution- and adjustment system. The reason for this system is to create equal chance, for all District councils and Country councils, to be able to give the citizens service independently of their income and non-influential structural differences. The adjustment is built upon the so-called standard cost method, which contains four different parts.

Syftet med studien är att utveckla kunskap om hur personalen på boenden för ensamkommande barn utifrån empowerment arbetar med att möjliggöra de ensamkommande barnens delaktighet, inklusion och integration i samhället. Vidare syftar studien även till att belysa hur personalen på boenden själva ser på detta arbete. De frågeställningarna som belyses i studien är: Vad i arbetet med förhållningsätt skapar möjlighet till ensamkommande barns delaktighet i samhället, enligt personal på boenden för ensamkommande barn? Finns det skillnader mellan personal på HVB- boenden om vad man anser om att arbeta med delaktighetsfrämjande arbete? Om ja, kan dessa skillnader då förklaras med kön, ålder, utbildning, erfarenhet etc. av att arbeta med ensamkommande barn? Metoder som används i studien har en kvantitativ och kvalitativ ansats och innehåller en enkätundersökning och tre intervjuer gjorda med boendepersonalen i Kalmar län.

Diabetes har kommit att bli en vanlig folksjukdom som ständigt ökar i prevalens och för med sig egenvårdsansvar för patienten. Empowerment introducerades som begrepp inom diabetesvården i början av 1990-talet talet och innebär en strävan att öka patientens personliga ansvar och förmåga att ta kontroll samt hantera sin sjukdom. Studiens syfte var att beskriva hur empowermentfokuserad omvårdnad kan inverka på diabetespatientens välbefinnande samt egenvårdsförmåga. Studien baserades på en litteraturöversikt med kvalitativ ansats där både kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar låg till grund för resultatet. Analysen genomfördes som en manifest innehållsanalys med induktiv ansats.

The purpose of this thesis is to study and determine how working in cross functional teams can generate value in an effort to facilitate innovation. An inductive scientific perspective is chosen as the research approach. A single case is investigated with the theoretical framework based on Resource Based View, Intellectual Capital, Innovation theory and theories concerning Cross Functional Teams. The empirical material has been collected through primary data; surveys, interviews and secondary data; literature, websites and further complementary data. The practice of using Cross Functional Teams will enhance organizational learning, knowledge transfer, increase communication and innovation, which in turn will increase the speed and performance of the new product development process.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka utslussning och eftervård av ungdomar som är familjehemsplacerade då de blir myndiga. För att uppnå syftet gjordes en redogörelse för den rättsliga regleringen av eftervården samt hur eventuella förberedande insatser för vårdens avslut planeras. Genom intervjuer med socialsekreterare studerades även hur socialtjänsten i praktiken förbereder ungdomar för livet efter en familjehemsplacering. Både en juridisk och rättsociologisk metod användes i undersökningen. Resultaten av datainsamlingen analyserades utifrån ett empowerment perspektiv.
