Den mentala balansen : om föreställningar kring psykisk ohälsa

The purpose of this essay is to examine the everyday beliefs about mental illness surrounding the disease and how these are expressed and affects the sick life and identity. The focus is on the sick perspective, where a concept of norms, normalization and taboo forms a basis in the use of materials, which here consists of qualitative interviews and Internet forums. This is analyzed and then discussed with the help from structuralism and poststructuralism approach, where I mainly refer to the social anthropologist Mary Douglas, ethnologist Lars-Eric Jönsson and philosopher Michael Foucault. My aim is to provide knowledge about ways of understanding Intranet as a communication artifact. Today organizations plan to update their technology so as to make the communicative functions of Web 2.0 come true. With this objective in mind organizations will be prepared to meet social demands among staff. After interviewing intranet managers I have compiled qualitative data in categories. My approach is influenced by a phenomenographic approach.

In addition tothis, study how journalists today respond to these changes.Material/Method: The study is based on Deuze?s theories about journalistic ideals,Jenkins? theories about convergence culture, and on theories about professionalizationand de-professionalization based on Nygren, Wiik and Torstendahl?s theories. Thestudy is based on eight interviews with professional journalists, four employedjournalists and four freelance journalists. The results are analysed based on a broadtheoretical framework.Main results: The results of this survey show that the role of the professionaljournalist is extremely complex, with a strong ideological basis that fundamentallyinfluences the journalist's view of the profession and of him- or herself.

Cultural Capital? - On the view of culture and cultural policy in Lund's application process to become Sweden's European Cultural Capital of 2014.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to examine the ways in which culture and cultural policy are being articulated in the process of Lund's application to become Sweden's European Cultural Capital of 2014.I have used Dorte Skot-Hansen's three cultural political rationalities: the humanistic-, the sociological- and the instrumental rationality, as well as and Jenny Johannisson's extension of those into three cultural-political discourses, as sensitizing concepts in my analysis. The questions raised are: How are the three rationalities/discourses articulated in the chosen central documents and in the process surrounding them? Which themes and arguments dominate the chosen documents?The main objects of my study have been four texts that have been produced in the applicationprocess: a Prestudy, a Plan of action, a Broschure and a Cultural policy. Along with them local political protocols, newspaper articles and other related material have been used. The research method applied was a qualitative eclectical textual analysis with emphasis on the content and on tracing the way the rationalities were expressed in the material.The rationalities were all found to be articulated in the four texts.

This essay examines two modern retellings of the classic fairy tale of Snow White and the seven dwarfs in the version of the brothers Grimm. By analyzing the differences in the modern version to the more original one my aim is to be able to see how these objects of popular culture are affected by the type of society they are created within.In my two-step analysis I have first used the theory of narratology to find what changes had been made in the two retellings. Here I have the help of several key concepts of the theorists Vladimir Propp, Gérard Genette and David Bordwell. The narrative differences, which turned out to concern the characters mostly, I have then sought to explain in the light of the sociological theories of Zygmunt Bauman regarding liquid modernity and liquid fears..

Purpose/aim: The purpose of this thesis is to examine if, and in that case how, the municipality of Umeå worked strategically with its communication during 2014 when Umeå was chosen as ?European Capital of Culture?. The research is mainly focused on the outlines of their communication plan, main goals, what  communication strategies the municipality has chosen to and their choice of media channels.Material/method: Two methods are used for this research; qualitative interviews with four employees within the communication team during Umeå2014 and a text analysis of three formal documents which provide the framework of communication policies and media strategies during Umeå2014.Results: The results clearly indicate a well structured, strategic planning outlined in the formal documents. Forskningscirkeln och dess påverkan på historieundervisning i en mångkulturell miljö

Under två terminer har vi medverkat i en forskningscirkel på en grundskola som behandlat historieundervisning i en mångkulturell miljö. Forskningscirkeln startades i samband med att den aktuella skolan fick ett stort tillskott av elever med invandrarbakgrund. Det ena syftet med detta examensarbete är att synliggöra lärarnas syn på rollfördelningen inom den aktuella forskningscirkeln. Den rollfördelning vi syftar på är framförallt den mellan forskarna och lärarna, inte lärarna emellan. Det andra syftet är att se hur lärarna upplever att de påverkats av att medverka i forskningscirkeln, och då med fokus på historieundervisning i en mångkulturell miljö.

HIF-svin och BoIS-bönder ? Supporterkultur i Helsingborg och Landskrona

Syftet med denna uppsats var att studera supporterkulturerna hos Helsingborgs IF och Landskrona BoIS samt att göra en jämförelse dem emellan med utgångspunkt från de uppfattningar som finns angående städerna och lagens supportrar. Avsikten var att behandla hela supporterkulturen och även alla ?vanliga? åskådare på arenorna. Därför genomfördes en enkätundersökning bland åskådarna på en hemmamatch för vartdera laget. Publiken på båda matcherna hade överlag en god ekonomi.

Ledarskap och Stress : en kvalitativ studie om ledarrollens betydelse i stressiga situationer

Previous research in the area of leadership and stress has shown that the leader plays an important role but in what way is still an issue to explore. A qualitative approach was used in this study to develop an increased understanding of the leader's experience of stress using four themes; leadership, stress, control and organizational factors. A total of 12 semi-structured and un-structured interviews were carried out with 6 leaders, three females and three males. The data was transcribed and thematic as well as narrative analysis was conducted.The results indicates that leadership stress is caused by a lack of control and that factors intrinsic to the role as a leader both facilitates and complicates the leaders situation when facing stress..

En Fusions Påverkan : en fallstudie av Nordea

Syfte: Tanken med detta arbete har varit att se hur en fusion med företag i fyra olika länder som deltagare påverkat en stor organisation som Nordea, undersöka vilka skillnader de olika kulturerna för med sig och vilka problem de orsakat i integrationsprocessen. Jag ville även jämföra vilka olika ledarstilar som existerade i de olika länderna och ta reda på om det påverkat chefernas ledarstil i Sverige. Även massmedians bevakning under integrationsprocessen undersöks för att se deras inställning till sammanslagningen.Metod: I denna uppsats har både sekundär- och primärdata använts. Jag har studerat vad andra skrivit om fusioner, kulturens påverkan och olika ledarstilar men jag har även samlat in egen primärdata genom intervjuer med två personer från Nordea. Sedan har jag jämfört resultatet av intervjuerna med teorin för att få en bra bild om hur fusionen och integrationsprocessen fungerat i Nordea.Resultat & slutsats: De olika kulturerna inkluderade olika ledarstilar i fusionen och en viss anpassning har krävts av cheferna för att samarbetet ska fungera.
