Föreliggande studie ville ta reda på huruvida mångfaldsutvecklingsarbetet är förankrat i de studerade människobehandlande organisationerna. Det visade sig att arbetet med mångfaldsfrågorna begränsas för merparten av de intervjuade till att anställa personer med olika etniska bakgrund samt att följa de styrdokument som förbjuder diskriminering. Analysen har visat att merparten av respondenterna resonerar fortfarande kring mångfald i termer av hinder och problem samt lagar och regler, istället för vinster, fördelar och möjligheter. Att de gör det betyder oundvikligen att man begränsar sig själv och sitt handlingsutrymme när det gäller verksamhetsutvecklingsarbetet, det är mitt resonemang. Många av de intervjuade verksamhetsansvariga fokuserar och relaterar diskussionen om mångfaldsutveckling till problematik och upplevda hinder utan att de medvetet, strategisk och målinriktad försöker göra något för att minimera dessa upplevda negativa effekter som mångfaldiga arbetsgrupper kan medföra.

The purpose of this thesis is to explore and analyze the processes and efforts involved in rebuilding the war-torn state of Afghanistan. The examined period span from the fall of the Taliban regime in 2001, to the elections in 2005. This period, commonly known as the Bonn-process, sets out the initial time for the reconstruction of the state.A theoretical framework, which considers the necessary mechanisms for successful state-building, will be used to analyze Afghanistan's re-building process. The mechanisms include the prerequisite of a stable security environment, emerging from a cease-fire, together with the development of a well-functioning economy, re-introduction of rule of law and rejuvenating civil society.The failure to establish a secure environment has had a devastating impact on all analyzed aspects of the re-building process. It is therefore crucial that the international society continuing to assists the Afghan government in its efforts to strengthen its capacity, in order to improve the security situation.

At Sandvik Materials Technology, Argon gas is used as furnace atmosphere when heattreating hot rolled wire. Upon heating chromium steel wire, a rich oxidelayer forms on the wire surface. The abstract of this masters thesis is to enhance the understanding of the constitution of the oxidelayers and the influence of the furnace atmosphere. This will be achieved by performing a number of annealing experiments on laboratory level. Also, the aim is to understand the chemical reactions and physical mecanisms controlling the pickling process.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att jag vill dokumentera min kreativa process från första gången jag börja skriva nytt material, till att för första gången framföra det för en publik för att sedan utveckla till en hel (examens) konsert. Huvudfråga: hur fungerar min kreativa process och hur förhåller jag mig till den? Jag har använt mig av att skriva processdagbok under ett och ett halvt år. Jag har kommit fram till att jag i min kreativitet behöver vara strukturerad och ha ett visst mått av disciplin och rutiner och försöka hålla en distans mellan mig och mitt skapande och samtidigt våga vara öppen och driva processen framåt även om jag inte riktigt vet vad slutmålet blir.Min uppfattning om ordet kreativitet har också under arbetet med denna uppsats förändrats. Från att vara något abstrakt och mystiskt med en bild av att de som kallades kreativa var speciella människor, genier, som mer eller mindre hade en speciell gåva till en uppfattning om att kreativitet är en egenskap vi alla har som med rätt förutsättningar och sammanhang kan övas och utvecklas..

Syftet med vår studie är att skapa en förståelse för begreppet Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) och hur det kan implementeras, på strategisk och operationell nivå, för att genomsyra en hel verksamhet. Vårt ämnesval grundar sig på att vi anser att företag inom tjänstesektorn saknar kunskap och tillvägagångssätt för hur CSR kan realiseras och gå från planering till handling.Vi har använt en kvalitativ metod i vår studie, den är djupgående och söker det unika hos varje uppgiftslämnare. Under studiens gång har vi växlat mellan empiri och teori för att kunna argumentera och analysera insamlat material med visionen om att nå ett lönande resultat. Den abduktiva ansatsen beskriver därför bäst vårt tillvägagångssätt. Researrangörer och utvalda intressentrepresentanter är vårt empiriska undersökningsområde, vi har genomfört åtta intervjuer för att granska hur de anser att arbetet med CSR kan definieras och praktiseras.Vår studie har visat att den mest rättvisande beskrivningen av CSR handlar om att företag ska bidra till en hållbar samhällsutveckling genom att på frivillig basis ta hänsyn till miljömässiga och sociala aspekter i sin affärsverksamhet.  Det är en långsiktig process som måste implementeras i företags kärnverksamhet och vara en naturlig del av den dagliga driften.

Colours have been proven to have both a great physical and psychological impact on human beings. This essay investigates the rebranding of 37 Health Care Centers, located in Norrbotten, Sweden, and how 10 interviewees have experienced the new choice of colour on the logotypes of these Health Care Centers.The theoretical framework used in this research process, consists of theories related to rebranding, the communication process, encoding/decoding and Goethe?s Theory of Colours.To gather information about how the 10 inhabitants have experienced the new choice of colour, a semistructured form of interview was used. In addition to these interviews, three people employed by Norrbotten County Council (NLL) were interviewed, to get to know more about the rebranding process and the message behind the chosen colours of the logotype.Results show that the inhabitants had an overall positive reaction to the new colour choices, but that younger target groups lacked information about the new logotype and the rebranding.Due to these results, recommendations were made that NLL should expand the quantity of media channels to reach these younger target groups, and thereby be able to attract more patients to their Health Care Centers. NLL would also profit from investigating the inhabitants experiences related to the new colour choices themselves, but in a larger scale, to achieve greater knowledge of how to proceed with colour choices in the future..

Background: In our case study we have been studying a company that during the last seven years have tried to implement the control system Balanced Scorecard. They have during this period made three attempts. According to Kaplan and Norton, the creators of Balanced Scorecard, it should take about 16 weeks to implement a Balanced Scorecard. Purpose: Our purpose is to investigate which factors that influence the possibility to implement Balanced Scorecard. Method: We have conducted a case study where we have studied implementation at three levels in a company.

Background: Patients with cervical spinal cord injuries are often dependent on a mechanical ventilator due to the damage on the innervation to breathing musculature. During rehabilitation they have to be trained to regain own breathing. This unweaning process may give respiratory complications, which are main causes to morbidity and death. These respiratory complications are traditionally treated in an intensive care unit (ICU), which means that the patients have to return back to these emergency units.Aim: To investigate number, length and causes of returns to intensive care units and the length of the weaning process. Further, to compare if a multidisciplinary approach to the weaning process may reduce ICU returns and to shorten the weaning process.

Undersökningen är kvalitativ och baseras på enkätfrågor samt intervjuer, urvalet i undersökningen består av pedagoger från olika yrkeskategorier på två mindre, mellansvenska skolor med förskoleklass till år 5. Dessutom intervjuade vi rektorer,specialpedagog, speciallärare samt skolsköterska.Resultatet visade att det finns en samsyn även om det skiljer sig åt i vissa anseenden. Rektor har yttersta ansvaret för att ett åtgärdsprogram upprättas och delar, tillsammans med sin personal, synen på nyttan av ett åtgärdsprogram..

The purpose of this thesis has been to investigate the effect of introducing the qualitystandard ISO 9001:2000 at Metso Paper Service in Sundsvall. The investigation has been focused on implementation of the new method of work, Continuous improvements. The implementation has been studied in a case study with both a qualitative and quantitative method. Continuous Improvements is a way of working focused on continuously increasing the efficiency and having the purpose of achieving the formulated goals. This is often accomplished by the organisation carrying out the changing process to a great extent in small but efficient teams.

Larmet ska vara en box som placeras ut på en strategisk plats för att detektera avvikelser i vibrationer med hjälp av ett digitalt filter. Larmet har ett brett användningsområde för mobila och stationära applikationer. Larmboxen kommer vara ansluten till Internet via en inbyggd mobiltelefon (GPRS). Där finns också en inbyggd GPS-mottagare för att bestämma boxens position.

The purpose of the present investigation was to identify how knowledge about goal-setting is developed and applied in practice of male players in the Swedish national floorball team, by using a qualitative methodology. Participants were 6 players playing for the Swedish national team. They were asked to respond to the interview questions in relation to their perception of setting goals for a successful outcome in sports, how their goal- setting process has developed and how they deal with goal setbacks and goal attainment. Results revealed that Swedish national players in floorball employed goal setting often for both individual and team goals in practice and competition. In addition, many interesting findings regarding the process of goal setting emerged in the result.
