The purpose of this paper was to investigate how some teachers interpret, teach and assess listening strategies. Our investigation was based on interviews and a questionnaire answered by some year 9 English teachers. Furthermore, the aim was to study whether awareness and teaching of listening strategies are important for teachers in their everyday practice. The results indicate that the teachers interpret listening strategies as purposes for listening, such as listening for detail or the whole. The teachers do not explicitly teach listening strategies, and they do not assess them.

Bakgrund: reumatoid artrit eller kronisk ledgångsreumatism, är en sjukdom som styrs av immunologiska reaktioner som orsakar leddestruktion med symtom som ledstelhet, trötthet, allmän sjukdomskänsla samt smärta. Enligt tidigare forskning har speciellt fatigue och smärta rapporterats vara de största konsekvenserna av sjukdomen. Syfte: syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa hur vuxna personer med reumatoid artrit påverkas av smärta och fatigue. Metod: metoden för litteraturstudien inspirerades utifrån sju steg beskrivna av Willman m fl (2011) för att finna och bedöma relevant vetenskaplig litteratur. Sökningar gjordes i PubMed och Cinahl och efter granskning valdes tio vetenskapliga artiklar ut för vidare analys.

In some areas, it differs in the calculation rules comparedwith rules from the Swedish Transport Administration and the National Board ofHousing, Building and Planning calculation. Fatigue verification is one area where thenew calculation rules are different from the past.A large part of the report has been to interpret and find the relevant information inthe Eurocodes concerning fatigue. When questions or doubts have surfaced, this hasbeen discussed with Elisabeth Helsing at the Swedish Transport Administration andbridge designers at Ramboll.The result is a report where the structure is organized in the way that the bridgedesigners can move from cover to cover and realize that fatigue verification in realityfollows the same order as the report's sections.

The population of asylum seekers puts new challenges on the Swedish health care since their difficulties are complex; having both atraumatic background and a continuing worry about the asylum process.This study aims at investigating how health care professionals working with asylum seekers are affected emotionally using the theoretical concepts of empathy, compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction. Nine qualitative interviews with health care professionals were conducted and the material was analyse dusing thematic analysis. Results were deductively found in thematerial, using the asylum process itself along with the concepts of empathy, compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction as themes. Previous findings regarding empathy and its relations to compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction were confirmed. This was furhter developed in this study through its focus on health care professionals working with asylum seekers..

När sedan behandlingen är slutförd kvarstår problemet med trötthet, och behov finns av rehabilitering som syftar till att patienten ska återgå till en normal nivå av trötthet. Antalet patienter som överlever sin cancerbehandling ökar och då även deras behov av rehabilitering. BAKGRUND Multipel skleros (MS) är en neurologisk sjukdom som drabbar centrala nervsystemet. Sjukdomen bryter vanligtvis ut i 20-40 årsåldern och ger neurologiska symtom ex. domningar. MS är än så länge obotlig, men sedan i början av 2000-talet finns effektiva bromsmediciner. Fatigue är ett engelskt ord som beskriver den sjukliga trötthet som kan uppträda vid exempelvis MS.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka risken för Compassion Fatique hos sjuksköterskor vid Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala. Compassion Fatigue är då en person som konsekvens av sitt empatiska engagemang gentemot en annan person blir emotionellt utmattad. En enkätstudie bland psykiatrisjuksköterskor och sjuksköterskor inom den somatiska vården gjordes, dessa jämfördes i avseende på Compassion Fatique-risk. Huvudresultatet tyder på att nästan en fjärdedel av sjuksköterskorna som grupp är i riskzonen för att utveckla Compassion Fatique och att närmare 40 % av alla deltagare var i riskzonen för att utveckla utbrändhet. 21,9 % låg under referensvärdet för Compassion Satisfaction, vilket innebär att man ej känner sig tillfredställd med sin arbetssituation.

The damage can come from the mechanism of two flows mixing with different temperatures in a T-junction. It is a fundamental prerequisite that these T-junctions are frequently tested for damages. An amount of criterias steers the rate of testings.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva sjuksköterskans omvårdnadsåtgärder gentemot patienter med cancer vid cytostatikarelaterat håravfall, fatigue, illamående och kräkning. De vetenskapliga artiklar som användes för denna litteraturstudie hämtades ur Högskolan Dalarnas databaser Elin@Dalarna och PubMed. Efter kvalitetsgranskning och betygsättning av artiklarna kvarstod 18 artiklar som ansågs relevanta och låg till grund för resultatet av denna studie. Samtliga artiklar bedömdes ha en god vetenskaplig kvalitet. Resultatet av denna litteraturstudie visade att behandling mot håravfall med kylmössa hade god effekt men att biverkningarna kunde vara svåra att uthärda.

This research paper has the aim of examining Swedish and Australian teachers? knowledge base and use of learning strategies in their language classes. After conducting qualitative interviews, the interviewees? answers are tabled to corresponding descriptions of how strategies are communicated in current curricula of the two countries. The answers confirm that teachers? understanding of learning strategies partly agree with previous research on strategies.

Bakgrund: Cancer drabbar ca 50 000 personer varje år i Sverige. En vanligt förekommande behandling mot cancer är cytostatika. Cancerrelaterad fatigue definieras som en trötthet som uppkommer i samband med en cancersjukdom och som inte kan botas med vila eller sömn. Det är den mest förekommande biverkningen hos cytostatikabehandlade patienter och ger både psykiska, fysiska och ekonomiska konsekvenser. Farmakologiska behandlingar avsedda att lindra cancerrelaterad fatigue är kostsamma och medför biverkningar varför försiktighet rörande användandet av dessa bör iakttas.

Breakdowns of welded structures are usually a consequence of fatigue loading. Fatigue fractures are commonly initiated in the region close to the weld toe but can also initiate from the weld root and from discontinuities inside the weld. The purpose of this investigation was to examine the weld quality of welded joints produced at Volvo Wheel Loaders factory in Arvika. The goal of the investigation is to give a clearer insight regarding factors influencing the fatigue strength of the welded joints and thereby give a better foundation for fatigue strength calculations.The investigation is including examination of the weld geometry, weld discontinuities and the effects of shot peening. Mainly three different methods for collecting test data have been used: Plastic replicas cast on the weld profile, weld specimens from a rear frame belonging to a wheel loader of model L110E/120E and Almen testing of the shot peening.The results showed that it is not possible to control even transition between the weld material and the base material without after treatment.
