Kommunikation i kulturens tjänst : En kvalitativ studie om Umeå kommuns kommunikationsarbete under kulturhuvudstadsåret 2014
Purpose/aim: The purpose of this thesis is to examine if, and in that case how, the municipality of Umeå worked strategically with its communication during 2014 when Umeå was chosen as ?European Capital of Culture?. The research is mainly focused on the outlines of their communication plan, main goals, what communication strategies the municipality has chosen to and their choice of media channels.Material/method: Two methods are used for this research; qualitative interviews with four employees within the communication team during Umeå2014 and a text analysis of three formal documents which provide the framework of communication policies and media strategies during Umeå2014.Results: The results clearly indicate a well structured, strategic planning outlined in the formal documents. The four people intreviewed all had a good knowledge of the policies and strategies in the documents, they also described their work in accordance with these..

The postindustrial market increasingly demands service infused products to add more value to the customer in order to be competitive. Much research regarding digitalized services indicates that companies have to be innovative in order to compete on the market. However, companies within different industries face different challenges with digital service development. This study has been conducted because there are little known about the opportunities and the challenges different industries faces with a globalized market. Our research question is what the challenges are and what opportunities does strategic digital service development entails for companies.
Bedömningsgrunder för boendestöd : en intervjustudie med biståndshandläggare i Uppsala kommun
This bachelor thesis aims to investigate how social workers in Uppsala describe their procedure when investigating applications for housing assistance (i.e. boendestöd). Boendestöd is a specific type of services for people with disabilities, which aim to assist them in their lives. This welfare service is one of many regulated by the framework legislation that is the social services act (SoL 2001:453). Previous research indicates that civil servants who make decisions based on goal-oriented framework legislations like SoL, have a great freedom to act when they make judgments and decisions.
Luftfartsverket till LFV : En studie i ett förnyande av ett varumärke
The 1st of January this year the state owned Swedish Luftfartsverket changed their name into the shorter name LFV. The shorter LFV is a more modern version in terms of that the name is a proof of that the classic organisation of the state, Luftfartsverket, with this stepbreaks through boarders and finds new ways. Plans have existed before but since 2005 when Luftfartsverket lost its assignments from the government and become a state owned business corporation, the plans have intensified. Now, also for all the employees, it isgetting obvious that something is going on in the organisation.The purpose of this paper is to see how this newly made change of name and logotype have been recieved and how it has effect the strategic choosen respondents within the organisation LFV. These choosen respondents have thorough knowledge of the organisation of LFV.

Abstract Title: Grades at Primary School ? A study of local politicians' arguments in connection with the division into grades at Swedish primary schools.Author: Annie LinderUniversity of KalmarC-essay in Social StudiesAutumn 2011 The study aims to investigate local politicians' decisions since municipalities took overSwedish primary education in 1990/91. The arguments put forward in support of how stages are organised have been studied, likewise whether municipalities have acted rationally when making their decisions.Six municipalities are included in the survey. They were divided into three educational categories: lower, middle and high level schools; previous and recent schools and F9 schools with pre-schools and primary schools integrated.Minutes from politicians' and civil servants' meetings have been studied and categorised according to arguments for and against. The most common supportive arguments are about economy and organisation, others concern school premises, trends and the wish for a comprehensive compulsory school.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to understand how three municipal property reasons around investment in CSR and to identify different factors why investing in CSR differs between municipal property companies. Methodology: A qualitative study with abductive conducted semi-structured interviews of three municipally owned housing companies. Conclution: The municipal real estate industry uses CSR as a strategy to gain different benefits such as brand recognition. By acting responsibly, companies will strengthen their legitimacy and create long-term economic gain.
Är Pick and Roll övervärderat? : En studie av den vanligaste spelmetodiken inom internationell basketboll
AimThe aim with this study was to analyse how Strategic decisions through schemas of play, in this case the Pick and Roll, effect the end result of a basketball game. Following questions were answered:? How often is the Pick and Roll used? The total sum per team and game?? What field goal percentage generates the Pick and Roll?? How often generates the Pick and Roll turnovers?? How often does the attacking team receive foul during Pick and Roll, and what is the team awarded from the foul situation?? How often is the Pick and Roll interrupted without any effect?MethodTo be able to answer the questions in our study we videoanalysed 2251 Pick and Roll-situations from the European Championships for Men in 2003 through video analysis. We used nine different categories to sort the 2251 Pick and Roll situations.ResultsThe Pick and Roll is executed 62,53 times per game, or viewed as 0,43 Pick and Roll / possession. Points / possession during the games was 1,04 while points / Pick and Roll was 0,60.

psychological decision traps exist. If so, it can lead to pernicious

Purpose: To investigate if investors fall into four different psychological
decisions traps: anchoring, confirming evidence, overconfidence and regression
towards mean, at investments in IPOs
Method: We have collected data through a form of experiment.

Problem: The authors have, during the process of development of this thesis, tried to create an understanding of how a number of organizations, all working with different approaches around the ?brand Sweden?, perceive the efficiency and benefits of using extended concept around embassies as a tool in their strategic work. The embassies in question have an evolved concept in the sense that they don not only hold a traditional political and legal role. The problem facing us authors was the issue whether theses embassies are efficient arenas to coordinate the forces and resources of the organizations concerned, in the mission to enhance the visibility and awareness of Sweden abroad.Purpose: The purpose is to describe the strategic work with marketing Sweden to be able to look in to whether the evolved concept behind the embassies in question are used as a tool in within the work of the organizations. Utveckling av minimax-baserad agent för strategispelet Stratego
Stratego is a boardgame not very different from chess, that contains hidden information. Because of this, existing programs play at beginner level. The purpose of this thesis is to adjust a minimax algorithm so that it passes the demands of Stratego, and then build a Stratego agent around it. Tests with existing minimax algorithms leads to the development p-e-minimax. This algorithm uses two different values in its nodes to simulate the different information available to the agent and its opponent.

Young adults with mild intellectual disability and their thoughts about the own home was investigated and is described in this thesis. A qualitative research method was used, and the respondents thoughts about where and how to live were gathered through interviews. The investigation is based on the theoretical concept of normality, identity and quality of life since these aspects are important components of the individual's positive experiences of their homelife. People with disabilities has rights goverened by law, but in this thesis the individuals subjective experiences, feelings and wishes are described. The importance of the individual2019s rights to make their own decisions, feeling of pericipation and personal security was found to be important factors for a satisfying living environment.

The characteristics of competitive advantage also depend on and change with continuous changes on a market. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to study the competitive advantages that are presenton a current market characterized by public procurement and how these are created. The purposes is also to based on the trends on the market today study and predict the nature of the competitive advantage on the market in the future as well as the changes that we think will occur on the relevant market.
Corporate Social Responsibility in Corporate Sweden: Drivers and Business Impact from a Strategic Management Perspective
This thesis purpose was to contribute to knowledge which could explain the driving forces behind Corporate Social Responsibility in corporate Sweden and their strategic impact from a management perspective. The method used to archive this research was a qualitative interpretative study conducted by interviews. The thesis is based on descriptive theories of drivers for CSR, concepts of strategy and CSR and normative/instrumental theories suggesting a strategic approach to CSR and stakeholder management. The empirical study is based on interviews with Swedish business managers in a strategic board position as well as consultants working with CSR strategies, supported with internet information from companies? webpage.

A positive aspect of globalization, from a western viewpoint, is the growing demand of advanced products in China and other developing countries. The construction industry is thriving in China and Swedish companies have taken part in various projects. However the situation have been difficult for some of the companies. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate how strategic and cultural factors affect the potential for Swedish companies to operate on the Chinese construction market. The theoretical framework of the study consists of Porter?s and Kotler?s theories about strategy, and Hofstede?s, Bjerke?s, and Daun?s research about different cultures.
