My essay explores how people talk about a woman´s supernatural ability in relation to normality and abnormality. In order to find this out I´ve made interviews with people inclose relations to Hildur Lawergren. Hildur lived all her life in Fole on Gotland where she was often interviewed in local papers and on the radio about her predictions on the coming weather. She used melted candles to make her predictions. The candles were melted down on Christmas eve.

The purpose of this study was to examine what previous research says about children?s experiences living in a low-income family. Its aim was to found out what children themselves say about their life living in a low-income family and what consequences, practical and emotional, low-income environment has on children. More specifically our aim was to find out how children themselves experienced their situation compared with their peer?s economical situation.

Minoriteter i samhället riskerar att bli exkluderade och diskriminerade på olika sätt. Transsexuella är en grupp som är utsatta för dessa risker inte bara i samhället utan också i vården. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa faktorer som påverkar mötet mellan sjukvårdspersonal och transsexuella i vården. Transsexuella hade svårigheter att finna vårdpersonal som var respektfulla angående deras könsidentitet, detta gav till följd en barriär till vården och gjorde den svåråtkomlig. Vidare upplevde patientgruppen ointresse från personal och det resulterade i en brist gällande deras vårdbehov.

This study intends to investigate the experiences of labeling on people with a ADHD diagnos and how individuals with an ADHD diagnosis handles labeling. In today's society normality is is something that is pursued and the individuals that do not meet the normality are perceived as deviant. The study is conducted with a qualitative method and is based on three autobiographies where individuals with an ADHD diagnosis writes about their life. The study deals with postmodern constructivism which is explaining that the normalization and deviances are constantly changing, both depending on time and context. The results and analysis of this study are presented under three main headings that are related to the study's research questions.

Amalie Skram (1846-1905) was born in Norway but lived in Denmark. She published several books about gender relations and built up a reputation as a naturalistic writer. In 1894, a nervous breakdown made her seek help from the famous psychiatrist Knud Pontoppidan. He sent her to an asylum, but she returned home after spending two months in psychiatric care. In 1895, Skram published two novels about the painter Else Kant, based on her own experiences but not written as autobiographies.

This thesis examines young people's thoughts about their presence on social media. With asocial constructive approach the study focused on how young people think and act on socialmedia in relation to constructions of gender and normality. The analysis is based on fourgroup interviews with 13-year old boys and girls. The theoretical approach is based partly onsocial constructionism where discourses and ideas of normality are identified and analyzed.Erving Goffman's theory of social interaction was central to illustrate how young peoplepresents themselves based on the prevailing discourses. It is clear that they adjust theirrepresentations of themselves depending on the context.

Aim and Problem statement The study aimed to investigate views on physical health amongst patients in methadone maintenance program, which is a subject little explored. Previous studies suggest that methadone patients are at risk developing illnesses related to the metabolic syndrome and an unhealthy lifestyle. Methadone also has side effects such as weight gain and irregular levels of glucose. Method This qualitive study included seven interviews with patients in the methadone maintenance program in Uppsala. ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is a phenomena that is much talked about in both schools and in communities. Today, there is a conflict surrounding the diagnosis ADHD. A part of the conflict takes part between the sociologist Eva Kärfve and Christopher Gillberg, professor in child- and teenage psychology. The roots of this conflict surrounds the much debated line of what is seen as normal and ?too? different, basically how many children that actually should have the diagnosis.

Därtill har det syftat till att belysa hur det vidgade textbegreppet förhåller sig till en kommunikativ språksyn. För att komma ifrån de problem som begreppet ?ett vidgat textbegrepp? skapar har här använts ett nytt uttryck, ?kommunikativa uttryck? eftersom det på ett bra sätt fångar upp det man vill uppnå med det vidgade textbegreppet. Metoden som har använts för detta har varit att jämföra de tre första kapitlen i vart och ett av läromedlen, Straight Forward English 5(Harling et al, 2006), Blueprint A version 2.0(Lundfall et al, 2008) samt Core English 1 (Gustafsson et al, 2008). Materialet har jämförts ur två aspekter; dels vilka typer av kommunikationsuttryck som förekommer i texterna, dels vilka instruktioner som har återfunnits i läromedlen och lärarhandledningarna för att bearbeta de olika kommunikationsuttrycken. Arbetet har kommit fram till två viktiga slutsatser. Den första slutsatsen är att många olika kommunikationsuttryck finns representerade i de tre första kapitlen i läromedlen Straight Forward English 5 (Harling et al, 2006), Blueprint A version 2.0 (Lundfall et al, 2008) och Core English 1(Gustafsson et al, 2008). Dock är de övningar som finns med för att bearbeta dessa kommunikationsuttryck i första hand där för att fördjupa elevernas förståelse av texterna.

Nine years ago the sociologist Eva Kärfve published a book that was very critical to the newborn psychiatrics diagnosing of children as a way of segregating groups in society.

En ofta förbisedd aspekt inom filmkonsten är hur landskapet kan samspela med och inverka på handlingen och manifestera huvudkaraktärernas känsloliv. Uppsatsen syftar till att skapa en djupare förståelse för den roll landskapet spelar i film utifrån en detaljstudie av två personligt utvalada roadmovies; Återkomsten (A. Zvyagintsev, 2003) och The Straight Story (D. Lynch, 1999). Jag redogör för hur landskapsbilden har utvecklats ur bildkonsten sedan århundraden tillbaka, långt innan kinematografins uppkomst. Utifrån mina studier har jag utvecklat och sammanställt en samling metoder och frågeställningar som används för att tydligare beskriva och ge svar på vilken roll landskapet spelar i de två filmerna - och som i förlängningen kan tillämpas på film i allmänhet. Undersökningen visar att det finns en mängd moment inom film för att signalera en allegorisk avsikt till publiken; vissa mer konventionella och närmast schablonmässiga medan andra är subtila och fungerar som en allegorisk beståndsdel i filmberättandet. Precis som människan präglar landskapet, präglar landskapet också människan i en slags växelverkan i de studerade filmerna. Landskap ger oss möjlighet att skapa mening i filmiska händelser och det kan symbolisera och uttrycka det som inte kan sägas i ord. Landskapet kan understryka och förstärka känslor som yttras och har förmågan att återspegla våra allra innersta subjektiva upplevelser av världen..
