Modern societies are generally becoming increasingly capitalist in nature and economies of these societies are thus likely to become more focused on consumer consumption. Advertising plays a vital role in contemporary society where we, as consumers and citizens, are surrounded by it everywhere we look and everywhere we go. This puts pressure on advertisers to become more creative and to explore new ways of marketing their products and services in an already saturated environment. We believe that the added pressure and the already established role of marketing in society make advertisements an interesting and telling object for analysis. This is particularly the case with regards to the concept of selling and marketing products that have qualities that are known to be less than beneficial for our health.This paper analyzes four commercial advertisements marketing beer; a product that we argue has qualities that can be seen as potentially bad for the health of individuals and for societies.

The aim of this paper is to examine how gender roles are described in two children's books and compare the results against the curriculum Lgr11 's values. The compared books have different aims though one of the analyzed books claimed to go against the gender roles and the other one isn?t. The method of analysis is discourse analysis and deconstruction of the text by using Nikolajeva´s (2004) pattern for stereotype gender descriptions and Kåreland´s (2005) analysis of story actions based on gender representations in children's literature. The analysis of the texts shows that there are differences between how the two books characters are described depending on gender. What emerges is that in one of the books femininity is valued high but instead it lacks equality between the sexes, while in the second book the main characters are described as equal even though the other characters are described in a stereotypical way.

The aim of this paper is to investigate what part film music plays in the creation of stereo-types in the production of Swedish cinema, in the 1990s and early 2000s. This period of Swedish cinema was largely defined through the visualization of life in the smaller provinces of the country. The results were reached through the analyzing of four important works of this era, representing different provinces and genres. The examined movies have shown frequent use of extreme characters and a somewhat hostile environment in search of an interesting story. The music is used in ways of describing class differences amongst the inhabitants and to set the gen-eral mood of the concerned provinces: an agent often working in the unconscious of the viewer in order to affect the final results..

Living with this disease means being exposed to severe strain and every day could bring new losses. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis does not cause any harm to the intellect, the mind remains unaffected. The aim of this study was to achieve an understanding, and to shed light on the nature of positive life experiences of people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. keywordsThis was a project about the process of animation and the presentation of looped animations in the form of a zine.My main subject for the project was to explore the possibilities of the computer program After Effects and how to incorporate the functions of this program with my hand drawn technique. I wanted to keep the hand drawn feeling and at the same time make use of all the helpful short cuts and utilities that this program had to offer. I found that this program was quite suitable for this kind of work, although I didn?t feel completely satisfied when it came to the amount of animations that I was able to put together. At the end of the project I had completed six loops (plus a older one) for the CD that came with the printed zine.Another big issue in working with this was the question of theme and content for all the different loops.

In this essay I?ve chosen to do a comparative analysis of the two films Män som hatar kvinnor (Niels Arden Oplev, 2009) and The girl with a Dragon tattoo (David Fincher, 2011) based on feministic theories. I have done this with the intent of comparing the two versions way of viewing the woman. The analysis is based on my own questions, observations and interpretations, and has a hermeneutic approach.My conclusion is that ?The girl with at Dragon tattoo? is closer to Stieg Larsson?s original story that both films are based upon, though the Swedish film Män som hatar kvinnor has got more of a feministic purpose.

The essay is a text centred study of ten Young Adult Novels, in which Internet plays an essential part. The structure is put into light out of used narrative techniques of how to create stories and its construction elements. I compare the ten Young Adult novels to each other. My aim is to analyze the functions of the Internet motive in the chosen novels, using different approaches, and enlighten it with concerns to the new phenomenon that Internet is in society. I denna studie så kommer jag att analysera MMORPG-spelet World of Warcraft genom att utföra en analys i hopp om att isolera spelmekanismer och element som kan anses vara välfungerande och väldesignade. Jag kommer dessutom att bryta ner World of Warcraft till dess kärnkomponenter med hjälp av Interaction Centric Framework modellen som ett komplement till denna studie. Resultaten visar att World of Warcraft använder sig av många slags egenskaper och designval som skiljer sig själv från andra spel, som att dra ner på story element och att destillera spelets kärna till en väldigt grundlig ?morot-och-piska? formel som låter spelaren kunna spela oavbrutet utan att känna något skäl att sluta spela. .

En experimentell metod har valts där 22 deltagare instruerats att skriva en bildtext, en innehållsbeskrivning och en beskrivning av upplevelsen av tre fotografier. Deltagarna beskrev bilderna med viss likhet i konstruktion oavsett bild.
