Safety, its a word not commonly associated with elderly people living alone. There is however a device that is supposed to bring safety, and enable elderly people to continue living in their present household - an emergency dialer. However these devices does not serve their own purpose in terms of design. Thepurpose of this study is to create an emergency dailer that everybody would want to put on their wrist or bedside table. The market for these devices have looked the same for the last twentyfive years, despite of society´s advancements in both design and technology.

Det slutliga konceptet är ett underrede med två centrala konstruktionslösningar; en hydraulcylinder som medger vertikal sitthöjdsjustering, samt en vaggfunktion i sittplattan som medger ökad balans vid vinkeljustering. Rapporten är en reflekterande text som behandlar arbetsprocessen och omkringliggande mål för ett examensarbete inom medier som bedrivits mot Högskolan Skövde. Syftet med examensarbetet har varit att analysera huruvida en iterativ arbetsform inger fler fördelar än nackdelar vid level design till Unreal Tournament 3. Rapporten tar i diskussionsform upp delar ur hela produktionen för att redovisa utmaningar, framsteg och lösningar författaren bemött. En inblick ges för hur en iterativ level design-produktion kan utföras och för- respektive nackdelar gällande olika delar av denna specifika process. Slutsatsen som dras hävdar att det för med sig många fördelar att lägga upp arbetet iterativt.

Denna C-uppsats är ett resultat av ett examensarbete som fokuserat på design som är kritisk till industrins agenda för att producera en produkt. Den är kritiskt till produktdesignerns roll som bunden till att leverera vad marknaden säger sig önska. Den är också kritisk till produktdesignerns modus operandi, att om designfältstudier utförs, finns redan beslutet att något ska produceras ? inte tvärt om. Uppsatsen korrelerar en marknad i överflöd med ökad stress på arbetsplatsen.

SammanfattningSyftet med studien var att beskriva distriktssköterskors reflektioner kring att arbeta med kroniska bensår. Studien genomfördes som en semistrukturerad intervjustudie och hade deskriptiv design. Totalt sexton distriktssköterskor intervjuades, åtta distriktssköterskor med landstinget som arbetsgivare och åtta distriktssköterskor med kommunal arbetsgivare. Materialet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet visade att distriktssköterskorna ansåg att arbetet med kroniska bensår var ett vanligt förekommande arbetsmoment samt att bristande samarbete från patienten var en bidragande orsak till långa behandlingstider och utebliven sårläkning.

The aims of the practical work carried out for this thesis were to redesign a clinical decision support system for thoracic surgeons, called AssistMe, and to evaluate the concept behind this system. The main objective of the thesis is to give an account of the considerations that were found to be of key importance for designing a clinical decision support system for thoracic surgery. Another aim was to let future users test the system after it had been redesigned and evaluate the concept behind it. The thesis also investigates users? experience of the system and their views on whether it would be applicable in their daily work practice.

This thesis is covering my design of an architectural object for the use in a pedagogical setting. The purpose is to create contextual premises for students, making possible the testing of designs, involving plants suitable for the urban environment. Hence, the main features in the object design is suggestive to the urban outdoor rooms - rooms that are formed amongst the city facades. The thesis is also about the design process set out from a technical reality, based on camera imagery. To a large extent, the thesis consists of reflections concerning the object's function towards pedagogy, perception and materials. Furthermore, the object claims to be a hybrid between architecture and landscape architecture.

This is a thesis on D-level. In a previous course, at our program Computer Science, we came up with an idea of how to improve/complement training for new employees who are situated in a stressful workplace at companies who are in a constant need of rehiring. We developed this concept and came up with an idea for a simulator that could train staff as well as relieve stress and tension for new employees. The idea matured and became a Serious Game simulator based on a dual-wield Wii-controlled PC-based simulator with Bluetooth support.The purpose of this paper is to produce a design concept for a simulator as well as conducting research on the topics: mental and physical learning abilities, psychomotor abilities, visual perception, hand-eye coordination, confidence, simulators and Serious Games. The conducted research will be the foundation for the design concept which will be implemented in our co-workers', Henrik Djerf & Daniel Gomez-Ortega, prototype.

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to analyse how the libraries in the district of Tranemo was affected by the fusion of municipalities between 1952 and 1974, when 13 municipalities was merged into one. My major findings are that one of the libraries became the main library and libraries of the other villages became branch libraries. The main library could increase its quality by employ an educated librarian and move to a place that was more adapted to its purpose. The library loans increased. This course of events seems to be common for what happened to Swedish libraries when there were a lot of fusions of municipalities these years..

Är det mest fördelaktigt att hyra eller äga sin bostad? Vi har jämfört två europeiska storstadsmetropoler, Stockholm och Paris. Frågan är vilka aspekter som spelar in vid val av boendeform? De aspekter vi tittat på är inkomst, bristen på hyresrätter, ränteförändringar, lånevillkor gällande amorteringar, ombildningar till bostadsrättsföreningar, marknadshyror och den högt värderade bostadsmarknaden. Genom enkätundersökningar och intervjuer i de båda städerna har vi kommit fram till ett flertal skillnader på de båda bostadsmarknaderna.

The purpose of the project was to design an electric bicycle to offer thetarget group youth an attractive alternative to mopeds. The basis for theproject was user studies in which young people were interviewed andobserved in their daily environment.The project resulted in a product, designed with the focus of integratingthe battery to the shape, to create a wholeness that is simple andintuitive.!The product is easy to use and operate, with an automatic transmissionengine.! A smart modular system allows the user to choose design withmudguards, rear rack, or without. Bagarmossen är en förort söder om Stockholm. Området har bebyggelse främst från 50-tal och 70-tal men även en del nutida bebyggelse. I området finns villabebyggelse, hyreshus och ett torg. I samband med att området bebyggdes planterades även gatuträd. De olika tidsepokerna har haft olika trädurval och träden har haft olika förutsättningar för sin etablering och fortlevnad.

Vattenfall Heat AB is a district heat provider in Drefviken, but has yet to establish any cooling systems in this area. This thesis examines the potential client base within the area today and over the coming 20 years. The feasibility of the most common cooling technologies is evaluated and results show a total potential for an installed capacity of 30 MW providing 50 GWh of cooling per year. One of the examined areas shows good prospect for heat driven absorption chillers during the summer months when the heat load is limited..
