Baserat på en rapport från e-hälsomyndigheten tillsammans med allmänt tillgänglig material från Statens Veterinärmedicinska Anstalt och Statens Jordbruksverk fastslås att expedieringen av antimikrobiella medel till hund och katt i Sverige har minskat med c:a 27 % mellan 2009 och 2014. Största delen av de antimikrobiellamedlen förskrivs till hund (70 %). Den mesta använda gruppen av antimikrobiella medel till båda djurslagenär penicilliner. Därefter vanligast använda grupper av antimikrobiella medel till hund är linkosamider,övriga antibakteriella betalaktamer och antibakteriella kinolonderivat. Till katt används näst penicillinerfrämst antibakteriella kinolonderivat och linkosamider.

Immunmedierad hemolytisk anemi (IMHA) är en sjukdom där immunförsvaret skapar antikroppar mot kroppens erytrocyter. Detta aktiverar nedbrytning av erytrocyterna, vilket leder till anemi. Det finns två typer av IMHA: primär och sekundär. Den primära har ännu okänd etiologi medan ett flertal orsaker kan ge upphov till den sekundära. Den primära typen är vanligast hos hund, medan den sekundära är vanligare hos katt.

A method for intra vitam detection of bornaviral infection and diagnosis of bornaviral dis-ease in the cat is currently lacking. The aim of this work was to explore the possibility of using the proximity ligation assay (PLA), with its capacity of recognizing femtomolar con-centrations of a protein, as a method for detection of the minute quantities of antigen and antibodies that are present in the tissues and body fluids of a bornaviraly infected cat. For this purpose reliable comparative assays, in the form of an ELISA and an IFA, had to be established. When this proved impossible within the time frame of the project, the aim of the study had to be abandoned, further underscoring the need for improved means of detec-tion of bornaviral antibodies and antigen..

After the new Planning and Building Act code into force in 2011, the responsibility lie on the developer to ensure laws and regulations. Jag har valt att studera hur salmonellos manifesterar sig kliniskt hos katt, hur katten smittas, vad prevalensen för Salmonella är i olika kattpopulationer, huruvida det finns en risk att denna smitta överförs till människor samt vilka åtgärder som kan vidtas för att undvika smitta.De kliniska symtomen på salmonellos hos katt varierar stort, från gastroenterit med symtom som feber, kräkningar och sekretorisk diarré, till symtom som letargi, pneumoni, epistaxis, endotoxinemi och konjunktivit med avsaknad av gastrointestinala symtom. Katten kan smittas genom kontakt med andra katter eller deras faeces, genom kontaminerad miljö, jakt av vilda fåglar, intag av icke upphettat foder eller transplacentalt. Då prevalensen bland katter varierar beroende på undersökning krävs fler studier för att kunna dra slutsatser avseende utbredningen i den svenska kattpopulationen.Ett flertal studier visar på omständigheter som starkt tyder på att en zoonotisk potential föreligger. The building has from the day of itsopening in 1898 been exposed to threats of demolition since its original purpose was as atemporary building with intension of being replaced within a couple of years. All the ferrytraffic over the straitto Denmark was handeled by the old train- and ferrystation untill 1955, when a competativeferrycompany was built close to the old station. Studien syftade dels till att öka kunskapen om hur beteendeproblem hos hund och katt behandlas farmakologiskt i Sverige och hur veterinärer och djurpsykologer ser på sin egen kompetens inom området.
