Sammanfattning Detta arbete har som syfte att ge förslag på hur man kan använda sig av Malmös parker i undervisningen med tonvikt vid historia och med utgångspunkt i den offentliga grönskan. Metoderna jag använt mig av har varit litteraturstudier av olika slag samt föreläsningar, samtal och grupparbete under kursen Stadens historia på Malmö Högskola samt studiebesök på Malmö stadsarkiv och Stadsbibliotek. Vidare redovisas stöd för tanken att arbeta utifrån parkerna lokalhistoriskt i styrdokumenten och inom historiedidaktiken. En modell för hur man kan använda parken som ett pedagogiskt redskap presenteras samt en förteckning över litteratur innehållande olika övningar och uppgifter att använda i samband med parkbesöken..

This paper addresses the need to review the modern presentation of textile archaeology in museums. It is time to look at textiles in archaeology with new eyes. The reality behind archaeological textilestudy is holistic, embracing many different aspects of society. The presentation of textiles has in my opinion become old-fashioned. I will show in my paper that Jonathan Adams? `seven constraints´ model, developed for research on ancient ships, can also be applied to textile research.

The title of this Master´s thesis is Multicultural librarian competence - a literature study and interwievs with librarians and managers in Malmö Public Library.Every fifth Swede is born abroad or has at least one parent who are. The migration flows of today reach out longer, there are more efficent ways of communication and travel. This has made previously ethnic homogeneous populations as the swedish more and more hetergeneous. Library services to inmigrant users started out as a specially directed activities. The political view of migration has changed over the years and the current perspective is the one of mutual integration and cultural diversity.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to examine how elderly people are depicted in a selection of literature for children up to 10 years. The subjects examined are: lifestyle, roles and attributes. The books were collected from the databases ELSA and a local library, Borås Stadsbibliotek. The books are analysed after a tool made by the authors.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine whether there exists a hegemonic relationship between librarians and users of libraries with a focus on the librarians point of view. The future of movies in the library is also going to be examined. Qualitative interviews were conducted and were examined for signs of hegemony and habitus according to the respective theories. The results of these interviews showed that librarians were in favor of user suggestions to improve the libraries collection. We found that there exists a hegemonic relationship in the libraries, but that it was subliminal and unwanted.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how city librariesmaintain the intellectual freedom in their Internet service. Thediscussion about Internet filters has been quiet in Sweden forseveral years, so I wanted to see if there had been an increased useof filters. I also wanted to see if the city libraries regulated theInternet service in another way. I sent a survey to 100 libraries andgot answer from 83. To explain what intellectual freedom is, I usedStuart Hamilton?s theory about intellectual freedom in the librarycontext.

This is a two years master?s thesis that studies five libraries. The purpose with the paper was to look at a specific material and study how it expresses itself around the architecture of the buildings, an if the descriptions were different depending on the library, public library or university library. The conclusion is that the ways of describing the library buildings have varied; depending on one part time and one part evolution. The way library buildings look and have been used has changed over time also, and as well how people perceive and talk, or in this case write about them..

Undersökningens hypotes är: Mer erfarenhet leder till ett mer likformigt sätt att kategorisera komplexa begrepp. De komplexa begrepp som ingår i kortsortering är 14 st, dessa 14 st komplexa begrepp symboliserar en stor informationsmängd på Vara kommuns websidor.Metoden som används för att undersöka hypotesen är kortsortering. Den valda populationen var "invånare i Vara kommun" och kortsorteringarna utfördes av 30 st försökspersoner på Vara Stadsbibliotek.Analysen av datainsamlingsmaterialet givet av kortsorteringarna utfördes med en kvantitativ metodinriktning. En generell mätning av de båda gruppernas likformighetsgrad, med de matematiska funktionerna; kvadratsumma och totalsumma gav båda de båda grupperna nästan exakt samma likformighetsvärde. En klusteranalys av datainsamlingsmaterialet gav samma klusterbildning för båda grupperna vilket också tyder på att graden av likformighet var relativt lika för de båda grupperna.

The basic questions were: How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service process? How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service contents? How do the respondents look upon this HVB-homes service regarding available information and how the staff is available? What positive and negative experience do they have from their stay at the HVB-home? We also wish to get a picture of what is important to change to improve the quality on this HVB-home. To receive answers to those questions we formed a questionnaire.

The purpose of this study was to find out what different groups of visitors do when they are at Borås City Library. Three issues were formulated from the purpose and they were: What do users do when they visit the City Library in Borås? What occupations do those who visit the library have? What similarities and differences are there in the use of the library depending on the visitors? occupations? To answer these questions a questionnaire was handed out among the visitors at Borås City Library. The theory that was used when the material was analyzed comes from the book?Gør biblioteket en forskel?? and the book is written by Henrik Jochumsen and Casper Hveneegaard Rasmussen.

Jeanine Basingers bok The World War II Combat Film presenterar en annars väldigt oupmärksammad genre, den amerikanska Andra Världskrigs-stridsfilmen. Utifrån den mall som Basinger beskriver i boken har jag här diskuterat och analyserat hur Saving Private Ryan håller sig till mallen som skapats av tidigare stridsfilmer. Mallen består i korthet av en mängd element som används genomgående i genren; såsom gruppen, hjälten, målet och fienden. Dessa element förekommer från den första andra världskrigs-stridsfilmen Bataan från 1943 och har konsoliderats och utvecklats sedan dess. Slutsatsen blir att även om SPR blivit känd som en nydanande och orginell film så är håller den sig nästan slaviskt till mallen, det enda som möjligt kan skilja den lite från andra filmer i genren är det ursprungliga målet, det är inte vanligt att ha ett såpass politiskt inkorrekt mål som att rädda en enda man..

Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka hur bibliotekarier arbetar för att förmedla LL-böcker till dess potentiella läsare. Jag har velat skapa en förståelse för vilka problem som kan omge denna litteraturform sett från bibliotekariernas perspektiv. Undersökningen bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer med bibliotekarier på sammanlagt sex olika bibliotek, tre Stadsbibliotek och tre filialer, i Västerbottens och Norrbottens län. Jag har använt mig av grundad teori som metod för att genomföra undersökningen. Resultatet visade att LL-böcker ofta är ett eftersatt område på biblioteket.

The focus of the thesis is to examine the regional branding ofpublic libraries in Norrbotten, with the main focus on Piteå public library, in order to find trends that indicate a successful branding based on Hariff & Rowley?s (2011) identified key factors.The empirical data has been collected through a triangulation of interviews and documents. The findings show that they have done a proficient preparatory work prior to the regional branding of the public libraries, and that the libraries have worked together with a communication bureau in their marketing strategies since the beginning of the public library cooperation. The results also show that Piteå public library, through branding efforts, received another relationship with the media where the media now occasionally contact the library.The conclusion of the thesis is that Piteå public library promoted the library through campaigns that provide the opportunity for activities and experiences, and that they want to convey the image of itself as a venue for social interaction. The marketing of the libraries fulfill the most of the criteria, but there are still areas of branding that needs to be further explored..

The aim of this thesis is to explore how a bookstore chain and a public library meet the needs of their customers through environmental scanning. The empirical material is derived from six semi-structured interviews with six informants, three from each organization, together with an analysis of internal documents. The method used is a case study and the theoretical framework is based on models used in the process of environmental scanning, as described by Choo, Hamrefors and Hedin & Sandström among others, and which facilitate a comparison of the environmental scanning of the two organizations. The results of the study indicate that the library, as a public organization with a mission in society, perceives the environment as society as a whole and all its members as their users, whereas the bookstore concentrates on the sectors of the environment that affect their sales. The consequences of these different views are that the library is more active in the environment and uses surveys as a basic source of information, while the bookstore is more passive, and relies on statistics for information.
