Har det i sÄ fall nÄgon betydelse för vilket land de identifierar sig med, det vill sÀga ursprungslandet eller Sverige?2.

The purpose of this study is to look into what part libraries take in the integration of mentally disabled persons into the society. What I wanted to know more about was how the mentally disabled persons experience the library. I also wanted to find out what librarians and persons working with mentally disabled persons have to say about the part libraries take in the integration of mentally disabled into the society. The study is based on interviews and literature studies. I have interviewed two librarians, four mentally disabled persons and two persons working with mentally disabled people.
Det osynliga entreprenörskapet : - en intervjustudie av företagare med utlÀndsk bakgrund
The invisible entrepreneurship is a study of owners of businesses with foreign heritage. It describes the unexplored relationship between ethnicity and class within this group of entrepreneurs.The result of the study is a model which I have found to be suitable to use when depicting the relationship between the ethnic profile and class. The model indicates that the importance of ethnicity decreases as both the owner of, and the business reach a more prominent class. The method of collecting data has been interviews with owners of businesses and Grounded theory has been used to analyse this data. Theories on ethnicity, owners of businesses with foreign heritage, and class in relation to ethnicity have been discussed on the basis of social constructivism.
Mellan det sagda och det outsÀgliga : om socialsekreterares kompetens i barnavÄrdsutredningar
The purpose of this essay is to examine the concept of competence within the social services. More specifically it aims to find out how the social workers themselves look upon their own competence in social investigations concerning children. As the study was based on focus groups the main questions were vague at the beginning and were cleared later on during the group sessions.In three focus group interviews in three different municipalities in southern Sweden 11 social workers were asked to discuss this issue. The interviews were then thoroughly transcribed. In the data I identified 9 themes seeming to play a special roll in the discussions about competence: practice; experience; approach; intuition; responsibility; theories, methods and laws; reflection; resources and ethics; specialisation versus integration.The analysis made on these themes was based on two different kinds of perspective; one focusing knowing-in-action and the other focusing the organization framing the competence considered.As a conclusion the 7 first themes can be seen as a definition of the competence used in social investigations concerning children.
Jag har ett liv hÀr. DÀr har jag ingenting. : En kvalitativ studie om hur integration kan pÄverka ensamkommande barns identitet
Syftet med denna uppsats Àr att skapa en förstÄelse för hur integration och etnisk tillhörighet kan pÄverka ensamkommande barns identitetsutveckling. Uppsatsen bygger pÄ en kvalitativ ansats dÀr empirin bestÄr utav semistrukturerade intervjuer med fyra unga vuxna som kom till Sverige som ensamkommande. Vi har analyserat intervjumaterialet genom att utgÄ ifrÄn Meads teori kring symbolisk interaktionism, Antonovskys tankar om att individen behöver en kÀnsla av sammanhang och empowerment. Resultatet visar att sprÄkkunskaper, utbildning och meningsfulla fritidsaktiviteter Àr viktiga faktorer för en god integration för ensamkommande barn, och att deras etniska bakgrund Àr viktig för deras identitet. Hur integrerade de Àr pÄverkar bÄde deras möjligheter till att "lyckas" i Sverige och ökar chanser för en starkare identitetskÀnsla.
Biblioteken som stöd för invandrare under integrationsprocessen - En kvalitativ studie pÄ stadsbiblioteken i Malmö och Lund
The aim of the study was to examine how the public libraries participate in the integration of immigrants in the Malmö-/Lund region. Librarians and immigrants were interviewed about the services offered by the libraries in the area of multiculturalism and what kind of service that is requested by the immigrants. The interviews also included possibilities to contribute to increased knowledge among the native Swedish people about different cultures represented among immigrants in Sweden. From the qualitative analyses it is concluded that the libraries represented in the study contribute to the integration of immigrants. The respondents gave multiple examples of the libraries? usefulness in the integration process by offering immigrants possibilities to develop their knowledge in the Swedish language, and also to find information about the Swedish society and culture.
Jag som rom ska kunna gÄ ut med min kultur i samhÀllet : en studie om integration och brist pÄ integration bland romer i Malmö
 Syfte med denna uppsats Àr att undersöka hur romer upplever sin integration i Malmö. Vi har anvÀnt oss av den kvalitativa metoden dÄ vi har genomfört sammanlagt Ätta intervjuer med mÀn och kvinnor med romsk bakgrund. Vi har utgÄtt frÄn tvÄ sociologiska teorier: Pierre Bourdieus tvÄ begrepp, habitus och kapital och Erving Goffmans teori om stigma samt att arbetet prÀglas genomgÄende av begreppet integration. Dessa teorier anser vi vara relevanta för vÄrt valda Àmne dÀr habitus och de olika kapitalen har som syfte att förklara hur vÄra intervjupersoner betraktar sin integration i Malmö genom de olika möjligheter de har. NÀr personer upplever svÄrigheter med integration kan detta pÄ olika nivÄer associeras till Goffmans teori som handlar om stigmatisering.
SÄ funkar det i Sverige : En studie om förestÀllningar om kultur och etnicitet i integrationsprojekt finansierade av Europeiska Socialfonden
This study aim?s to examine how conceptions regarding culture and ethnicity influence the daily work of personnel in integration projects financed by the European Social Fund (ESF). The method of this study was individual semi-structured interviews with nine persons working in three different projects. The reason why we have chosen these specific projects was because of their work with immigrant participants. Concepts that our study is based on was culture and ethnicity, but also the theory considering in-groups and out-groups.

This essay investigates the integration of the school library into teaching in one of Sweden?s senior high schools and the effects of the new education act which gives school libraries a stronger standing. A second purpose is to investigate teachers? views on professional responsibility with regard to the development of information literacy. Standing outside the EU and the EES, Switzerland is a unique state characterized by federalism, direct democracy and neutrality. Though always focused on preserving these features and its sovereignty, Switzerland has managed to gain access to some sectors of the single market through bilateral agreements with the EU. The purpose of this thesis is to examine what level of integration Switzerland has reached in those bilaterally regulated sectors of the single market. As integration cannot easily be assessed, the extent of the Swiss adoption of the acquis is seen as an indicator of the level of integration and is thus examined. The conclusion is that Switzerland, mostly due to the economic interest of common rules, but partly due to pressure from the EU, almost completely adopts the acquis in the bilaterally regulated sectors, including the interpretation of the ECJ.

Europeisering och Programmatisk FörÀndring : "EuropafrÄgan" i Polska Partiers Politiska Program Under 2000-talet
This study deals with the phenomenon of European integration and its impact on national party programs in Poland, a current member state of the European Union. The author will argue that the question of European integration has left a mark on the political party programs of two mainstream domestic parties on opposite sides of the ideological dimension, in the form of a certain degree of convergence regarding the ?European issue?. Relating the result of the analysis to the theoretical structure of Europeanization and sociological institutional change, the essay will attempt to show a possible link between them. Although this trend does not seem to indicate any dramatic effects of the membership per se in the programs (the national arena seems, in most cases, be of more value for party activities) there is an indirect effect in the form of the presence of Europarties and a pronounced incentive for social and economic adaptation..
Integration genom sprÄk och museipedagogik : Integration through language and museum education
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze how museums, seen as heterotopic places where time and space act simultaneously, can, with the help of museum educators and guides, integrate the foreign citizens in Sweden. The analysis is done with the help of three institutions: The Vasa Museum, the Royal Armory and The Great Synagogue in Stockholm.The author of the thesis argues that recruiting trained personnel with foreign roots by museums would help significantly in the creation of a sense of collective identity and belonging among those citizens who are just adapting to the country. Through the use of Swedish, in conjunction with their mother tongue, as well as analogies, an important contribution can be attained in their integration.In this work, concepts such as the accent, are treated in a categorical manner, as the author, with the assistance of other researchers, concluded that the accent should not influence the perception of the intellectual and work capability of a professional museum educator/guide.History represents another key element in this thesis, as it discusses the way to find a new narrative form to channel history and refer to it, thus sharing historical roots with these new immigrants in Sweden..
Hur integreras fosterhemsplacerade barn i fosterhem?
The purpose of this study is to better understand, from a foster parent perspective, how the integration process of the foster child is carried out in the foster family. The purpose is to identify the challenges and success factors in the process. The study is based on a qualitative method. The data consist of interviews with six foster families. The study?s theoretical framework is mostly based on system theory and also on the theory of ambivalence.The results show that most of our families considered five factors to be important in order to facilitate the integration process.
"En dörr in i samhÀllet och ett fönster ut mot vÀrlden" ? Föreningen som etnisk grÀnsöverskridande mötesplats och social integrationsaktör
Det hÀr Àr en kvalitativ studie med syftet att studera föreningen som en etnisk grÀnsöverskridande mötesplats och social integrationsaktör. Metodologiskt strukturerades studien kring sju halvstrukturerade intervjuer med en föreningsordförande och föreningsaktiva medlemmar frÄn en internationell vÀnskapsförening i en glesbygdskommun i Mellansverige. Empirin har analyserats utifrÄn en teoretisk utgÄngspunkt i socialt kapital. Resultatet visar att det bÄde finns möjligheter för och hinder mot föreningen som etnisk grÀnsöverskridande mötesplats. Föreningen fungerar som etniskt överbryggande i betydelsen av att internt inom föreningen överbrygga etniska och sprÄkliga skiljelinjer, men hinder mot att uppnÄ externa överbryggande vÀrden begrÀnsas av svÄrigheter att nÄ ut till nÀrsamhÀllet och till personer med svensk bakgrund i verksamheten.
