This study aims to seek knowledge of the salutogenic model within geriatric care. This is done by problematizing the female geriatric care personnel?s everyday life and conditions. The study?s comparative empirical focus includes interviews with ten women that work within geriatric care, at two different workplaces.

I denna uppsats har de Svenska medborgarnas inställning i frågan om privatisering av offentlig sektor undersökts. Vi har försökt fastställa om det är inkomst eller politisk ideologi som är den avgörande faktorn när man tar ställning i denna fråga. Vidare har vi tittat på hur dessa båda faktorer förhåller sig till olika sociologiska teoriers beskrivning av vår samtid. För att undersöka detta har en kvantitativ metod och analys använts. Data som har använts kommer från en undersökning gjord av Stefan Svallfors och Jonas Edlund; Umeå universitet.Resultatet visar att de Svenska medborgarna är emot en privatisering av den offentliga sektorn, och att högerblockets väljare inte delar högerpartiernas ståndpunkt i denna fråga.

This study elucidates the perceptions of twelve people at an age between 35 and 50 years, on what influence intoxication and drunkenness in the bar environment. The purpose of this study is to create an understanding of the effect the intoxication has on the visitor in the bar environment and this is done through qualitative method interviews. The theoretical frame we use to analyse the empirical data, is divided in to four parts: set and setting, environment and its regions, social behaviour and genus perspective. The theoretical material, together with the empirical data in the form of the results of the interviews, forms the platform for this paper. It is on the basis of these results that our questions finally will be answered.

Denna undersökning är en kandidatuppsats skriven för institutionen socialt arbete på Södertörns högskola. Undersökningen inriktar sig på ämnet sexberoende som idag är ett fenomen som inte används i samma kontext som andra beroenden tillexempel alkoholism.Syftet med denna undersökning var att sätta fenomenet sexberoende i samma kontext som andra missbruk för att tydliggöra att detta beroende bör ingå i samma diskurs.För att kunna sätta detta fenomen i kontext med andra beroenden utförde vi narrativa intervjuer med fyra informanter som idag är i sitt tillfrisknande. Informanternas livsberättelser har varit grunden för att förstå fenomenet sexberoende. Goffmans Stigma, Nakkens Jaget och missbrukaren samt Beckers Utanför- Avvikandets sociologi har använts för att förstå hur fenomenet sexberoende liknar andra beroenden och missbruk.Resultatet visar att fenomenet sexberoende liknar andra beroenden och missbruk då det tvångsmässiga beteendet är av liknande karaktär. Genom att använda fenomenet sexberoende i samma diskurs som andra beroenden minskar stigmatiseringen..

The purpose of this paper was to study how the death is described in some books for children and how the books may affect the readers. I chose five books where the leading character was a child who lost a close relative like a parent or a sibling. I asked the book questions like you would do at an interwiew.The main questions were:· What do the children think about the death?· How does the child react when it finds out that a parent or a sibling is dead?· What does the child think about seeing the dead person and how does it react at the funeral?· From what or whom do they find the strength to move on?· What support does the child have from people in the surroundings?· How may the books affect the readers?The results showed that the books give you an image close to the reality. The children had different ways to mourn.

From an Evolutionary psychology point of view focusing on Attachment theory will this essay describe how adopted adults think about their roots. To find an answer to this purpose a several miner questions has been asked: Are their any earlier research according to Evolutionary psychology about internationally adopted? Is it possible to understand the creation of the identity in relation to the Attachment theory? In what way do the adoptees think that their youth has effected their situation of life? And finally, is there any specific time when the adoptees have had even more thoughts about their roots?We have tried to find the answer on these questions through a qualitative study. Questions have been asked to eight internationally adopted adults, in age between 24-33 years.The result from the study makes it even that adopted individuals thoughts about their roots get incensed in some specific periods in life. One period is adolescence, another is parenthood.

Uppsatsen undersöker korrelationen mellan socialt kapital på en aggregerad samhällsnivå och storleken på den ekonomiska ojämlikheten. Borde ekonomisk policy ta hänsyn till de demokratiska effekterna av inkomstfördelning i välfärdssystemet? Teorier om socialt kapital från sociologi, statsvetenskap och nationalekonomi analyseras och aggregeras sedan till ett gemensamt teoretiskt ramverk för socialt kapital. Ramverket används sedan för att analysera hur väl demokratin fungerar. Data från World Values Survey, OECD och United Nations University används för att statistiskt mäta korrelationen mellan de två variablerna socialt kapital och ekonomisk ojämlikhet.

Abstract: Denna uppsats söker upplevelsen av påtvingad behandling. Den är gjord på ett behandlingshem i Mellansverige som bedriver behandling efter § 12 LVU med särskilda befogenheter i vård av unga. Behandlingshemmet lyder under SIS (Statens institutionsstyrelse). Underlaget består av fem intervjuer med elever som blir behandlade för narkotika- och alkoholmissbruk samt lättare eller grövre kriminalitet. Metoden som använts för att analysera intervjuerna är fenomenologiskt inspirerad som innebär att man söker efter essensen i upplevda erfarenheter.Resultatet visar på sex viktiga teman.

The study involves six Bosnian refugees experience of integration into Swedish society.The purpose of this study is, through the use of a qualitative method, to get an understanding of what the integration process in the Swedish society has been like for six Bosnian refugees.. These refugees fled from the war in former Yugoslavia and came to Sweden between the years 1992-1995. The country who was once called Yugoslavia is currently divided into six republics comprising, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia, with its provinces, Vojvodina and Kosovo. The main focus of the study has been in the respondent?s thoughts and experiences of integration into Swedish society.

The purpose of this essay is to identify how the drug user is portrayed in motion pictures. My main questions are: How is the drug use described? How is the male and female drug user depicted? How may the movies contribute to the construction, reproduction and change of gender? The method I use in my research is a qualitative, selective discourse- analysis of a number of movies prominently portraying drug use. A gender perspective is also applied on this paper.The main result of the study is that I have found that the great majority of the analyzed films portray drug use as means for something else. Drug use is often portrayed in the beginning as heavenly but changes to be depicted as problematic.

The purpose of this essay was to look at how the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and the Social Service work with children who have parents in prison and what they can do to ease the contact between the children and their parents. In our study we have used different questions regarding parent role, gender, child perspective, contact possibilities and collaboration. We have interviewed six prison officers and five social workers in Skåne. We have also used previously written reports. Our conclusions are that the parent role is affected by imprisonment and more amongst the women than the men.

Uppsatsens syfte var att undersöka organisationsstrukturen hos Trygga Halmstad Centret och ta reda på i vilken omfattning denna kommit att fungerar utifrån de ursprungliga förväntningarna. Det är en kvalitativ undersökning som pekar på en friktion mellan de ursprungliga förväntningarna och de anställdas faktiska möjligheter att uppfylla dessa. Den nuvarande organisationsstrukturen på Trygga Halmstad Centret försvårar ett effektivt samarbete mellan de anställda och har skapat ett individuellt arbetssätt. Ledarskapsfrågan har berörts ett flertal gånger i de genomförda intervjuerna men man kan sammanfatta informanternas synpunkter med att bristen på en närvarande chef bidrar till oklarheter bland majoriteten av de anställda, bristen på klarhet har bidragit till individuella rollskapanden för att motverka otydligheten och bristen på gemensamt ledarskap. Den upplevda situation på den gemensamma arbetsplatsen påverkas till stor del av vilken moderorganisation man tillhör och vilken chef man svarar till..

With emphasis on women's magazines and men, this essay will revolve around the image of the ideal woman. Our purpose was to examine whether men have a distinct image regarding the appearance and behaviour of the ideal woman. Next step was to establish whether the women's magazines also presented a specific image to their readers.The answers were found through a qualitative study that included ten men, and through an extensive analysis by women's magazines. The result indicated that both the men questioned and the women's magazines presented a clear view of an ideal woman. The views held by the men, were then compared to the images presented by the women's magazines and were found to be very similar.We used Erving Goffmans sociological theory to describe the actual woman and the ideal images of women that the men questioned and the women's magazines presented.

Men's violence against women is an issue that exists all over the world. There are several scientists and organisations that work with this issue in one way or another. In Sweden an organisation called ROKS, and a scientist called Eva Lundgren, has been in the limelight for medias attention several times. The impression has been given that Eva Lundgren is a very controversial scientist and that her research is very different from other research about men's violence against women.The aim with this essay is therefore foremost to look at research from different scientists and compare them to Eva Lundgrens research. I found three so called levels about why men use violence against women.

Syftet med denna undersökning var att ta reda på före detta missbrukande kvinnors livssituation under missbrukets period. Detta är en kvalitativ undersökning som har utförts genom intervjuer med före detta missbrukande kvinnor. I intervjuerna använde vi oss av en frågemall som bland annat berörde ekonomi, våld, relationer och sexuellt utnyttjande. Genom vår ansats i Grundad teori kom vi fram till olika teman att inrikta oss på; våld, sexuellt utnyttjande, barn, dolt/ öppet missbruk och identitetsbild. Vidare i undersökningsprocessen kom vi fram till vår kärnkategori som blev utsatthet.
