The aim of the study was to study how a today journal system is applied in homecare. The aim was also to examine if a portable journal system could make any effectiveness on the nurse's work and secure the quality of care. The study is a part of a project called Grensebroen which connects public health care, economic industry and university to a network beyond the borders. The primary goal of this cooperation was to develop technological means of assistance which could simplify nursing on daily basis. BackgroundWorld Alliance for Patient Safety, launched by the WHO, has created a Surgical Safety Checklist. It was first published in 2008 and has been translated and modified in Sweden by Landstingens Ömsesidiga Försäkringsbolag, LÖF. The use of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist has been shown to reduce the number of complications and deaths related to surgery.AimThe aim of this study is to describe the Theatre Nurse?s participation in in the use of a modified version of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist intraoperatively in two Theatres in a hospital in the centre of Sweden.MethodThis study has a quantitative descriptive approach. A direct observational study was carried out in two Theatres and the participants were asked a few complementary questions after the observations.

The purpose of this literature review was to demonstrate the results of recent studies of the nurses ability to interpret younger childrens (0-6 years of age) experiences of pain in the postoperative stage. There is a lack of knowledge concerning young childrens ability to express themselves verbally and the nurse has to rely upon the parents knowledge about the child. Consequently, the teamwork between the nurse and the parents is of great importance in the care of the younger child. Therefore we intend to illuminate this aspect in this paper. Materialet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys inspirerad av Elo och Kyngäs. Materialet sorterades därefter in i en analysram inspirerad av Kings konceptuella system: det personliga systemet, det interpersonella systemet samt det sociala systemetResultat: Den kvalitativa analysen utmynnade i tre kategorier: Specialistsjuksköterskans fördjupade kompetens leder till inre trygghet (personliga systemet), specialistsjuksköterskans kompetens främjar patientens hälsoprocess (interpersonella systemet) och Specialistsjuksköterskans kompetens efterfrågas inte av organisationen (sociala systemet).Diskussion: Specialistkunskapen beskrevs som internaliserad i den enskilda sjuksköterskan och det beskrevs att specialistkunskapen gynnade patientens hälsoprocess.

Syftet med denna studie var att påvisa vilka känslor som väcktes hos föräldrarna inför sitt barns hjärttransplantation och hur deras upplevelse av informationen från vårdpersonalen uppfattades.
