This essay focuses on how the nations can communicate to keep their members.Material/method: I have done seven interviews with persons that work in three different nations and the head of the Curators convent (the collaboration center between the nations), I have read articles from the largest newspapers and web pages. I have also read the Commission of Inquiry's recommendation according abolishing the law regarding the compulsory nation and student union membership. The result of this work is a plan for the development of an 1128 m2 elderly raised garden. The purpose has been to create an overall plan covering the long-term development of the garden. The work process has covered a description of the garden of today, review of requirements, analysis of the garden sections, design of a new plan as well as starting the construction of the new garden. The plan covers a time period of a couple of years to create the new garden since the construction work is carried out during spare time with small resources available. The planning must contain review of functions such as protection from insight, eating area and compost area. Also the esthetic expression must be planned. Colors, shapes, choice of material and plants together make up the esthetic expression. It is recommended to include anything you wish to create in the garden. In a raised garden one has to overcome the step to remove trees and shrubs and think different.

Bergvik Skog is one of the leading forest companies in Sweden who use airborne laser scanning for forestry information. They utilize laser data retrieved by the Swedish National Land Survey to describe the forest holdings and facilitate planning for thinning and final felling operations. However, the possibility to identify stands with clearing needs by using laser scanning data has not been tested in a large scale. The data used in the current study are field data from The Swedish National Forest Inventory in combination with laser data from the Swedish National Land Survey acquired in 2009. The collected data is used to find one or several laser variables that best describe the relationship of the field measured samples with clearing needs.

My thesis is a combination of theory and practice, where theory is meant to create a context and a background for my interpretation proposal. I wanted to ?access? the ideas that are always in the background of the reasoning which underlies both planning in a larger scale, and the design of a place. I wanted to make a ?work of ideas.? In the process of shaping the proposal, I wanted to be deleted from the site itself.

Denna uppsatts är ett kandidatarbete på programmet för Fysisk Planering på Blekinge Tekniska Högskola och omfattar 15 hp. Uppsatsen genomförs under utbildningens tredje år. Uppsatsen undersöker hur problem och konflikter med konflikter vid hantering av olika sorters trafiksystem på samma plats har skapat en problematisk trafiksituation i Bergåsa. Vilka aktörer som bidragit till att dessa konflikter uppstått undersöks, och hur dessa aktörer även begränsar platsens framtida utveckling. Detta genomförs genom en teknisk och historisk studie av platsen, kopplat till en analys av aktörernas påverkan på processen. Därefter undersöks hur Karlskrona kommun avser hantera platsens problem i framtiden, och hur kommunen planerar att hantera problem på liknande platser i staden. Den problematik som undersöks här liknar förutsättningarna i Bergåsa med olika trafiksystem i konflikt.

I Stockholms ytterstad orsakar tunnelbanans tydligt radiella struktur svaga tvärkopplingar mellan förorterna. Tvärbanan, spårvagnen mellan stadens södra och västra förorter i det halvcentrala bandet, är ett framgångsrikt försök att förbättra tvärförbindelserna i Stockholms kollektivtrafiknät. Under den fortsatta utbyggnaden av tvärbanan kan en samordnad kollektivtrafik- och bebyggelseplanering bidra till att integrera ytterstadens stadsdelar med varandra. Mariehäll-Brommafältet-Ulvsunda i nordöstra Stockholm är ett av 12 stadsutvecklingsområden som enligt Stockholms översiktsplan från 1999 utgör stadens framtida utvecklingsresurs för en blandad och varierad stadsbebyggelse. Idag domineras området av Bromma flygplats, vars buller förhindrar nybyggnad av bostäder i stora delar av området. Tvärbanan, som idag går mellan Sickla och Alvik, planeras inom kort förlängas norrut i två grenar via Ulvsunda industriområde och Bromma flygplats.

The structure and performance of grocery distribution in Sweden has changed profoundly since the second world war. Increasing access and usage of the private car, in combination with an accommodating town planning has enhanced the exploitation of scale economies within distribution firms. There is, however, some ambiguity concerning the overall efficiency of the distribution system when the costs associated with travelling and purchasing performed by households are treated as an integrated part of the total distribution cost function. The purpose of this master thesis is to develop the foundation of a spatial optimisation model, which defines the most efficient distribution system. The underlying idea is that the optimal localisation and size of grocery stores is a function of economies of scale within the firms weighed against distributions costs within the households, such as transportation costs.

Vi befinner oss i en tid då försvarsmakten står inför stora förändringar och mitt examensarbete utgör förslag till en framtida användning av Myttingeområdet i Värmdö kommun. Myttingeområdet är det största området på fast-landet i Värmdö kommun där försvaret innehar mark och är därför särskilt intressant från kommunens sida. Idag är Myttingeområdet ett övningsfält/skjutfält för försvarsmakten och en förutsättning för att det ska kunna ske en civil utveckling är att försvarsmakten avyttrar eller medger samutnyttjande av området. Vid en förändring av försvarets verksamhet står utvecklingen av Myttingeområdet vid ett vägval och i denna rapport presenteras ett förslag till framtida markanvändning där tanken är att fokusera på möjligheter för utvecklingen snarare än restriktioner. Trycket är stort på storstadsregionen Stockholm och detta påverkar även Värmdö kommun. Det är många intressen som skall samsas om en begränsad yta i kommunen och då inflyttningen är stor och befolkningen spås fortsatt öka i framtiden innebär det att konflikterna om en allt mer krympande yta kommer att öka.

Avfall är ett växande problem i världen och med ökat fokus på hållbarhet har återvinning fått en större roll i dagens samhälle. För att hantera återvinningen finns återvinningsstationer där mycket av insamlingen av material sker. Dessvärre får planering av återvinningsstationer inte alltid tillräckligt med uppmärksamhet, vilket kan bero på kunskaps- och/eller intressebrist i frågan. Förhoppningar inför arbetets start var att reda ut begrepp och ansvarsfördelning samt ge en klarare bild över vad en fysisk planerare kan förväntas göra när det handlar om återvinningsstationer och bistå med relevant information. En fallstudie har gjorts av Malmö utifrån de tre huvudinriktningarna på arbetet: planering, placering och utformning. Inom fallstudien har litteraturstudier och kvalitativa intervjuer utförts.

There is no further training in management in teacher education programs, which can create uncertainty among teachers in terms of management. According to the curriculum, the teacher should base it on a democratic approach, but how does it look in real life? The purpose has been to investigate how practicing teachers perceived management and their own leadership style, whether they made conscious choices and if so, whether they then had any purpose in their leadership style. Teachers' views of a good leader and how much influence students have on the teaching, enter into these issues.The survey is based on a qualitative research approach, based on interviews with four active teachers. Although observations were made they did not play any major role in this investigation.

This is the end report of my final exam at Medieteknik. It covers the planning, work process and review of a Flash based web application that I set out to do. The goal was to create a user friendly, interactive e-shop with embedded functionality for playing music, displaying rich media content and researching possible payment solutions, to enable buying music files online. The project involved creating the user interface, the programmatic functionality of a Flash client (an SWF file). Also, setting up an Apache HTTP Server and establishing a working ?bridge? between the Flash client and the web server with Flash Remoting components and AMFPHP.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur kvinnor och män upplevde naturlig familjeplanering (NFP) samt vilken kunskap sjuksköterskan hade om NFP och när hon kunde använda sig av den i sin profession. Artiklar valdes ut från databaserna Elin, Pub Med och Blackwell synergy. De sökord som användes var NFP, Catholic, Satisfaction, Awareness, Odeblad, Billing, Billings, Nurse, Pregnancy, Birthcontrol, Family, Mucus, Family planning, Natural family planning och Ovulation. Sammanlagt valdes 18 artiklar ut varav 14 användes i resultatet. Två artiklar till resultatet söktes manuellt och beställdes.

Holmen Skog is currently using a GPS-program called TraktInfo, originally developed within the company. They are now planning to switch to a new GPSprogram or allowing the contractors to buy other programs available from the logging equipment manufacturers. To be able to offer this flexibility, Holmen Skog needs to obtain information about the features offered by the different manufacturers in their specific programs, and also when the manufacturers are planning to start selling programs adapted to the new standard called StanFord2010. According to the study, the manufacturers are hesitant to StanFord2010 and there has also been a lack of clear signals from the customers and clients about what kind of different new features to include in the programs. The feature most frequently used by forest machine operators today is the option to keep record of the harvester?s path by creating a ?log plot?. This feature was not used to its full potential however, since only one out of eight of the forwarders included in the study had computers that were compatible with the harvester?s computer.

Through this thesis, we want to discuss how the marginalization of people, several precedent political, city planning- and engineering decisions resulted in a catastrophic outcome after hurricane Katrina in New Orleans 2005. We also put forward a case study of the Make It Right Foundation, to demonstrate how the residents of the Lower Ninth Ward are involved in the urban development of their community. We would like to draw attention to the power of citizens and how they can influence the urban development of a community after a trauma. This study also focuses on the mission of The Make It Right Foundation: which is to rebuild the Lower Ninth Ward with firm concepts on sustainable development where all dimensions are accounted: ecological, social, cultural and economic.
