Unlike the manufacturing industry, the construction industry is always in motion. Each new construction project brings new opportunities, and it requires a new plan, new organisation, and new suppliers. All construction projects are very different from each other and in terms of a logistical perspective, this is very weak as it makes it difficult to get a flow in the production and to make flawless routines. The way the external and internal logistics are managed, can effect the final product in the time taken to produce it, the quality of the product and the profit made from it. When internal logistics are handled poorly, it could result in materials not being at the right place at the right time, or information not going through to the right person.

There are numerous questions to be asked when your task is to plan a small community?s future development. Is it possible to suggest something new and modern? What considerations should be taken concerning the existing situation? What is an appropriate size for the new development? Where is it possible to build and what is the most appropriate method to use?In this master´s thesis I have tried to develop and describe a working-process where I execute a complete landscape character analysis for the whole community in question to get the answers to where and how it would be most appropriate to develop a village like Flädie without destroying its current character.Flädie is a typical small village in the countryside of Skåne, Sweden. It is strongly effected by the expansive and urban region it?s located in but is still rural in character.
Idrottsämnet och ämnessamverkan : Idrottslärares attityder och förutsättningar till ämnessamverkan
Our interest about interdisciplinary teaching has grown during our time at Högskolan Dalarna and especially during the subject physical education. It became clear that people learn in different ways. The theoretical education in school benefits the visual and auditory strong learners but the kinesthetic strong learners find it more difficult to absorb the information. We argue that integrating subjects is a good way to mix theory and practice and thus gives more students an opportunity to learn the content of the subject. The intention of this examination paper is to investigate the relationship between the attitudes of the teachers regarding interdisciplinary teaching, the practical restrains, possibilities and the presence of interdisciplinary teaching at three different schools.
Tryggt och vackert? Hur behandlar kommunala belysningsprogram estetik och trygghet?
Syftet med studien har varit att undersöka hur svenska kommunala
belysningsplaner kan behandla trygghet och estetik samt granska i vilken
utsträckning kommunala belysningsprogram finns i Sverige. Arbetet skall visa
hur olika kommuner arbetar med belysningsplanering och hur de i sin tur väljer
att ta upp trygghetsaspekter och estetik. Den teoretiska ramen för arbetet
återfinns i forskningsöversikten vilken beskriver nyttan med ljus och ljusets
betydelse för trygghet, estetik och rumslighet etcetera. Efter forsknings-och
kunskapsöversikten följer en genomgång av förekomsten av belysningsprogram i 21
utvalda regioner för att få en överblick i hur vanligt förekommande det är att
kommuner upprättar planer för belysning. Senare följer en fallstudie av
belysningsprogram från Alingsås kommun, Jönköpings kommun och Lunds kommun och
därefter en analys och diskussion av dessa.
När elever interkulturella kompetens blir en styrka : En kvalitativ studie om nyanlända elevers upplevelse av den sociala interaktionen i en mångkulturell skola
This study investigates how social interaction affects newly arrived pupils? views on their study situation in the Swedish educational system. The aim is to give a contribution to the discussion on the notion of including ?the Other? in educational practice in multicultural schools. Semi-structured group interviews were conducted to explore how the intercultural perspective and the theory of inclusion can be used to explain the dynamics of social interaction.

To thoroughly think with safety and security in mind is an important issue in planning of public city spaces. Spaces intended to be available to all inhabitants of a city should have a welcoming appearance. Unfortu-nately, this is not the situation in many pedestrian walkways, parks and such spaces, possibly due to lack in safety and security.
This master thesis intend to examine questions at this issue ? what makes you feel safe and what causes insecurity in public city spaces. The safety aspect treats the human psychological and sociological ways of perceiving her milieu and other humans in it, and how the physical shape of her surroundings can affect the sense of safety.

Som trafikant får man många gånger sitt första ? och kanske enda ? intryck av
en stad vid förbifartens trafikplatser. Här återfinns ofta brytpunkter både för
körmönster och stadsmönster. Vid trafikplatsen ändras förutsättningarna för
bilisterna och deras upplevelse av trafikmiljön och här delar förbifarten
stadsbygd från landsbygd.
Detta arbete handlar om hur man kan förbättra intrycket av en stads entré genom
fysiska gestaltningsåtgärder. Arbetet syftar till att skapa en metod för att
tydliggöra färden till trafikplatsen och vidare in mot staden och göra den till
en regisserad resa genom rum.
Pendla med cykel - en aktuell planeringsfråga : En kvalitativ studie om Västerås Kommuns trafikplanering
ABSTRACTDuring the last decades, environmental impacts have increased significantly, much due to the great traffic flows within cities. Therefore, to reduce these impacts and encourage a healthy way of living, it has in recent years become vital to generate safer and more sustainable and flexible modes of transportation. In order to do so, authorities and physical planners must work together to find viable solutions to incorporate in the infrastructure and offer alternative transport modes ? such as walking, cycling and public transportation. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the development of the cycling infrastructure in the city of Västerås and whether it is possible to expand bicycle commuting alongside public transportation. The thesis consequently aims to study how different physical planners within Västerås municipality work with traffic related questions.
Miljömålsindikatorer för kommunala planbestämmelser En studie av indikatorsystem för uppföljning av delmål 2 inom miljömålet God bebyggd miljö
The purpose of this study is to propose and formulate quantitative indicators to help measure an aspect of the Environmental Objectives in Swedish legislation: ?A Good Built Environment, Interim Target 2.? The governmental bill 2004/05:150 suggests changes to Interim Target 2: By 2010 built environments of cultural heritage value will be identified and placed under long-term sustainable management. Following the revised formulation regarding sustainable management, indicators should be formulated to measure the fulfilment of sustainable management of built environments of cultural heritage value. An important part of management takes place at the municipal level of planning, where detailed development plans include regulations to protect built environments of substantial cultural heritage value. As a result, this study is focusing upon the regulatory function of the Swedish Planning and Building Act in respect to the built environments of cultural heritage value.
Förklaringsmodell för cykelresor i Trondheim : Fysiska och demografiska faktorers betydelse för det geografiska resmönstret
The work examines geographical variations of bicycle use in Trondheim municipality with the aim to create an understanding of what influences the use of bicycles and explain the geographical travel pattern for cycling. The work focuses on the how physical structures generates different transports effects. Where bicycle travels in Trondheim municipality are undertaken is described by using network analysis in ArcGIS, based on aggregated data from the travel habit survey (RVU) in 2009/2010. Trondheim municipality is divided into smaller geographical units (zoner) whose characteristics are described by 19 variables, categorized into 6 groups; Distance, Land use, Topography, Bicycle Facilities, Road characteristics and Demographic factors.By linear regression analysis in SPSS and ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, an explanatory model is elaborated. The variablesdistance to the regional center, workplace density, percentage separate bike paths and hilly terrain explains 78 percent of where cycle journeys are undertaken.
Tågtrafikledare i praktiken : Informationshantering och systemanvändning vid Gävle driftledningscentral
In Sweden whenever trains or maintenance workers want access to the railway system, their requests of usage and movements are being supervised, granted and handled by train dispatchers. The profession holds a key role in making the complex railway system work in terms of efficiency, safety and delivering on-time arrivals. This master thesis, delegated by the Swedish Transport Administration, has been carried out at the Division of Human Computer Interaction at Uppsala University and at the train traffic control center in Gävle. The aim has been to map what information the train dispatchers use in order to make safety-related decisions concerning their working goals. And further to describe and analyze how the train dispatchers, visavi their tools and systems in the work domain, gather necessary information.The result indicates a complex, diverse and spread out setting of different programs, procedures and tools that make satisfactory fulfilment of efficiency, safety and punctuality in relation to the time table hard.
Vilka mål och behov har olika typer av skogsägare kring sitt skogsägande? :
The NIPF (Non Industrial Private Forest) owners in Sweden have very differentiated goals
and needs with their forest. They have different backgrounds and some of them live at their forest estate while other live in an urban environment, and some are economically dependent on their forest estate while others are not. The heterogeneity among these forest owners creates problems for market actors that want to aim marketing messages to catch their interest.
This is the problem background to the task that was provided to us as an investigative masters thesis for us. Their request was a plan for ensuring a successful marketing towards different segments of the NIPF owners.
We commenced with a literature study based on market information and previously carried
out similar investigations. We summarized the most important market information from the
literature and created some hypotheses regarding goals and needs of the NIPF owners.
KORTSIKTIG PRODUKTIONSPLANERING I MINDRE FJÄRRVÄRMESYSTEM : En studie vid Strängnäs Energi AB
District heating covers around 80 % of the heating demand in apartment buildings and 10 % in single-family homes in Sweden. In the year 2010 the total input of energy to the Swedish district heating grids was about 70 TWh, which corresponds to 11 % of the total energy input to the whole energy system in the country. Through the combined production of heat and power the CHP-plants often reaches an efficiency of 90 % from energy in the fuel to produced heat and power. In order to keep the efficiency high it is important for the owners of the plant to have good knowledge about the plants performance at different operation points. Strängnäs Energi AB initiated this diploma work together with FVB Sverige ab in order to come up with a program for short term planning of the production of heat and power at the company´s CHP-plant.The work consists of three main parts.
Skolprestation, genus och psykisk (o)hälsa: en kvalitativ studie av gymnasieungdomars förhållningssätt
The aim of the study was to explore the psychological well-being of a group of adolescents in relation to how they regarded achieving in school, in a gender perspective. Twenty semi-structured interviews were conducted with students aged 17-19 at a high-achieving school in a big city in Sweden. The interviews were analyzed thematically and the results showed that the adolescents acted differently as well as regarded achieving in school differently depending on gender. The young women were driven by ambition, they were high-achieving and planning for the future. The young men cared less about achieving and thought more about the present.
Förslag till omvandling av Ljungby järnvägskvarter
När den andra sträckan av Karlshamn - Halmstads järnväg
anlades år 1878 fick Ljungby sin första järnvägsförbindelse.
Järnvägen resulterade i ett uppsving för köpingen, som växte från 300 till 3000
invånare på 20 år.
När den sista etappen av Skåne -Smålands järnväg anlades i slutet av 1800-talet
fick Ljungby ytterligare en järnvägsförbindelse. Nu blev Ljungby en
järnvägsknutpunkt, som staden kom att växa kring och varifrån hundratals
resenärer reste varje dag.
Under 1960-talet lades persontrafiken på de båda sträckorna ner och det enda
som återstod var godstrafiken mellan Ljungby och Värnamo. Rälsen på banan
mellan Karlshamn och Halmstad revs snabbt upp, medan delar av rälsen på Skåne -
Smålands järnväg legat kvar långt in på 2000-talet.
Nedläggningen resulterade i att bangården i centrala delar av staden lämnades
öde och oanvänd. Än idag, 14 år sedan det sista godståget gick på banan, är
området nästintill lika öde och oanvänt. Trots att kommunen har tagit fram
visioner och förslag på hur området skulle kunna utvecklas, så har ingenting
gjorts.
Bangården har tidvis betraktats som en skamfläck i samhället, vilken
stadsplanerna försökte förminska så mycket som möjligt.
