My aim is to examine the special form of interaction between users of the shut-in service and the responsible librarians. My purpose is to examine how mediating of literature can be pictured in correlation with shut-in services. How do librarians describe their experiences of the shut-in service? What roles of mediating can be perceived? How can interaction interpreted in the context of the shut-in service?The material was acquired by doing qualitative interviews of five librarians who works with shut-in service. This study is based on the theory of Åse Kristine Tveit.

This thesis examines Swedish composers' modes of work and production within the Swedish film industry. It starts off with a historical overview treating live music in early silent film, the conversion to sound and the Swedish production climate until present time. The analysis consists of contemporary empirical studies; interviews with people writing music for film, TV and commercials. The musician's perspective is in focus but directors and other film workers are heard as well. The situation for female composers in a male-dominated industry is also discussed.

Examensarbetet utgörs av en omfattande analys samt bakgrundsmaterial som redogör för planerings-förutsättningar samt problematik för planområdet. Analyserna och bakgrundsmaterialet mynnar sedan ut i ett planförslag som vägt ihop alla tillgängliga fakta och skapat en fungerande och attraktiv helhet. I huvudsak består planförslaget av följande delar: Arbetet tar upp ett översiktligt förslag till ett nytt resecentrum byggt utifrån den befintliga stationsbyggnaden. Även närområdet kring resecentrumet utvecklas för att skapa en attraktiv helhet som passar in i staden. Längs med Tullkammarkajen utvecklas ett nytt bostadsområde med vattennära bebyggelse.

AbstractThis study deals with the tours carried out in the manufacturing sector, at Alfa Laval in Eskilstuna. A large number of visitors, from a variety of backgrounds, go there to see how the manufacturing of separators works. With visitors I refer to the company?s customers, suppliers, students, in- house trainee courses, managers and senior citizens groups.The study examines how these tours can be standardized using spatial design. The result shows the importance of working systematically with visualizing the work as well as the environment for optimizing the visitor's understanding.

This paper analyses what effect an application of a specific poststructural feminist theory has on the Swedish classification system SAB. The purpose is to study if it is possible to open up the current representation of gender towards a more multiple one. The study is both theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part include a short presentation of both classification theory and feminist theory. The study also presents the critic that poststructual feminists submit.

The Sand Catcher                                                       The thesis project The Sand Catcher investigates the encounter between permanent structures and an ever-changing landscape. The migrating sand dune Råbjerg Mile in northern Denmark is 40 meters high and moves more than 15 meters every year. By introducing a solid structure on the site, the fast movement of the sand dune is emphasised and thereby our view of time and space.Through intuitively building models with varied openings and densities I investigated how architectural elements react with sand. From these experiments a series of spatial features and effects were found, generated from the meeting with the sand.The Sand Catcher is a solid and permanent structure. The sand is the liquid element that generates new spaces, circulations and experiences.

Jakten på den försvunna stadsmässigheten Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka vad fenomenet stadsmässighet innebär och att därmed få en djupare förståelse för detta stadsbyggnadsfenomen och som följd av detta på ett bättre sätt kunna handskas med det i diskussion och praktiskt planeringsarbete. Examensarbetet belyser vad ett stadsmässigt byggande innebär enligt vissa betydelsefulla tadsbyggnadsteoretiker. Finns det skäl att bygga stadsmässigt och vad finns det för faktorer som försvårar möjligheterna att skapa stadsmässiga städer? Vidare presenteras tre svenska stadsbyggnadsprojekt där stadsmässighet har stått i centrum. Arbetet baseras på litteraturstudier samt studiebesök. Examensarbetet börjar med en kortfattad begreppsgenomgång där begreppen stad, stadsmässighet, urban och urbanitet diskuteras.

This report is the result of a project work carried out at Karlstad University in conjunctionwith the local consulting firm Camatec where most of the work has been performed.The work can be classified as a classic engineering work with supportive theories andcalculations which in this context is relevant.The engineering project has focused on developing new standards for a conveyor that is usedin the Värmland paper industry where large rolls of paper are produced. A conveyor can takeits appearance in many different forms but in this thesis it has been an exemplary look and ithas also become modulatable with a central section, a drive end and a turning end.The construction work has been build under CAD programs such as Pro Engineer, drawingshave been created and costings have been analyzed. The purpose of this essay is to examine which factors that influence the design of internal control in municipal context and how well it works. We choose seven municipals, where we interviewed the administrative managers, the chairmen of the committees and two persons of the staff in each activity unit. The interviews were performed by telephone, due to the keeping of the essay?s timeframe.The theory in our essay comprises eight hypotheses. These hypotheses were operationalised into different variables aiming to make statistical tests possible.

Utifrån den informationen dras slutsatser som utgör grunden för både handlande och känslan för platsen. Den fysiska miljöns utformning påverkar i hög grad upplevelsen. Ett problem är att det vid fysisk planering ofta läggs störst vikt vid den visuella upplevelsen och att andra sinnesintryck inte uppmärksammas i samma utsträckning.
