AbstractThis essay deals with young people?s written language. It is often said that the student?s ability to write is worse today compared to earlier generations. The written language is an important condition for knowledge, therefore it is of great importance that all students, after finished secondary- and upper secondary school, have acquired an adequate language which is suitable in the public room.The fact that young people?s language is worse than earlier generations is a constantly recurrent assertion and often debated in school.

In this study a multiple linear regression was carried out in the interest of analysing a number of variables effect on the final prices of apartments in Stockholm?s inner districts. The result may be employed to predict and observe percentage changes on the final price of apartments in Stockholm in the future. Five models were constructed after which they were analysed and compared. The construction of these models were supported by data from the real estate agency Erik Olsson.

This study aims to disclose how an asymmetric planogram structure of the brand with the highest actual variety may come to affect the brand itself and its category as a whole. The authors of the study feel that there is a gap still unfilled amongst previous extensive research examining how differences in either space or price vary between categories, products or brands. An in-store experiment was conducted by collecting quantitative data from daily sales, observations of customers and questionnaires. The results show that an asymmetric structure leads to customers being more attentive towards the brand, and perceives it to be more dominant over its surrounding competitors. Söktjänsten på Gula Sidorna innefattar sökningar på produkter, varor och tjänster och där görs tusentals sökningar varje dag. Enligt Eniro finns en del problem med söktjänsten och syftet med studien är att fastställa vilka dessa problem är och om systemet med språkteknologiska metoder kan förbättra träffarnas relevans, omfattning och rankning.Studiens huvudsakliga frågeställning är om det är möjligt att med språkteknologiska metoder förbättra sökningen på Gula Sidorna med avseende på träffarnas relevans och täckning samt rankning av dessa träffar, och vilka språkteknologiska metoder som i så fall mest höjer systemets kvalitet utifrån användningssynpunkt, inom ramarna för företagets intressen.Genom lingvistisk analys av en månads sökordssökningar på www.gulasidorna.eniro.se identifierades sju olika problemtyper utifrån hur väl träffarna matchade sökfrasens syntax och semantik. Med bakgrund i systemets existerande struktur och den typ av data som finns lagrad togs ett antal lösningsförslag fram utifrån teorier om språkteknologiska metoder i informationssökningssystem. Sju kortsiktiga och fem långsiktiga lösningar presenterades och dess effekter på prestationen vid en eventuell implementering diskuterades. Med nämnda förbättringsförslag som grund gavs förslag på hur rankningssystemet för Gula Sidorna skulle kunna förbättras.Slutsatser som kan dras utifrån resultaten är att de kortsiktiga lösningarna vid implementering bör kunna lösa drygt hälften av de identifierade problemen.

The aim with this thesis is to make a comparison between forcing tulips in a hydroponic system and the forcing off tulips that have been planted in soil. The results are mostly based on interviews with six Dutch and one Swedish tulip forcer and the managing director at the Horticultural Research Centre, Proeftuin Zwaagdijke, in the Netherlands. There are benefits and disadvantages with both methods. Tulip bulbs planted in soil seem to get a brighter colour after forcing, compared with those forced ?in water?.

This thesis studies three kinds of debate formats. Those are DN Debatt, SVT Debatt and Ring P1. The focus lies in the interrelations between these forums and how they interact with theri audience. Since debate is an essential tool for political and democratic practice, it is vital to study the movements and the realtions between these media formats. Some of the questions in this study are: What happens with a debate topic when it moves between the formats? In which way are the formats democratic and what does their communicative forms mean for political practice and citizen participation? The study shoes how the interpretation of a specific term can expand during a debate.

Den här uppsatsen analyserar språkkomplexitet i inrikesartiklar i Svenska Dagbladet och Expressen från åren 1952, 1982 och 2012. Syftet med undersökningen är att studera eventuella mönster och tendenser i vad som kännetecknar språkkomplexitet i artiklarna för respektive tidning och år och hur språkkomplexiteten förändrats över tid. Analysen genomförs med stöd i etablerade teorier om stilistik och lingvistisk komplexitet. Vidare analyseras artiklarnas språkkomplexitet både kvantitativt och kvalitativt med ett särskilt analysverktyg som utvecklats i den här studien för att just undersöka lingvistisk komplexitet. Exempel på variabler som undersöks med koppling till språklig komplexitet är menings- och ordlängd samt variabler nära kopplat till tidningsformatet som fått lite skrivit om sig inom stilistiken, exempelvis antal repliker och längd på stycken.Undersökningens resultat visar att artiklarna i både Svenska dagbladet och Expressen inte, som resultat i tidigare forskning påpekat, gått en rak väg mot mindre komplext språk: artiklarna från 1982 har genomgående ett språk som är mindre komplext än artiklarna från 2012.

This report describes an investigation of the indoor climate in two different workspaces. Since we a big part of our lives are staying indoors in artificial environments, and more particularly in our workplaces, we think it would be interesting to do this investigation. The technical solutions for air treatment systems began with simple natural systems without fans and where the thermal rise of the air applied. In modern time is technical air treating systems used to take care of the fresh air supply. This type of units can supply filtered air with the right temperature to the building. Well-functioning ventilation is essential to bring clean fresh air to the room and effectively remove impurities without sound- or draught problems. The indoor climate is relevant for the output capacity.

Det här är en studie kring ämnet flexibel utformning av offentliga rum, och ett förslag på hur Båstads hamnområde skulle kunna utvecklas till en plats som på ett mer tillfredsställande sätt kan användas året runt. Idag är hamnen en plats som präglas av några månader med intensivt liv och mycket rörelse under sommaren, för att sedan bli en tom och oanvänd plats vintertid. Förslaget har föregåtts av analyser, både under vinter och sommar, av hamnens rumslighet, aktivitet, rörelse och attraktioner, en litteraturstudie kring ämnet flexibel utformning av offentliga rum, samt två studiebesök på mindre orter i Sverige som kämpar med en liknande problematik. Förslaget har också föregåtts av en inventering av området, samtal med tjänstemän på Båstads kommun och näringsidkare i hamnen samt studier av tidigare planprogram och planer för hamnen framtaget av kommunen. Med utgångspunkt i resultaten av analyserna och med inspiration från litteraturstudien och studiebesöken har jag tagit fram ett förslag på hur Båstads hamnområde skulle kunna utvecklas, göras mer flexibelt och därav mer användbart hela året.

Diesel electric propulsion is in many ways a good alternative to conventional shaft propulsion, both economically and environmentally. There are also many other good side effects which need to be considered, i.e. better manoeuvrability, more efficient use of space and less noise on board. However, there are applications where diesel electric propulsion is not profitable. Large ocean going ships? profitability is much depending on fuel costs and the diesel electric alternative cannot compete on long journeys with large low speed engines.This thesis will treat the aspects of choosing between a diesel electric system and a classic mechanical propulsion system.

This thesis describes an optimising compiler for translating from SMV to CLP(B). The optimisation is aimed at reducing the number of required variables in order to decrease the size of the resulting BDDs. Also a partitioning of the transition relation is performed. The compiler uses an internal representation of a FSM that is built up from the SMV description. A number of rewrite steps are performed on the problem description such as encoding to a Boolean domain and performing the optimisations.
