Uppsatsens syfte är att ta reda på vad besöksparkers ledningar har för åsikter om- och vilka argument som ligger bakom valet av fri eller avgiftsbelagd entré. Samt hur personalen och parken påverkas av valet. Denna studie visar att parkernas skäl till att ha fri entré är för några ideologiska, ett annat svar är att parken är skattefinansierad och därför ska alla ha tillgång till parken. Parker med entréavgift anger att skälen är ekonomiska men några av dem poängterar också att den ska vara låg för att så många som möjligt ska kunna besöka parken. För vissa parker är entréavgiftens främsta uppgift är att hålla oönskade besökare borta.

Norrvikens trädgårdar utanför Båstad, skapad av Rudolf Abelin, är en park som ligger många varmt om hjärtat och det även mig. Trädgården har lidit av dålig ekonomi ända sedan den skapades och där av förfallit en hel del. Nu håller man på att utarbeta nya förslag till att kunna bringa inkomster till trädgården. Norrvikens trädgårdar var Rudolf Abelins andra trädgård i livet och han ägnade hela sin själ åt den. Det är en stor trädgård som består av flera olika delar. Trädgården är uppbyggd med en huvudaxel och två sekundära axlar.

Trenden är tydlig, i takt med att våra städer förtätas minskar andelen parkområden och grönytor. Samtidigt ökar människans behov av rekreation. En lösning på denna problematik skulle kunna vara kyrkogården, som med sitt lagstadgade exploateringsskydd och många värden utgör en yta som i allra högsta grad är aktuell för rekreation. Arbetet fokuserar på hur kyrkogårdsförvaltningarna ser på att kyrkogården används i rekreativt syfte. Den behandlar även problem och möjligheter som en sådan användning kan medföra och vilka utvecklingsmöjligheter som ges. En litteraturstudie, intervjuer med tre chefer inom kyrkogårdsförvaltning samt observationer på tre kyrkogårdar ligger till grund för studien. De tre förvaltningarna representerade i studien är positivt inställda till att anläggningarna används för rekreation.

The aim with this report is to investigate what influence the way playgrounds are used throw the case study in Vänersborg, and also to find methods for municipalities to collect information about how playgrounds are used. The methods were observations, interviews with parents and children, a questionary with questions about what playgrounds they used, how often and why they used them and what the children used to do there. There was also a demographic investigation and documentary research. The most popular playground, Skräcklan, gets visitors from all parts of the municipality. It is located in a park with a view over the lake Vänern, there is a parking place and a café and it has furthermore a large area and many play equipments. Many of the families make shorter trips and picnics to this place. In exception of this playground, the families almost always go to the playground in their neighborhood and their part of the town.

India is the country with the highest prevalence of rabies in the world, with about 20?000 human deaths occurring every year. The country also has a heavy burden of free roaming dogs, mainly because of the high amount of edible waste in the streets, which are the main hosts for the disease. Therefore to truly extinguish rabies, the main focus should be on the dogs, both stray dogs and owned. One method is to vaccinate all dogs against rabies.

Idag finns det väldigt många olika färdiga träprodukter som företag och kommuner köper in och placerar ut i den offentliga miljön. Många gånger blir detta inget aktivt val, där man väger för och nackdelar med de olika alternativen. Besluten fattas istället ofta utan att det reflekteras djupare över materialvalet. Detta kan riskera en stagnation av utvecklingen till ett hållbarare samhälle. Kanske behöver man våga ta klivet ut och bryta de gamla vanorna och se om man kan förändra något till det bättre.

This study was made in an attempt to give the forest research centre Mógilsá a producedtetratherm map and a better understanding of how topography and temperature influencethe growth of two tree species. The digital tetratherm map model, covering the northernpart of Iceland, was developed to investigate the correlation between tetratherm and thegrowth of Picea sitchensis and Larix (sukaczewii + sibirica). The study confirms theusefulness of digital terrain models in providing data for a lot of different factors and forthe tetratherm model. Hopefully will this tetratherm map be used in future studies.Secondly, investigations were made correlating the growth of the two species againsttopographic factors representing height above sea level, distance to the sea, slope andtopex. Thirdly, investigations were made comparing the aspect and the ground shape tothe growth.The growth rate of Larix had strong significant correlations to the tetratherm and thedistance to the sea- factors.

The understanding of the role of nature for rehabilitation of both physical and psychological afflictions has greatly increased in the last few years. There?s a lot of science that describes the healing effects of nature. The rehabilitation garden in Alnarp has contributed with very positive results from the treatments of patients with burnout syndrome. In the first stages of rehabilitation, the need for calm is very important and a demand-less and stress-free environment is of essence.

This study investigates and describes the phenomenon of ?technical tourism?, in the case ofwind power plants in Sweden. The main purpose of the study is a greater understanding ofa field which to date has remained largely uncharted.Technical tourism is a type of visits to a production site, where the technical aspect ofthe production is the main focal point for the visitor. The definition of technical tourism isbased on concepts within ?Industrial tourism?.

Idrottsanläggningen Enavallen i centrala Enköping ska flyttas och ytan ska bebyggas med bostäder. Det geografiska läget och det faktum att området delvis gränsar till Enköpingsån, vars roll i staden Enköpings kommun har som ambition att utveckla, gör Enavallen till ett intressant område att studera. Området ligger dessutom nära befintliga villaområden, en prisbelönt park samt strax intill den centrala rutnätsstad som centrum utgör. Området studerades med analysverktyget Space Syntax för att ge en tydligare bild över de befintliga gångstråk som finns i staden. Analyserna visade att Enavallens potential begränsades av det faktum att ån spärrar av hela norra delen av området.

Utgångspunkten för detta arbete är ett område i det trafikseparerade grönområdet Storkärnan som ligger mitt i samhället Löddeköpinge, Skåne län. Platsen känns tom och variationslös och består till stora delar av öppna gräsytor. Runtomkring finns villabebyggelse som till övervägande del uppförts under miljonprogrammet. Alldeles i närheten finns en mycket stor kulle och ett nybyggt seniorboende. Tre stora men lågt och mjukt utformade kullar har även anlagts under senare år. Den stora kullen används som pulkabacke vintertid och har en brant och konvex form åt den aktuella platsen.

AbstractAccording to several researchers finance is scarce, scarcer for small businesses than for big enterprises. Small and medium-sized enterprises, SMEs, that want to start exporting and sales or manufacturing abroad need capital to get ready. Which capital structure and financial costs do they have, and which forms of finance do they actually use for that purpose. New american research by Mansi, Reeb (2002) has suggested, that there is a positive connection between leverage and a negative one between financial costs and internationalization, and that a non-linear model better describes this connection.This study has gathered data in two ways: Through a questionnaire from 37 SMEs and balance sheet figures from totally 166 manufacturing SMEs. In order to examine, whether the company was active on the international market, 200 SMEs in south Sweden were asked, if they exported to, produced or sold on any other market than their home market.

Road safety is the result of measures to reduce therisk of accident and injury. (Nationalencyklopedin,2008). In principle, road safety means to arrive saveand sound.Safe traffic in cities is mainly achieved throughappropriate speed. In Sweden, more than half ofall rides happen with a speed above the legal speedlimit (Holmberg, Hydén m.fl, 1996). To reducespeed in order to increase safety requires measureswhich influence a driver?s motives for his orher choice of speed even if these are not rational(Boverket, 2002).

Inom arkitektbranchen är tävlingar ett vanligt arbetssätt men samtidigt ett unikt förfarande för arkitekter som akademisk yrkesgrupp. Vi hade inga tidigare erfarenheter av arkitekttävlingar och såg examenssarbetet som ett bra tillfälle att bygga erfarenheter inför yrkeslivet. Vårt gemensamma examensarbete är en undersökning av tävlingsformatet som arbetssätt och genomförs genom att delta i den allmäna idétävlingen OpenGap InNatur_2. Därefter kommer vi att utvärdera och reflektera över vårt deltagande och resultatet i tävlingen. Vårt mål är att kunna erbjuda landskapsarkitekter och studenter värdefull inblick i vad denna typ av tävlingar innebär och den specifika problematik som vårt val av tävling förde med sig. InNatur_2:s tävlingsuppgift bestod av att arbeta fram ett idéförslag på ett besökscentrum för ett valfritt skyddat naturområde.

Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis) is a tree species that have its natural distribution along the West Coast of North America, from Alaska in the north to northern California in the south. Sitka spruce is a typical coastal tree species that can reach heights up to 85 meters and occurs in single pure as well as in mixed stands. The main purposes of this study were to describe the Sitka spruce growing characteristics and the volume production in comparison to spruce (Picea abies). The possibility to predict future volume production by using prognosis tools designed to be used on spruce were also studied. The material that has been used in this study are permanent sitka trials established by the Faculty of Forestry fixed Sitka trials and also material gathered in this study. A literature study was also carried out in order to determine the Sitka spruce growing characteristics. Sitka spruce has a high adaptation and a high volume production on a broad scale of soil types. The tree species is a pioneer species that has a fast early growth and in combination with sharp needles it is less susceptible to animal browsing than spruce. The factor that is the single most limiting factor for where the Sitka spruce can be planted is frost. This factor can be limited by using plant material with a well-suited provenance. According to the literature, the Sitka spruce has an average total volume production that is between 20-40% higher than spruce.
