Övertoner i elnät vid Skellefteå lasarett : Harmonics in power grids at Skellefteå Hospital
The goal of this paper is to find out how Solar cells can improve energy efficiency on-board M/S Sydfart. The paper is based on a number of energy measurements on board the M/S Sydfart. The Solar surface is calculated by measuring the available space for installing Solar panels. Global radiation data is taken from STRÅNG's database, the data is then used to calculate the theoretical power produced by the Solar cells. Energy efficiency is analysed in two ways.

A home for elderly is planed to be built at Zakrisdal, Karlstad, Sweden. The heat source for the building was at the time not determined. In order by the local government of Karlstad this report is meant to examine if the need of heat could be provided only by Solar heat combined with a seasonal heat storage. The problem to solve is, if the need of heat from the home for elderly is provided from only Solar heat, whitch dimensions of the Solar collectors and the storage is needed?.
Solmodul jord- och bergvärmepump
An increasing number of heat pump producers have developed heat pumps that can be connected to Solar panels. In this thesis we have examined the possibilities of connecting Solar panels to existing ground source- and geothermal heat pumps that has not been adapted to Solar panels. During the work process, a prototype plant has been built to compare our theory with the practical results and with our designed sizing tool. The work has rendered in knowledge that will be used to build a sun module that can be easily connect to the existing heat pump system. The existing heat pump, our test plant, has been supplemented by an advanced storage tank used to allow different operating modes.

Solcellsdrivning av distribuerade inbyggda system
The high level of energy consumption that the industrialised countries have reached and thepollution that this brings has long been a cause for analysis and debate, development and usageof so called renewable energy sources is therefore more important than ever. The energy in theelectromagnetic radiation from the sun is an interesting alternative. One way of harvesting thisenergy is by using Solar cells, devices that generate DC current when exposed to electromagneticradiation. The goal of this master?s thesis was to design a Solar powered power supply to Syntronic AB?sMidrange platform. The envisioned application is a stand-alone distributed embedded system, for example a node-based temperature monitoring system.
Solel och solvärme ur LCC-perspektiv för ett passiv-flerbostadshus
This master?s degree project concerns the combination of a multi dwelling passive house with Solar energy for the generation of electricity and domestic hot water (DHW). Different alternatives with either Solar thermal systems or photovoltaic (PV) systems are compared with two reference alternatives producing DHW from electricity or district heating. The economical comparison uses a life cycle cost (LCC) perspective based on the present value of expenditures for investment, energy and annual operating and maintenance. The energy yields from the Solar energy systems were calculated by hand and with simulation software. Calculation and dimensioning of PV systems were carried out with a software called PVSYST.
Solel till Akademiska sjukhuset : möjlig genererad effekt och solcellers estetiska konsekvenser
Today many buildings and it´s nearby surroundings are designed to achieve some kind of environmental goal. The issue concerning energy consumption is currently at focus and it is relevant that we start increase the share of renewable energy. Solar energy is an infinite resource and should therefore be considered when selecting an energy supplier. Uppsala University hospital is facing major restructuring when parts of the existing buildings will be refurbished and a large new building will be constructed. White Architects have developed a study concerning the new building and for some of the existing buildings on the hospital campus. Uppsala County requires tough energy measures and wants the new building to be classified as an eco-building in Whites following work. The classifications will involve high energy source requirements. This work has been conducted to see if Solar power can be envisaged as a supplementary energy source for the University hospital and also to investigate the aesthetic impact of Solar cells on the new building.
Sveriges potential för elproduktion från takmonterade solceller : Teoretisk, teknisk och ekonomisk analys
The Swedish potential of electricity production from roof mounted Solar panels has been determined in three steps: accessing the existing roof top areas, simulating the amount of electricity Solar panels can produce on these areas and finally analyzing how large the necessary economical change is to make the Solar cells profitable. The total existing amount of roof top areas are 319 square kilometers and the area distribution follows the distribution of people. This leads to an installed power of 47,9 GW which are expected to produce 49,0 TWh electricity per year. If the quality of the electricity is prioritized the highest the power is reduced to 3,7 GW, generating 3,8 TWh yearly, but if the hosting capacity is calculated from Sweden?s total electricity need, the capacity is 42 TWh per year.Today, Solar panels are not profitable in Sweden for houses, even though there is a subsidy of 35 % of the investment costs, discounted in 25 years. The profitability is calculated with a cost of capital of 5 %, a price on electricity of 1 SEK/kWh and an investment cost of 20 SEK/Wp.
Solenergi En del i ett långsiktigt, hållbart byggande
The sun is essential to life on earth and no matter where you are, there is a constant need ofenergy. Nearly 800 000 years ago man learned for the first time to use fire in a controlled way.Since then, fire has given us the opportunity to inhabit places despite a cold climate. In Swedenthe resident sector accounts for a major part of the total consumption of energy. In a time whenenvironmental issues and greenhouse effects are increasing, we also see a future of rising energyprices. With this perspective, we have in this bachelor thesis in the Building Environment at theRoyal Institute of Technology, KTH, in Stockholm decided to focus on the renewable energysource, Solar energy. The energy from Solar radiation is a free resource and does not have any negative effects uponthe environment.
Undersökning av solcellspotentialen för golfverksamheter i Sverige
Photovoltaic Systems in Sweden has longbeen heavily dependent on subsidies and grants to bring in a profit for the investor. Production of excess electricity is a major reason for this as the compensation for excess electricity today is low. However, there are businesses that have an electricityneed that are particularly suitable for Solar electricity. These businesses have an electricity demand when the sun shines the brightest and if the Photovoltaic System is properly scaled, the excess electricity can be minimized. A golf club is that kind of a business and this thesis aims to examinate the Solar power potential for golf businesses in Sweden.Nine golf clubs was selected from different locations in Sweden.
Upplevda barriärer för clean technology-företag - Fallstudier om kommersialisering av produkter på en internationell marknad för solenergi
Overall aim of this master?s thesis is to describe and identify perceived barriers in Swedish businesses within Solar energy field and analyze, based on four theoretical viewpoints, how these barriers can be handled. In other words how can the barriers be overcome or eliminated to better succeed in the commercialization process? The method applied is qualitative in which data has been collected through phone interviews originated from seven Cleantech businesses which operate within Solar energy. Furthermore this thesis has a descriptive- and an explorative purpose.
Energieffektivisering av ventilationssystemet i konsthallen Sandgrund Lars Lerin
Uppsala County has ambitious environmental aims for the planned residential area inÖstra Sala backe. In this thesis different energy sources have been evaluated todetermine which system that would be most favorable given currently availableinformation about the project. Planned energy usage has been divided into tap waterheating, space heating and power. Three base case scenarios were made with districtheating, small scale bio fuel and heat pump. Solar power and Solar heating were thensimulated and the production from the two could individually be deducted from theenergy need in the base cases, constituting 9 different scenarios.
