AimThe aim of this study was to survey the physical fitness in boys with type 1 diabetes (IDDM). The results were compared to a control group with healthy boys that have preformed the same tests in other studies. Our questions were:1. How does BMI relate between IDDM-children and healthy peers?2.

The equine hoof is often manipulated in purpose to achieve a better stride or to reduce the weight on damaged tissue. The living tissue in the hoof can?t store energy as glycogen and is therefore depending on a continuous supply of glucose for its energy production. The purpose of the study was to determine if wedging (i.e. elevating) the heel could influence the hooves glucose and lactate consumption/production. Five standardbred horses were trained to trot on a treadmill without getting physical or mentally tired.

PR appears to be an indistinct division and a complicated resource for companies to value. The current circumstances are negative to the credibility and reliability of PR. This study emphasizes how an application of return on investment contributes to a more strategic use of PR and increases the status and credibility for the division.We experience that measuring the economic value of PR is of great importance and of current interest with few prior studies made. The purpose of this study is to find out how a PR-agency and one of its clients relates to and works with evaluation of PR-activities and to which extent the economic contribution of the activity is measured.The foundation which the theoretical reference grounds on is theories of Delusions of PR and the use of benefit-cost analyzes, Stages and Levels for Evaluating Public Relations Programs, Marketing Return on Investment and PR Return on Investment. The theoretical reference serves as a base during the analyze of the study.The conclusion, based on the empirical body of information, is that an application of return on investment could contribute with a higher status and credibility for the PR-division.

Studien undersöker också om flickorna uppfattar att föräldrarnas omvårdnad och omhändertagande påverkar deras upplevelse av sin sexualitet och kroppsuppfattning. We were accepted to the field study Dignity and therefore chose to write our thesis in connection with it. Our subject is the oasis of Siwa in Egypt. The society has long been isolated, and therefore, the city has been able to preserve their handicraft methods and values. We chose to study the Ecological and Handicraft Development Center, which is a newly opened center for craft production. We wanted to see how the centre could use storytelling as a marketing strategy.

Syftet med detta projekt är att söka samband mellan psykisk besvär och BMI, Body Mass Index hos ungdomar. Till underlag har legat en hälsoenkät som varje elev på två gymnasieskolor besvarat vid skolstart samt information om deras vikt och längd. Sammanlagt har 846 elever fullständig information. Om eleven i hälsoenkäten uppgett att de har ett eller flera av symptomen av psykiska besvär, här definierat som återkommande huvudvärk, återkommande magbesvär, återkommande oro eller ängslan, återkommande sömnsvårigheter, nedstämdhet, mindervärdeskänslor, ätstörningar, brist på energi eller svaghetskänslor, koncentrationssvårigheter eller hopplöshetskänslor, har de klassificerats som elever med psykiska besvär.Resultatet visar att psykiska besvär klassificerats hos 73 % av eleverna. Det största antalet elever med psykisk besvär ligger inom gränsvärdena för normalvikt, cirka två tredjedelar.

Obesitas är idag ett stort hot mot folkhälsan och förekommer i alla åldersgrupper. Som en följd av detta skrivs fler kvinnor med obesitas in på Mödrahälsovården än tidigare. Detta resulterar i att barnmorskan allt oftare vårdar gravida kvinnor med obesitas. De medicinska riskerna som föreligger för en kvinna med obesitas är identifierade, men kring barnmorskans upplevelser av detta bemötande finns endast begränsade studier. Syftet med denna studie var därför att undersöka barnmorskans upplevelser av att möta den gravida kvinnan med obesitas, det vill säga ett Body Mass Index >30.

SAMMANFATTNINGBakgrund: Bröstcancer är den vanligaste formen av cancer som drabbar kvinnor. Årligen i Sverige får ca 6500 kvinnor diagnosen och man räknar med att var tionde kvinna kommer att utveckla bröstcancer under sin livstid. Det finns ett samband mellan den västerländska livsstilen och bröstcancer.Syfte: Studiens syfte var att beskriva kvinnors upplevelser efter att ha genomgått en mastektomi på grund av bröstcancer.Metod: Metoden som användes var litteraturstudie. Sökningarna gjordes i databaserna Cinahl, Medline och PsycInfo. Sökorden som användes var breast cancer, breast neoplasm, experienc*, percept*, mastectom*, nurs* och body image.Resultat: Efter en mastektomi handlade kvinnornas upplevelser om en förändrad kroppsbild, förlust av kvinnlighet, sexuella problem samt sociala svårigheter.
