The interest in providing a post 9/11 image of Islam to contrast the media?s frequent focus on its practitioners? alleged tendencies toward hostility and violence has in Sweden manifested itself (among other things) in an increased range of courses on Islam given by denominational Muslim organizations. In this paper I examine the construction of Islam by two Muslim organizations that offer education in Islam to non-Muslims in the context of the management?s stated goals of the education. My aim is to illustrate how discourses within these organizations are a result of the combination of local and global conditions..

Background: The oral health is a problem for many people with psychical disabilities. The reason for that is among other things that the psychical disabilities could do it hard to handle fundamental routines in the everyday life. Aim: The aim of the literature review was to describe how the nursing staff experienced their situation about their work with oral health in persons with psychical disabilities. Method: The study has been done as an overview and the data has been analysed with content analysis. Result: Two head categories were identified; barrier that influence the ability to perform the work with oral health and barrier that influence the performance of the work with oral health.

The object of this master thesis is to study the reading practices offive women as they themselves remember them from theirchildhood and youth in the middle of the 20th century. The study inparticular targets the respondents? reading in relation to the normsfor girls? and young women?s reading at the time. The thesis takesas its starting point the presentation of the respondents´ readingmemories, based on motifs, preferences and experiences. Bakgrund/Problem: I samband med generationsskiftet på arbetsmarknaden uppstår frågan hur arbetsgivarna ur ett rent strategiskt perspektiv kan ta ställning till Generation Y (födda under andra halvan av sjuttiotalet fram till ca år 2000) i arbetslivet. Generation Y verkar nämligen ha en förändrad syn jämfört med äldre generationer när det gäller hur man ser på arbetets roll i livet. Företagen måste börja uppmärksamma dessa förändrade värderingar för att genom sitt Employer Brand kunna locka till sig den yngre generationen på bästa sätt.Syfte: I denna uppsats presenterar jag sociologiska teorier och empiriska fakta om generationer, för att försöka se vilken betydelse generationstillhörigheten kan ha för organisationers Employer Branding. På detta sätt vill jag utveckla och föra fram ett tankesätt som grundar sig i en genera-tionssociologisk analys av fenomenet.Material: Mitt material kommer huvudsakligen från forskningsstudier, forskningsartiklar, littera-tur, medier och från teorier av sociologerna Hans Zetterberg, Ronald Inglehart och Karl Mann-heim.Slutsats: Generationstillhörigheten verkar ha en stor betydelse för företagens Employer Branding. The aim of this two years master thesis in Library and information science is to study the foundation Centrum för lättläst and its work regarding information use with focus on information structures and information needs. The aim is also to examine how Centrum för lättläst cooperate with Swedish libraries to promote the work concerning people with reading disabilities. This master thesis applies a domain analytic theory and method inspired by Birger Hjørland. The domain analysis is confined to examine ontology, epistemology, sociology, empirical user studies, document and genre studies and studies of structures and institutions in scientific communication. The main source material consists of information from the homepage of Centrum för lättläst.

Library and information science students often ask themselves if their education will be sufficient and adapted to the work tasks they will meet with as future librarians. It is the aim of this Master thesis to investigate LIS-graduates' experiences of the transfer from academic studies into professional life. The thesis thus treats four questions: I: What problems, if any, does the LIS-graduate experience when first employed? 2: Does the recently employed librarian feel that the academically obtained knowledge is applicable in professional life? And, if so, how does it apply? 3: Does the new employee find that there are areas in which his/her academic education has been insufficient? 4: What is the general attitude towards LIS-graduates' education among colleagues and is the library staff prepared to provide the necessary instructions? The investigation is performed through interviews with eight LIS-graduates, all of whom have recently started working as public librarians. The analysis is based on the concepts of competence, qualifications, work skills, knowledge and in the processes of formal and practical learning.

The purpose of this essay was to analyze the management and steering of the social welfare service. The objective was specifically to examine how the leaders approach their position as managers of the social welfare service, and also how they approach their way of steering. The social welfare service acts under political decisions, but the management interpret and transform these decisions into actions. The managers of the social welfare service are therefore important from a democratic perspective. The study was based on five qualitative interviews with two managers of the unity, two departmental managers and the head manager of the social welfare service.

The intention with this study is to investigate how schools are affected by state and municipal documents when they organize the education for children with special needs. The study is based on following questions.How do decisions on state and municipal level of politics affect the decisions that the principals make concerning organization, and do the school leaders think that the decisions are made on the right level of liability?What is the relationship between economic decisions and pedagogical decisions?What decides whether the schools have children with special needs integrated in their ordinary classes, or if they receive segregated remedial courses, and what are the views on an equivalent education?The study is conducted through interviews with principals of three schools, one politician on municipal level and one special education teacher. The interviews are linked to an historic background as well as current studies and discourses. The study shows that there are contradictions between state, municipality and school goals.

According to Olga Dysthe a varied education predominated by a dialogical nature is the best way of teaching.PurposeMy main purpose in this essay has been to investigate three different ways of education models and decide, on the basis of Dysthes? model, whether they can be classified as a monological or a dialogical model.I have also investigated if the thesis of Dysthes, ?The teachers view of knowledge determines the choice of teaching method?, is anchored in the reality.Furthermore, I have surveyed how the teachers educate concerning democracy. For example, on the basis of certain rules, are all sudents able to make the selves heard in a classroom that is characterized as dialogical? In such a classroom the teacher works whith activities to involve everyone and according to Dysthe, democracy is an attitude rather than a political system. Democracy is necessary in a classroom that is classified as dialogical.ResultThe essay is exclusively qualitative and builds upon interviews with three teachers on different upper secondary social schools witin the Gothenburg area.My results indicate that the teathers way of educating totaly differs from each others and that the thesis of Dysthe can be applied on only two out of three cases.

The thoughts of a common school for all children have been around since the 1800?s but was something that was introduced in Sweden first in 1962. When the curriculum for primary school came in 1980 there was a new concept, a school for all. With a school for all it was aimed that all children should have the right to participation and a common education no matter what needs they could have.During my education I have come across the concept a school for all and that is something that interested me. Mot bakgrund av att det finns forskning som visar på samband mellan arbetstillfredsställelse, hälsa och effektivitet, blir det angeläget för organisationer att beakta hur chefer arbetar kring psykosociala faktorer i medarbetares arbetsmiljö, samt vilka konsekvenser olika typer av ledarskap får för medarbetares psykosociala arbetsmiljö. Min avsikt är därför att undersöka hur medarbetare upplever sin psykosociala arbetsmiljö samt hur de uppfattar att deras närmaste chef agerar för att den psykosociala arbetsmiljön ska bli tillfredsställande. För att få en större förståelse betraktas problemet även ur chefernas perspektiv, d.v.s. hur de verkar för att få till stånd en god psykosocial arbetsmiljö för sin personal. Syftet med studien är således att undersöka vilken påverkan ledarskapet har för medarbetares psykosociala arbetsmiljö.Den empiriska undersökningen bygger på kvalitativa halvstrukturerade intervjuer, som genomfördes på ett stort tillverkande skånskt företag, med sju medarbetare samt tre av deras chefer från tre olika avdelningar.I analysen framkom det att medarbetarnas upplevelser av sin psykosociala arbetsmiljö varierade på de tre avdelningarna, bl.a.

What affects Hiv in South Africa's different provinces? This thesis examines if education, unemployment rate, GDP per capita, and the literacy rate has any relationship with the Hiv prevalence. This is analyzed using theory and data in the form of a simple microeconomic model and an econometric regression analysis based on cross sectional data of the provinces of South Africa. The regression analysis shows that unemployment rate and education have significant effects of the Hiv prevalence in South Africa. The microeconomic model in the thesis indicates that when education is higher, individuals are more aware that the probability of being infected by Hiv is higher when the Hiv prevalence is high.
