This Masters thesis concerns a series of ten police procedural novels, Roman om ett brott, Novel of a crime, by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö. These books are among the most translated Swedish novels and have been popular among audiences and critics all over the world. The books were produced 1965 1975, a period during which a left wing movement swept over the Western world. Besides from being detective stories Novel of a crime is an analysis of contemporary society, and this thesis will focus on the social and political ideas and the criticism expressed in the books. Theories used in this study are the Sociology of Literature and the Analysis of Ideas.

The acoustics in a control room is a complicated phenomenon. Early reflections, reverberation time and area in the room are some of the problems. This report is about the reflection on the mixing console in a control room. The control room being built, these reflections are difficult to take into consideration since the mixing console is one of the very last items you place in the room. This report will explain three main measurements that were done in order to get the answer to the following question: Does the mixing console interfere the frequency curve at listening position? Three measurements were done and the difference between the measurements was that the microphone and the loudspeakers were placed in different places in the control room.

The purpose of this study was to explore if and how the Swedish Supreme Court are using the concept ?the child?s best interest?. This concept is used a lot in Swedish legislation, but it needs interpretation every time it´s used and is often perceived as unclear. This makes it interesting to see how this affects the individual child´s legal rights. Furthermore I want to see if the Supreme Court listen to the child´s own opinion and if not, are there any justifications to why not.

Den här magisteruppsatsen behandlar två perspektiv på ledarskap som jag kallar för statiskt och kulturellt. Det statiska perspektivet handlar om att betrakta ledarskapskompetenser som oföränderliga och därför samma i alla situationer. I kontrast till detta står det kulturella perspektivet som handlar om att betrakta ledarskapskompetenser som processer. Syftet i den här uppsatsen är att påvisa att dessa två ledarskapsperspektiv förekommer och att i en empirisk kontext pröva de här perspektiven för att se om och hur de får stöd av deltagarna i studien. Genom den hermeneutiska metoden har jag intervjuat fem deltagare som är svenska ledare med många års erfarenhet av ledarskap. De respresenterar olika branscher och företag.

This is a study of seven men that have suffered from a cruel punishment. The punishment involved getting their ear/ears cut off, prison with more torture and their families being deported from their homes to another town.My sample involved seven Iraqi men who suffered from this punishment during Saddams regime, they got this punishment because they refused to fight against Iran and Kuwait. I went to Iraq and met with the men in person and did interviews with them to understand the effect of the punishment on their personalities, and how the punishment have influenced their lives and interaction with other people in the society and around them.The study focuses on their suffering and how they have been able to live with this stigma. The method the study has used is the kvalitative method that involved interviewing them in their country Iraq and analyse their answers and then come to the results. My study was between 26 of March 2004 to 26 of April 2004.My study is based on the theory of social interaction and especially the symbolic interaction theories of G.H.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur unga människor ser på arbete och arbetslöshet. För äldre generationer är arbetet förutom en källa till försörjning även en stor del av individens identitet, och att sakna arbete innebär ett socialt utanförskap. Har arbete samma betydelse för dagens ungdomar, eller har den höga ungdomsarbetslösheten medfört en normförskjutning så att en arbetslös inte uppfattas som avvikande? För att få svar på frågan intervjuade vi nio ungdomar, såväl arbetslösa som arbetande och stu-derande, om hur de ser på saken. Vi utgick från ett induktivt perspektiv inspirerat av grundad teori, där vi eftersträvade en öppenhet inför empiriska data som framkom i våra intervjuer.

Syftet med denna studie är att fördjupa vår förståelse för hur 12 unga människor med funktionshinder upplever sin levnadssituation. Detta vill vi uppnå genom att använda oss av kvalitativa intervjuer som datainsamlingsmetod med en hermeneutisk ansats. Vårt urval består av tolv informanter, fem kvinnor och sju män, som är mellan 20 och 30 år gamla. De typer av funktionshinder vi har valt att avgränsa oss till är olika typer av ryggmärgsskador som innebär att personerna är rullstolsbundna, olika grader av synskador samt en person som är amputerad. Studiens teoretiska perspektiv är Madis Kajandis definition och modell av livskvalitet samt mångfald.

Studien syftar till att identifiera de kulturella skillnader, hinder och motsättningar som kan uppstå i ett äktenskap mellan en muslimsk man och svensk kvinna. Männen utgör studiens kärna eftersom de härstammat från ett annat land och har en muslimsk bakgrund. För övrigt avser studien även att belysa på vilket sätt man lyckas bemästra dessa motsättningar.En kvalitativ metod har använts där fyra muslimska män från Mellanöstern har intervjuats. Dessa analyser har genomförts för att belysa problematiken kring blandäktenskapen, men även för att erhålla en djupare förståelse för de etniska skillnaderna mellan partnerna. Resultat visar på att ett blandäktenskap inte bara omfattas av kulturella skillnader mellan partnerna utan även leder till ett enormt motstånd från omgivningen och samhället.

My objective for this project was to create a short but thrilling 2D-animation intended as promotion for an online comic book. The purpose of the project was to learn more about animation and graphics, to further my artistic skills and to learn how to work in Adobe After Effects. I also wanted to learn more about scheduling, project methods and how to handle stress. During the ten weeks of the project I have created the story, the storyboard, the character design, the backgrounds and the animation. The voice over was recorded with the help of a fellow student who also made the music and the sound effects.

The aim of this inquiry was to investigate the most appropriate measures to reduce noise impacts from road traffic on the Nydala recreational area in Umeå municipality due to the planned re-routing of the E4 motorway to an existing road along this area. The sound environment is an important part in the experience when we are visiting recreational areas. Noise is not only disturbing; the liberty from unwanted sounds also allows us to perceive natural sounds that are a benefit for the cultural experience. Therefore it is important to take actions to protect this well used area from traffic noise. The reasonable options to avoid noise impact in this case are to lower the speed limit, using a noise reducing coating or use noise protection screens and walls.

Den vanligaste formen av korruption är enligt Brottsförebyggande rådet den form av korruption som benämns sofistikerad, eller indirekt, korruption. Den sofistikerade korruptionen återfinns oftast högt upp i organisationer, samt i mötena mellan representanter från olika organisationer. Syftet med denna uppsats är att se hur teorier om organisationen av det offentliga livet och socialt kapital kan användas för att förklara förekomsten av sofistikerad korruption i Sverige. Tre empiriska fall av svensk korruption, Motala, Systembolaget och Skandia, används för att belysa teoriernas förmåga att förklara detta fenomen. Uppsatsen finner att såväl organisatoriska faktorer, till exempel sammanflätningen av statliga och privata principer, som förtroende inom grupper och från utomstående har viss betydelse för att korruption uppstår och för dess omfattning.

In the project, my ambition was to make a stage design for theater withteenagers as target group. I have worked with the musical theater groupTheater ACTA in Gothenburg and independently from scripts, interpretedand shaped an outline for the basis of the set design of the play?s differentelements. The play, If this was a feel-good movie, is written by Elin Frostand Anna Lundholm, two members of Theater ACTA. The story is aboutthree people in their twenties with different relationships to each other andone week that would change their lives.

Inledning : Postmodernismen har existerat i cirka 30 år och varit på den sociologiska agendan i drygt 20 år. Den har fått utstå omfattande kritik, men har också lockat många. Ofta framstår den postmoderna teorin som irrationalistisk och enbart kritisk, men om man utför en närmare granskning finner man en systematisk teori med positiva ansatser. Denna sida lyfts dock sällan fram, men har under de senaste 10 åren fått allt större fotfäste inom samhällsvetenskaperna, ibland under beteckningen postmodern teori, men minst lika ofta har den kallats vid andra namn. Att finna rötterna till den postmoderna teorin och se hur denna systematiska teori växer fram är därför viktigt för att förstå den samtida utvecklingen inom sociologisk teori.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att försöka frilägga de gemensamma nämnarna i den postmoderna teorin och på så vis kunna betrakta den som en rörelse med enhetlig grund och positiva förtecken.

Babies born prematurely are deprived of normal sensorimotor stimulation when placed in an artificial environment, the incubator. The aim of this project was to design a series of products that could promote the baby?s emotional and neurological development, and to facilitate parental bonding. The products designed in this project has a theoretical basis on the research available today on cognitive and emotional development in children born prematurely. They were developed in close cooperation with a group of parents and nurses in a neonatal intensive care unit.Presence is a product collection for developmental care, consisting of a mattress, a figure and a necklace. The mattress has vibration sensors that transfer the mother?s heart beat and speakers with recorded heartbeat and her voice.

This master thesis is based on the sociocultural perspective. A qualitative research study was conducted to investigate children's attitudes towards reading, texts and libraries.The theoretical background is constituted by ideas from the new sociology of childhood, literacy-studies and reader-response theory.The study was conducted with 23 children, 13 girls and 10 boys, participating in focus groups.The results of the study reveal that children's literacy-activities in school are strongly influenced and limited by adults. Children's interest in pictures and non-fiction-reading do not correspond to the school institution that favors traditional media and fiction. The study also reveals a gender division between children's literacy-activities that tends to grow with age. All the children in the study regard libraries as book-houses and wished for libraries that combine activity and serenity.The thesis shows the importance of being aware of, and engage in, children's reading-interests and reading-practices if the reading stimulating activities in schools and libraries are to be successful.
