This study examines patterns of consumption during the 1780s in Öjaby and Virestad parishes. I have examined the clothes and jewelry in estate inventories using the concept of status. Then I have used Pierre Bourdieu's theories to understand fashion mechanisms.I have identified five different groups, each distinguished by their formal wear. Men have similar clothes but in Virestad they have more items and more silver. Four people were divergent, they choose other materials and models.

The association between social parameters (i.e. socio-economy and level of education) and voting behaviour has been reviewed and analysed based on data from municipal council elections in Stockholm and Gothenburg in 2002. Some social scientists argue that the class voting is in decline and that new social cleavages have emerged. However, by using regression analysis techniques, this study implies a strong dependence of voting behaviour on social parameters, such as socio-economic status (SES) and level of education. Socio-economy appears to be a dominant predictor in the analysis.

I denna uppsats genomförs en studie av HR-funktionen under en organisationsförändring. Syftet med föreliggande uppsats är att undersöka HR- funktionens ansvar, roll och status på ett kommunalt bolag. Vidare syftar uppsatsentill att se om HR-funktionens uppdrag förändras i ett förändringsarbete och i så fall på vilket sätt.Teori och tidigare forskning som tillämpas i denna studie berör ansvarsfördelning, HR-funktionens roll och status. Även teori och tidigare forskning kring organisationsförändring används för att få en förståelse för kontexten.Studien genomfördes på Renova AB med fyra HR-ansvariga, två chefer och enfacklig representant. Kvalitativa intervjuer och organisationsanalyser genomfördes för att få en inblick i hur väl chefer och fack känner till HR-funktionens ansvarsområden samt hur kommunikationen sker i organisationen.

Status handlar om en persons position i en hierarki inom en viss grupp. Det är inte en egenskap utan något som uppstår i relationen mellan människor. Syftet med denna studie var att kartlägga eventuella skillnader vad gäller hur människor attribuerar kvinnors och mäns statusbeteende. Med hjälp av en egenframtagen enkät samlades data in från 57 studenter vid Psykologiska institutionen, Stockholms universitet. Data analyserades med hjälp av en variansanalys.

The purpose of the study is to contribute to the field of social access in children's free play in the pre-school class, by looking at how children are included and excluded and how power structures arises in the free time. In order to capture the events that occur among the children, observations were chosen as research method.The results show that the children wanted to play with each other, and that the most common way to facilitate play was to ask "Can I join?". There were also other strategies being practiced regularly. It was also common to exclude other children from playing, and this was especially when the children wanted to protect their ongoing game, or that someone was not allowed to join because he or she ruined it for the others.

Bakgrund Med en befolkning som blir allt äldre är det viktigt att ha kunskaper kring hurohälsosamma levnadsvanor är fördelade bland äldre individer. Hälsobeteenden hos äldre,såsom alkoholkonsumtion och rökning, riskerar att bli en stor kostnad för samhället blandannat i form av sjukvårdskostnader. För att kunna planera det framtida sjukvårdsbehovet,samt för att ge kunskap kring vart förebyggande åtgärder är mest behövliga, krävs enförståelse kring hur de hälsoskadliga levnadsvanorna är fördelade i befolkningen. SyfteSyftet för denna uppsats är att undersöka hur socioekonomisk status vid olika tillfällen ilivsspannet är kopplat till alkoholkonsumtion och rökning hos äldre. Metod Med hjälp avnationellt representativt datamaterial från de longitudinella undersökningarna SWEOLD ochLNU har information från 982 individer, 77 år och äldre, analyserats med hjälp av logistiskaregressioner.

Gotland is famous around the world for its unique nature. The agriculture here has always been an important source of income and part of the identity of the island. But today the profession has low status and hard to survive. How can the interest for farming be increased?Gotlandsgården is an investigation about how the agriculture could develop.

This essay discusses the issue of the role of women and also whether they could obtain a strong social position during the Viking Age. Moreover, it does discuss the question of how frequent women were present in Viking Age scriptures, art and archaeological artefacts in comparison to our view of women and her position in the modern society. The archaeological material used is in majority that found in Birka, such as burial and habitational findings. These objects, as well as other comparable and similar findings from other places, when put together with written sources, show that women had different roles in the society. She was able to have a strong social role during the Viking Age not only becauseof the status her family had but also because of her own merit depending of her skills and ability.The archaeological findings found in female graves and other findings in the area, suggest a specializing within both textile production and trade for the women.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det finns samband mellan resurspreferens och social exkludering. Effekten av kön och resurspreferens på upplevelse av social exkludering och livstillfredsställelse studerades också. Data samlades in genom enkäter och totalt ingick 250 personer i studien från både offentlig och privat sektor i Västra Götalands Län. Resultaten visade att vad människor önskar utbyta för resurser med andra i vardagen är individuellt och påverkar upplevelse av social exkludering samt livstillfredställelse. Människor som eftersträvar kärlek, status och tjänster i relationer är de som upplever sig minst exkluderade och känner också hög livstillfredställelse.

In this study the practical work with the EU Water Framework starts on the island of Gotland. 33 lakes and 32 streams have been characterized and classified regarding to their ecological status. The aim with the characterisation is to create a uniform discription of all waterbodies and a comparable estimation for the future. The aim with the classification is both to study the waterbodies ecological status and to gain knowledge of where the resources should be concentrated so that the ecological status in all waterbodies will be good in 2015.The characterisation has been done according to the EU Water Framework Directive, and the factors that have been applied are the mean depth and area of the lake. The length and size on the catchment area are the factors that have been used on streams.

The aim with this thesis was to acquire an understanding for how individuals handle the feeling of shame in connection with cultural consumption. In order to capture the feeling of shame we developed an interview method called the Backstabber interview technique. We found that the Backstabber interview technique successfully triggered feelings of shame in connection to cultural consumption, which made it possible for us to study the handling of shame. We found that our respondents tended to use different forms of accounts in order to handle the feeling of shame. We categorized them into five accounts with relating sub-accounts.

Forskning har visat att många skolbarn lider av psykisk ohälsa och att ohälsa påverkas av socioekonomisk status och etnisk tillhörighet. Studiens syfte var att undersöka om gruppbehandling med medveten närvaro kan minska skolbarns oro, ångest och nedstämdhet i ett område med låg socioekonomisk status och etnisk mångfald. Aktiv behandling jämfördes med kontrollbehandling (avslappningsövningar). 50 skolbarn i åk 3 deltog. Behandlingen omfattade 12 sessioner á 30 minuter under sex veckor.

This thesis presents the design and implementation of an accounting and status notification system for the LPRng print spooler. A solution using SNMP to query for needed accounting and status data is presented, a design built upon this, and an implementation produced. As the system derives from the requirements specification, it will make no attempt to solve all printer accounting problems or to offer compatibility with all printers, database management systems or print spoolers. However, several solutions for printer accounting are discussed and the best solution derived from the requirements specification will be chosen..

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between perceived popularity, social information processing and working memory. With the intentions of examining popularity 209 (98 female, 111 male) children in second and fourth grade were presented with a roster of their classmates and were to nominate whom they liked and whom they disliked. To study working memory capacity a working memory test, that places demands on the participant to work both with and store the given information, was used. To examine children's cognitive processing of empathy-provoking information a cognitive appraisal interview was conducted. The results imply (a) that working memory increases with age, (b) that there is a weak relation between working memory capacity and popularity, and between popularity and cognitive processing styles and (c) that there are some strong correlations between working memory and cognitive processing styles..
