This study analyses social age as a phenomenon and if unaccompanied refugee children has a social age that, according to the Swedish culture, do not correspond with their biological age and if so is, the reason for that. Furthermore, our study has discussed the potential consequences of the effects for the unaccompanied refugee children and the social age when interacting with Swedish society. According to our study, the social age is effected by other factors besides cultural norms, values and role expectations that a society has on a specific biological age. The results in this study shows that social age is a vital component to someone?s identity.
"Det är självklart att det blir nivåskillnad" : - en studie om lärares olika individualiseringssträvanden
Denna uppsats har undersökt lärares individualiseringssträvanden i förhållande till yrkesförberedande respektive studieförberedande program på två olika gymnasieskolor. Undersökningen består av intervjuer med åtta Samhällskunskapslärare. Med hjälp av individualiseringstypologier, definierade av Monika Vinterek, kan vi utröna hur lärare individanpassar sin undervisning. Vidare har vi ställt oss frågorna om lärarna har olika individualiseringssträvanden samt om detta påverkar nivån på undervisningen i Samhällskunskap A. Resultatet visar att lärarna använder sig av olika individualiseringssträvanden samt att det görs en viss skillnad i individanpassningen beroende på vilket program som är föremål för undervisning.

The study focus on the development of the bilateral relationship between India and the United States and the Next Step in Strategic Partnership (NSSP) from 2004 and the change in U.S. approach to India's neuclear program. With the rise of China to potential great power status I argue that the cooporation between the two is an act to balance the Chinese influence and to prevent future rivalry and a Chinese dominance of the East Asia. Utvecklingen av röstigenkänningsprogram under en treårsperiod
Detta kandidatarbete är utarbetat på Blekinge Tekniska Högskola under våren 2002. I utredningen har vi jämfört röstigenkänningsprogram under en treårsperiod, program från 1999 och program från 2002. 1999 års test visade på programvaror med lång träningstid, enkla gränssnitt, stor känslighet för bakgrundsljud och låg användbarhet. Vid arbetsstart förväntade vi oss inte att hitta någon större förändring i användbarheten hos dessa program 2002, då röstigenkänningsprogram inte verkar ha stor användarskara. Utifrån följande hypotes har vi genomfört arbetet: Vi vill med vår undersökning bevisa att användbarheten inom röstigenkänningsteknologi inte har förbättrats under perioden 1999-2002.

The purpose of our study is to get more knowledge about how moral dilemmas affect social workers in their work. This because we find that a big part of social work involves ethic reflections and that is why we find it important for social workers to have knowledge about how they should and can think and act in these situations. Ethic statements exist for social workers to use in their work but we haven?t found any guidelines for concrete situations and that?s why we decided to study this area. Questions we want to answer are how do the social workers define moral dilemmas in social work? How do the social workers deal with moral dilemmas in their work? How do moral dilemmas affect social workers in their work? This is a qualitative study with interviews from seven social workers from one social service office although they are from different units.

In Sweden the social assistance from a historical perspective, has been a part of the social legislation, since the 18th century. In that time called poor relief. Through the centuries this has established the social assistance we have today. With focus on the child, we have attempted to illustrate how the social workers consider the child perspective when they are dealing with the social assistance. We wanted to get a view of how the social worker reasons about needs the children have and how they can see that the benefit has been provided for.

Many children in Sweden are exposed to maltreatment. Among the purposes of the Child health care (CHC) are to decrease mortality, infirmity and handicaps among mothers and their children, and to decrease hurtful strains for parents and their children. CHC-nurses get critizism for not reporting child maltreatment in high enough numbers to the Social service. The aim of this study was to chart how CHC-nurses finds their work with families suffering from maltreatment. Ten CHC-nurses were interviewed with semistructured interviews.

In this study we have investigated who is debating on Sveriges Television. For this study we have chosen the program Debatt which is the biggest debate program in the Swedish television based on the audience. Debatt is broadcasted on Sveriges Television which is a public service broadcaster. In a quantitative content analysis, we examined the proportion of women and men participating in the program and what role they play in the debate. We chose to examine all programs of Debatt over an entire season which deals with one subject.
Användbarheten av Tekla i Betongkonstruktioner : En jämförelsestudie mellan två modelleringsprogram
This thesis has examined the Tekla Structures modeling software and answered the question of whether it could act as a suitable modeling program for the design department at Bjerking AB in Uppsala. The method used in this work is a case study of a previous project with existing basis to work form. The demarcation of the study was to examine only the usability of the foundations of in situ concrete. The work examined three main areas within the design process. The first was to model the concrete elements then to model the reinforcing and ultimately production of the drawings. Because Autodesk Revit was the existing modeling program in the Department conducted the evaluation as a comparison between the two programs.
Argument vs Uppdrag granskning - En komparativ, retorisk analys av ett debattprogram och ett granskande program
Syfte: Att undersöka om man avseende på ett debatt- och ett granskande program verkligen kan påstå att vi idag har en sådan representativ offentlighet som Habermas talar om (se Val av Teori). Det vill säga, att se hur den samhälleliga eliten presenterar sig själv och sin makt offentligt idag, i ett debatt- och ett granskande program. Frågeställning: Hur kan man konkret se att politiker och företagsledare med hjälp av en språklig och visuell retorik presenterar sig själva och sin makt i ett debattprogram och ett granskande program idag? Och vilka likheter/olikheter kan man då urskilja i den politiska självpresentationen mellan dessa program?Val av Teori: Jürgen Habermas teori om återkomsten av den representativa offentligheten som handlar om att den moderna samhällseliten har återutvecklat en modern form av representation, som går ut på att presentera och representera sin makt inför folket och inte för folket.Val av Empiri: Debattprogrammet ?Argument? på SVT 1 och SVT 24. Det granskande programmet ?Uppdrag granskning? på SVT 1, SVT 24 och SVT Opinion.Val av Metod: Den retoriska analysen, med ett semiotiskt förhållningssätt som vetenskapsteoretisk utgångspunkt.
Motstånd till förändring
The aim of this study is to compare attitudes to change among innovation and economics students and teachers at one of the universities in Sweden.Data about students? and teachers? attitudes to change was gathered using a survey.Keeping in mind that knowledge can lower ones resistance this study is based on a hypothesis that individuals from the innovations program have a lower resistance to change. The study is also based on earlier research in regards to comparisons between students and teachers.The results of the study show that teachers have less resistance to change than students. Individuals in the innovation program are however less resistant to change than individuals in the economics program.One can discuss whether or not results of the study show that the hypothesis is correct.The difference between individuals in the economics- and the innovation program are statistically significant and has moderate effects in reality. The differences between teachers and students are statistically significant but only have a small effect.It is however a starting-point for future studies that will possibly explore the subject more profoundly..
Lärares användning av datorer och pedagogiska program
Uppsatsen beskriver varför lärare använder datorn i undervisningen och vilka hinder som finns för användandet. Den beskriver också vilka syften lärare har när de använder pedagogiska program och varför de inte använder pedagogiska program. Studien har genomförts i två delar. Dels en kvantitativ undersökning med enkäter riktade till lärare i Linköpings kommun, och dels en kvalitativ undersökning med intervjuer av lärare. Av undersökningens resultat framgår att datorn används mest till ordbehandling följt av Internetanvändning och pedagogiska program.
Vattenvård vid slutavverkning : före och efter vattenvårdsutbildning på Stora Enso Skog, distrikt Siljan
In 2006, Stora Enso Skog implemented an education program in water management for
harvester operators, timber purchasers, cut block planners and supervisors. The focus of the
program was creating stream crossings with minimal harm to the stream and the surrounding
riparian area. This main purpose of this study was to determine the difference in work
procedures before and after participating in the program. The methodology consisted of field
studies and interviews with harvester operators and their supervisors.
The field study looked at how the streams had been crossed concerning the number of
crossings, visible damage to the stream and/or the riparian area made by the machines.
Biological parameters such as the width and dept of the stream and amount of large woody
debris in the stream were also measured.
The field result from 30 harvesting sites showed no significant difference between sites that
had been harvested before or after the education program. But the harvester operators and
their supervisors experienced an increased concern for watersheds after the educational
program.

The purpose of our essay is to investigate the role of the practice period under supervision from a skilled practioner as a part of the student?s development of knowledge. This essay?s main participants are students who are studying their sixth semester during the spring 2009 at the bachelor program of social work at the University of Gothenburg and active skilled practioners during the autumn of 2008 and spring 2009. The essay has primarily a qualitative approach.
Vi har i alla fall aldrig varit apor! : En postkolonial studie om kreationism bland unga
This case study examines how a group of upper secondary school students in a multiethnical suburb of Stockholm reason about the theory of evolution. The theoretical background of the thesis is postcolonial and the questions raised were how spread the creationist thoughts are in the group; in what way the backgrounds of the students are relevant to their thoughts; how the students construct the notion of the theory of evolution; how they position themselves and others in relation to the discourse of the theory of evolution; if there are any differences between students at the collage program of natural science and the collage program of social science, and in that case, what differences; and who or what inspires the young in their thoughts about the theory of evolution. To answer these questions both a survey poll and interviews were used. The result of the case study showed that a majority of the students at the investigated school has creationist ideas and that the students profiled on social science have creationist ideas in a wider extent. Another result is that the religious background seems to be relevant to develop creationist thoughts, while the variables gender, home district and educational level did not differ the creationist group from the whole group.
