The aim of this master's thesis is to study how gender equity is discussed and worked with at a Swedish public library, and what potential consequences these discussions will bring. By analysing different types of documents and interviews with library staff using discourse psychological theories and methods we show that two dominating discourses coexist and determine the direction of how gender equity is discussed. These discourses are argued to create and uphold gender and gender roles within the organisation as well as in society at large.In our study we find that one of the identified discourses has, as one of its consequences, that it preserves and regenerates traditional gender roles. This discourse is mainly used when discussing personnel policies and when recruiting. We call this the discourse of gender role preservation.The second discourse is mainly seen when discussing the public dimension of the library's functions.

AbstractIn this essay, policy change and learning is studied in the case of the Social Democratic Party and their policy concerning independent schools. Their policy differs clearly from the right-wing parties. Between 1991 and 1994, the right-wing government made substantial reforms concerning independent schools. The question posed in this essay is whether the policy of the Social Democratic Party has changed as a result of these actions, and if they have approached their right-wing counterparts.Using the Advocacy Coalition Framework, defining a policy as a result of the values the actor holds, the question is studied by applying the theory's assumptions of policy-learning across coalitions. The argumentation of the Social Democratic Party, as it is expressed in official text documents before and after the right-wing government, is analysed.

I syfte att undersöka förändring efter en utbränningsprocess genomfördes halvstrukturerade intervjuer med åtta personer. Undersökningens huvudfråga var; Vad upplever dessa personer har förändrats som en följd av deras utbrändhet?Vi har använt kvalitativ metod och genom våra intervjuer har vi försökt illustrera intervjupersonernas upplevelser och erfarenheter. Studien har en hypotesgenererande ansats.Resultatet visade många exempel på förändring och fem övergripande teman utkristalliserades. Det första övergripande temat handlar om nya insikter om sig själv.

Från misstro till möten. Hinder och möjligheter i kommunikationen mellan Lunds universitet och rikstäckande dagspress.Lunds universitet är Sveriges största universitet med ca 6 000 anställda och 40 000 studenter och bedriver utbildning på flera olika orter. Man kommunicerar med en rad olika målgrupper, varav en av de viktigaste externa målgrupperna är journalister inom radio, tv och dagspress. Sammanfattningsvis ställer detta mycket stora krav på kommunikationsarbetet och det gäller därför att optimera sin publicitet.Under hösten planerar Lunds universitet att utveckla sin presskommunikation och vårt uppdrag är ett led i detta utvecklingsarbete. AbstractThe purpose of this essay was to examine how young people who are about to graduate from high school define and value their future. We also wanted to se which emotions they associate with their future and what or who influences them in their choices in life.The questions for our study were:What does it mean for these youths to become an adult?What images do they have of future education, profession and unemployment?What or who influences the picture they have of their future?What kind of attitude do they have towards the future?We approached the research with a qualitative method and interviewed ten youths in high school. Our conclusion was that the youths had an ambivalent attitude towards becoming adults; it was scary and yet exciting. The youths had the impression that education was important in order get a good job and to avoid unemployment.

The aim of this paper is to examine how boys in grade nine experience and handle stress, to find reasons why stress occur and what help the boys can get to handle stress in a good way. Our supervisor was Gunilla Lindén. In our study we used qualitative interviews to answer these questions. We interviewed four fifteen- to sixteen-year-old boys and two recreation in-structors. We also conducted a group interview with the boys.

After the fall of the Iron Curtain the European Union was challenged partly by an institutionalized organization of the union, as well as by a socio-psychology awareness concerning the meaning of the European Union. The increase in European integration has generated a political collaboration where national understandings in identities are constantly being exposed for reconstruction. This results in a collective European identity where states are united in diversity.National identities are created when boundaries are set up in a relation to other states. In these identity constructions there are thoughts and questions raised such as who we are and who we are not. Ukraine and the European Union has, during a long time, had diversified preconceptions concerning who has been the others.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om teorier kring kommunikation och implementering har giltighet för stora komplexa hierarkiska Frågeställningarna är: Hur kommuniceras de strategiska målen till personalen inom hälso- och sjukvården? Vilka förutsättningar finns det för lärande och implementering av de strategiska målen inom hälso- och sjukvården? Slutatser: Resultatet visar att teorier kring kommunikation och implementering till viss del går att tillämpa i en stor hierarkisk organisation, men att organisationer oftast är mer komplexa än vad teorin tar i beaktning. En övergripande slutsats är att teorier kring intern kommunikation behandlar olika förutsättningar för att skapa en fungerande kommunikationsprocess, men i en stor komplex organisation är förutsättningarna mer begränsade. Därmed blir återkopplingsarbetet ett viktigt redskap för ledningen för att kunna gynna implementeringen av de strategiska målen och lärandet, såväl för ledningen som för hela organisationen. Återkoppling bör ses som en kvalitetssäkring.

Denna undersökning syftar till att studera Kinas allt tilltagande engagemang i Afrika, genom att titta på utbytet med Zimbabwe som ett empiriskt fall. Kinas växande industri har fått landet att söka förbindelser för att säkra det kontinuerliga flöde av råvaror som måste till för att trygga behovet. Zimbabwe besitter liksom många delar av den afrikanska kontinenten ansenliga mängder outnyttjade naturresurser, vilka lockat till sig den asiatiska jätten och som etablerat sig med stor framgång. Vad man måste fråga sig är vad denna handelsrelation innebär för Zimbabwe. För att besvara detta utgår vi från världssystemanalysen, genom vilken stater kan klassificeras och ställas i relation till varandra i syfte att undersöka utbytets jämnhet d.v.s.

The purpose of this essay was to examine how professional social workers work with follow up foster home placements. The study was based on qualitative interviews with ten professional social workers from different municipalities in Skåne in an attempt to answer the following questions:* What routines exist for the follow-up work with foster care?* What factors have an impact on how the follow-up is formed in the particular case?* How can the follow-up affect outcomes of the placement?* In what way could the work with follow-up foster home placements develop?The theories we chose to analyze our material from was the ecology of human development formed by Urie Bronfenbrenner and the theory of civil courage formed by Lennart Lundquist. The interviews were semi-structural which gave the respondents a chance to talk in a free way about the questions we presented.The result of the study showed that there is a difference in the way social workers form the follow-up work of foster care. The greatest difference is in whom the social workers include in their follow-up.

The thesis Den ?fria? rörligheten aims to give deeper knowledge to the notion of social sustainable mobility. My previous knowledge within the subject is focused around mobility being biased and therefore gaining particular groups of actors within society and leaving others worse off. Therefore I chose to do a critical analysis of social sustainable mobility and more precisely show which problems that exist and why.To start with, I have created a framework for social sustainable mobility, from which I have looked at the empirical material. The general empirical material is mostly based on mobility in Sweden also a more specific study is made of the Öresundregion.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka intranätets tänkbara användningsområden för sjuksköterskor inom den offentliga hälso- och sjukvården. Intranät har blivit en viktig kommunikationskanal för många organisationer. Inom hälso- och sjukvården där mötet med patienter är verksamhetens syfte, är datorn och därmed intranätet enbart ett komplement till medarbetarnas arbetsuppgifter. Är det möjligt att använda intranätet som den centrala kommunikationskanalen inom en verksamhet som denna? Intranätet på Helsingborgs lasarett är inte tillräckligt anpassat för verksamheten då många sjuksköterskor berättar att de ofta använder sig av andra kanaler för att hitta det de söker.

The ambition of this paper is to study the construction of the categorization between ?us? and ?them? in a religious minority, represented by Jehovah?s Witnesses and a nationalist political party, represented by the Swedish Democrats. This will be done by a discursive psychology analysis of their official publications on each group?s website. By a deductive study using Henri Tajfel?s Social Identity Theory trying to disclose the psychological processes; social categorization, social identity, social comparison and psychological distinctiveness.
